Molecular vibrations and force fields of alkyl sulfides: Part XV. C-S stretching vibrations of aliphatic alkyl sulfides

The C-S stretching vibrations of 28 aliphatic sulfides including one thiol are summarized, and all of the C-S stretching bands are classified into several groups. An extraordinarily low frequency associated with the ethyl group is discussed briefly.     

Tetrazolo-azido isomerization in heteroaromatics—IV : Reactions of tetrazolopolyazines with triphenylphosphine

Formation of iminophosphoranes from tetrazolopolyazines and triphenylphosphine has been studied kinetically in various solvents, and the mechanism explained as nucleophilic attack of the phosphine moiety on the trazolo ring. In the equilibrium system of tetrazolopolyazine (9) and azidopyrazine (9a) in chloroform, it is concluded that tetrazolo and azido moieties react competitively with triphenylphosphine. The mechanism of the reaction of tetrazolopolyazines with triphenylphosphine in chloroform is discussed on a phosphinium radical cation intermediate proposed.     

Further evidence for the intramolecular charge-transfer interaction between tropylium ion and remote benzene rings in 9,10-dihydro-9,10-(1,2-tropylio)anthracene tetrafluoroborate and its methyl derivatives

were confirmed by their UV spectra and pK_R+ values. As a model compound 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1,4-(1,2-tropylio)naphthalene tetrafluoroborate ($\text{5}$)_was also examined.     

ToF atom-probe fim study of LaB6 single crystals

The field evaporation mass spectra of LaB₆ are obtained with time-of-flight atom-probe field ion microscope in vacuum and in the presence of hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen. The spectra are consistent with a preferential chemisorption of these gases on boron sites.     

Studies on yellow and colourless molybdophosphate complexes in the aqueous solution by laser raman spectroscopy

Yellow and colourless complexes of molybdophosphate were investigated by the use of laser Raman spectroscopy. Two kinds of yellow molybdophosphates were identified in the weakly acidic solutions: 12-molybdophosphoric and 11-molybdophosphoric acid which are in equilibrium in solution at pH 1-2. When excess phosphate is present, the colourless molybdophosphate is formed. This complex exists in the solutions of pH 4-1 under the condition of excess phosphate ([P]/[Mo] > 2). This complex was confirmed to be P₂Mo₅O^6?₂₃ and is so stable that the yellow molybdophosphate is converted into the colourless by excess phosphate.     

A novel migrative addition reaction of hydrazines to the diketone derivative of C60

A novel addition reaction of an aromatic hydrazine to the diketone derivative of C60 occurs highly regioselectively with an unusual migration of two hydrogen atoms from the hydrazine to the fullerene and affords a fluorescent product having a methylene carbon along the orifice.
