Topological Landau-Ginzburg theory with a rational potential and the dispersionless KP hierarchy

Based on the dispersionless KP (dKP) theory, we study a topological Landau-Ginzburg (LG) theory characterized by a rational potential. Writing the dKP hierarchy in a general form treating all the primaries in an equal basis, we find that the hierarchy naturally includes the dispersionless (continuous) limit of Toda hierarchy and its generalizations having a finite number of primaries. Several flat solutions of the topological LG theory are obtained in this formulation, and are identified with those discussed by Dubrovin. We explicitly construct gravitational descendants for all the primary fields. Giving a residue formulae for the 3-point functions of the fields, we show that these 3-point functions satisfy the topological recursion relation. The string equation is obtained as the generalized hodograph solutions of the dKP hierarchy, which show that all the gravitational effects to the constitutive equations (2-point functions) can be renormalized into the coupling constants in the small phase space. Beyond the standard model physics at RHIC in polarized pp collision

An polarized hadron collider experiment must have a great discovery potential for a search of physics beyond the standard model. Experimental data of various symmetry tests at RHIC are going to be obtained within a few years. The author developed a simulation tool, studying a sensitivity of hunting contact interaction at RHIC by measuring parity violating spin asymmetries.     

Fluorimetric determination of titanium with 2-methyl-3-ethyl-5-hydroxychromone

Titanium reacts with 5-hydroxychromone and eleven of its derivatives to form water-insoluble yellow complexes, which exhibit yellow-green fluorescence on extraction into carbon tetrachloride. An investigation of the substituent effect on the fluorescence intensity of the titanium complexes of these reagents showed that the best fluorescent reagent for the determination of titanium is 2-methyl-3-ethyl-5-hydroxychromone. The maximum wavelengths of the excitation and emission spectra of 2-methyl-3-ethyl-5-hydroxychromone complex are 395 nm and 513 nm, respectively. The titanium complex shows constant fluorescence intensity when extracted from a solution of pH 6.5–8.5. When extraction is done with 10ml of carbon tetrachloride, 0.5–5.0 μg of titanium can be determined. The effects of diverse ions and of substituent position in the reagents are discussed.
