Shape transitions were examined with regard to the solubilization of the poorly water-soluble drug indomethacin (IMC) in the nonionic surfactants heptaethylene oxide tetradecyl (C14E7) and hexadecyl (C16E7) ethers by means of a dynamic light scattering technique. The cloud points of the pure C14E7 and C16E7 micelles ranged from 58 to 62 degrees C and from 52.1 to 55.6 degrees C, respectively, at surfactant concentrations of 1 to 10 mM. The cloud points of IMC-solubilized micelles increased by approximately 1 to 5 degrees . The sizes of the pure C14E7 micelles were 4 to 14 nm at 20 to 40 degrees C at a concentration of 2 to 20 mM. The apparent hydrodynamic radius (R happ) of pure C16E7 micelles varied with temperature and concentration. C16E7 surfactant formed small spherical micelles at 20 and 25 degrees C at concentrations below 5 mM; the size of the micelles was approximately 5 nm. On the other hand, from 30 to 40 degrees C and at a higher concentration, C16E7 formed elongated cylindrical micelles, and these elongated micelles entangled or overlapped each other. The R happ of the IMC-solubilized C14E7 micelles at 20 to 40 degrees C and of C16E7 micelles at 20 degrees C increased compared to that of pure micelles. On the other hand, the cylindrical micelles of C16E7 decreased in size and turned into spherical ones because of the hydrophobicity between the micelles caused by solubilization of IMC. This phenomenon was confirmed by transmission electron microscope (TEM) images.  相似文献

Fast proton-conducting P2O5-ZrO2-SiO2 glasses were prepared by sol-gel processing of metal alkoxides. Glasses heated to 150 to 400°C exhibited room temperature conductivities of 10–4 S/cm, larger by 2 order of magnitude than that of as-prepared gel, 3 × 10–7 S/cm at 30°C. The conductivity increased quadratically with the increasing product of proton and molecular water concentration. These high conductivities were regarded as fast proton transfer accelerated by molecular water bonded with the hydroxyl groups.  相似文献

Biomimetic oxidative dimerization of tryptophan derivatives in aqueous media with oxygen as a bulk oxidant catalyzed by an iron octacarboxy phthalocyanine complex was established. The discovery of the extremely active iron catalyst enables aerobic enzyme-mimetic oxidation to be performed in a flask. This method was applicable to the oxidative dimerization of a wide range of tryptophan derivatives, including various dipeptides and oligopeptides, with remarkable functional-group tolerance without the protection of the amino acid residues. Furthermore, oxidative dimerization of tryptophan derivatives bearing dioxopiperazine units enabled the convergent total synthesis of five natural pyrroloindole compounds and unnatural congeners. The established chemical method provides facile access to a broad range of dimerized peptides with a unique scaffold to link two turn structures, which will serve as a powerful tool to create new small- and medium-sized-molecules as drug candidates.  相似文献

Two krypton-chloride germicidal excimer lamp units (Care222 TRT-104C11-UI-U3, USHIO Inc.) were installed in the examination room of an ophthalmology department. The irradiation dose was set not to exceed the former (i.e., before 2022) threshold limit value (TLV) (22 mJ cm−2/8 h) recommended by the ACGIH. Section 1: The eyes and lids of the six ophthalmologists (5 wore glasses for myopic correction) who worked in the room for a mean stay of 6.7 h week−1 were prospectively observed for 12 months. Slitlamp examinations revealed neither acute adverse events such as corneal erosion, conjunctival hyperemia, and lid skin erythema nor chronic adverse events such as pterygium, cataract, or lid tumor. The visual acuity, refractive error, and corneal endothelial cell density remained unchanged during the study. Section 2: The irradiation of samples placed on the table or floor using the same fixtures in the room (5–7.5 mJ cm−2) was associated with >99% inhibition of φX174 phage and >90% inhibition of Staphylococcus aureus. In conclusion, no acute or chronic health effects in human participants was observed in a clinical setting of full-room ultraviolet germicidal irradiation by 222-nm lamp units, and high efficacy in deactivation of microorganisms was determined in the same setting.  相似文献
