A novel flow-injection spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of manganese(II) at sub-nanogram/ml levels. The method is based on its catalytic effect on the oxidation of N,N′-bis(2-hydroxy-3-sulfopropyl)tolidine (HSPT) by periodate. The catalytic effect of manganese(II) was enhanced by the presence of 2,2′-bipyridine as an activator. By monitoring the change in absorbance of the oxidation product of HSPT at 670 nm, manganese(II) ranging 0.02-3.0 ng ml−1 could be determined with the relative standard deviations of less than 2%. The interfering ions were effectively suppressed by the addition of 2,2′-iminodiethanol and citric acid. The proposed method is directly applicable to the determination of manganese in lake and river water samples.  相似文献

Regioselectively substituted alkylcellulose ethers having long alkyl side chains, 6-O- (6C18), 2,3-di-O- (23C18), and tri-O-octadecyl-cellulose (triC18) were successfully synthesized. The key step of these syntheses was removal of the residual alkylation reagent by an isothermal crystallization procedure to isolate and purify the compounds, since a physical entanglement between the long alkyl side chains in the cellulose derivatives and the reagent had caused difficulty in obtaining the purified derivatives. After the monolayers from these cellulose ethers were fabricated on a water surface, they were deposited on substrates by a vertical dipping method to be Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) monolayers. During the compression process of each monolayer, a surface pressure (pi)-area (A) isotherm behaved in a different way. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) was employed to interpret changes of the surface topography of the obtained LB monolayers depending on the surface pressure. The compressed 23C18 LB monolayer was observed to be more homogeneous than other samples. On the basis of the LB monolayer thickness estimated by AFM as well as X-ray reflection measurements, the 23C18 LB monolayer was assumed to possibly possess the vertical arrangement of an up-ordering of all the alkyl side chains on the individual glucose ring against the water surface. In other words, with increase in the surface pressure, the usual conformation of a 2(1) screw of cellulose backbone may be changed into an unusual conformation with a certain phi-psi dihedral angle resulting in 1-fold axis without a symmetry element. These results suggest that the formation of such compressed LB monolayers was strongly influenced by the hydrophobic interaction among the distribution of the long alkyl side chains in the anhydroglucose unit and further lack of inter- and/or intramolecular hydrogen bonds engaged in cellulose ethers, and as a result, those effects may even change the main chain conformation.  相似文献

We have developed a fragment interaction analysis based on local MP2 (FILM) in the context of the fragment molecular orbital (FMO) scheme. The primary purpose of this work is to provide a tool for analyzing inter-fragment interaction associated with dispersion interactions in a large molecule such as protein and DNA. Our implementation of local MP2 (LMP2) is based on the algorithm developed by Pulay and Werner. A potential of FILM was demonstrated using the human immunodeficiency virus type 1 protease (HIV-1 PR) complexed with lopinavir (LPV). The total energy, binding affinity, and inter-fragment interaction energy (IFIE) by the FMO method using LMP2 were compared with those obtained by canonical MP2 and the site-specific information in dispersion interaction was obtained. It turned out that the FILM is a useful tool for analyzing the dispersion interaction between an amino acid residue and a specific site of a ligand.  相似文献

We demonstrate a simple, facile approach to the deposition of silver nanoparticles on the surface of cellulose microfibrils with a quasi-one-dimensional arrangement. The process involves the generation of aldehyde groups by oxidizing the surface of cellulose microfibrils and then the assembly of silver nanoparticles on the surface by means of the silver mirror reaction. The linear nature of the microfibrils and the relatively uniform surface chemical modification result in a uniform linear distribution of silver particles along the microfibrils. The effects of various reaction parameters, such as the reaction time for the reduction process and employed starting materials, have been investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. Additionally, the products were examined for their electric current-voltage characteristics, the results showing that these materials had an electric conductivity of approximately 5 S/cm, being different from either the oxidated cellulose or bulk silver materials by many orders of magnitude.  相似文献

The single-phase region of La1−xSrxCrO3 (x=0.1, 0.2, 0.3) was precisely determined as a function of temperature, PO2 and Sr content. The powders with the nominal composition of La1−xSrxCrO3 were equilibrated under various conditions, and then identified by XRD analyses. To confirm the equilibration, two independent experiments were performed for each composition observing (i) the precipitation of the second phase from a single-phase solid solution, and (ii) the formation of the single phase from the constituent oxides. Two kinds of second phases, SrCrO4 and an unknown phase, were observed depending on the conditions. The second phases tended to appear at low temperature, in high PO2 and with a large Sr content. The single-phase regions obtained via the two equilibration routes were in good agreement with each other. The thermodynamic calculations on the supposition of ideality of the solid solution essentially reproduced the experimental results. When this material is used as the interconnects of solid oxide fuel cells, much attention should be paid to its relatively narrow solubility range of Sr; for example, the solubility limit is approximately 0.1 under a typical cathode-side condition (1273 K, air).  相似文献

A novel flow-injection spectrophotometry has been developed for the determination of molybdenum(VI) at nanograms per milliliter levels. The method is based on the catalytic effect of molybdenum(VI) on the bromate oxidative coupling of p-hydrazinobenzenesulfonic acid with N-(1-naphthyl)ethylenediamine to form an azo dye (λmax = 530 nm). Chromotropic acid (4,5-dihydroxy-2,7-naphthalenedisulfonic acid) acted as an effective activator for the molybdenum(VI)-catalyzed reaction and increased the sensitivity of the method. The reaction was monitored by measuring the change in absorbance of the dye produced. The proposed method allowed the determination of molybdenum(VI) in the range 1.0-20 ng mL−1 with sample throughput of 15 h−1. The limit of detection was 0.5 ng mL−1 and a relative standard deviation for 10 ng mL−1 molybdenum(VI) (n = 10) was 2.5%. The interfering ions were eliminated by using the combination of a masking agent and on-line minicolumn packed with cation exchanger. The present method was successfully applied to the determination of molybdenum(VI) in plant foodstuffs.  相似文献

The iron complex of hemiporphycene, a molecular hybrid of porphyrin with porphycene, was incorporated into the apomyoglobin pocket to examine ligand binding ability of the iron atom in the novel porphyrinoid. Apomyoglobin was successfully coupled with a stoichiometric amount of ferric hemiporphycene to afford the reconstituted myoglobin equipped with the iron coordination structure of native protein. Cyanide, imidazole, and fluoride coordinated to the ferric protein with affinities comparable with those for native myoglobin. The ferrous myoglobin was functionally active to bind O(2) and CO reversibly at pH 7.4 and 20 degrees C. The O(2) affinity is 12-fold higher than that of native myoglobin while the CO affinity is slightly lower, suggesting decreased discrimination between O(2) and CO in the heme pocket. The functional anomaly was interpreted to reflect increased sigma-bonding character in the Fe(II)-O(2) bond. In contrast with 6-coordinate native NO protein, the NO myoglobin containing ferrous hemiporphycene is in a mixed 5- and 6-coordinate state. This observation suggests that the in-plane configuration of the iron atom in hemiporphycene is destabilized by NO. Influence of the core deformation was also detected with both the infrared absorption for the ferrous CO derivative and electron paramagnetic resonance for ferric imidazole complex. Anomalies in the ferric and ferrous derivatives were ascribed to the modified iron-N(pyrrole) interactions in the asymmetric metallo core of hemiporphycene.  相似文献

We present a method for in situ sulphur (S) isotopic analysis of significantly small areas (1.5 µm in diameter) in pyrite using secondary ion mass spectrometry (NanoSIMS) to interpret microbial sulphur metabolism in the early earth. We evaluated the precision and accuracy of S isotopic ratios obtained by this method using hydrothermal pyrite samples with homogeneous S isotopic ratios. The internal precision of the δ34S value was 1.5‰ at the level of 1 sigma of standard error (named 1SE) for a single spot, while the external reproducibility was estimated to be 1.6‰ at the level of 1 sigma of standard deviation (named 1SD, n = 25). For each separate sample, the average δ34S value was comparable with that measured by a conventional method, and the accuracy was better than 2.3‰. Consequently, the in situ method is sufficiently accurate and precise to detect the S isotopic variations of small sample of the pyrite (less than 20 µm) that occurs ubiquitously in ancient sedimentary rocks. This method was applied to measure the S isotopic distribution of pyrite within black chert fragments in early Archean sandstone. The pyrite had isotopic zoning with a 34S‐depleted core and 34S‐enriched rim, suggesting isotopic evolution of the source H2S from ?15 to ?5‰. Production of H2S by microbial sulphate reduction (MSR) in a closed system provides a possible explanation for both the 34S‐depleted initial H2S and the progressive increase in the δ34SH2S value. Although more extensive data are necessary to strengthen the explanation for the origin of the MSR, the results show that the S isotopic distribution within pyrite crystals may be a key tracer for MSR activity in the early earth. NMR spin-lattice relaxation time (T 1) measurements were performed for 14N of acetonitrile in acetonitrile (CH3CN)—H2O mixtures and for 2H of heavy water in CH3CN—D2O mixtures at 30°C up to 294.2 MPa together with those for 2H in CH3CN—D2O mixtures at 10 and 20°C under atmospheric pressure over the whole composition range of the mixtures. IR absorption spectra for CH3CN—H2O and CH3CN—10 mol% HDO/D2O mixtures were obtained at 30°C under atmospheric pressure. Densities and viscosities of CH3CN—H2O mixtures were also measured under high pressure. The rotational correlation times for D2O [τ c (D)] and acetonitrile [τ c (N)] were determined from T 1 measurements. Under atmospheric pressure, τ c (D) exhibits a small maximum around 10 mol% of acetonitrile at each temperature, and the maximum position is almost independent of temperature. These results suggest that the dipole–dipole interaction between acetonitrile and water molecules plays an important role in determining the rotational motion of water molecules in the mixtures. This is supported by the variation of the peak for the bending vibration of water molecules with composition. The decreases in τ c (D) and τ c (N) at higher acetonitrile contents are ascribed to the formation of acetonitrile dimer, trimer, and oligomer aggregates. Except for τ c (D) in the water-rich region, the pressure coefficients of τ c (D) and τ c (N) are positive which is understood as a simple compression effect. Furthermore, the composition of mixture at which τ c (D) and τ c (N) show a maximum shifted to higher acetonitrile content with increasing pressure. These results are discussed in terms of the pressure effect on the equilibria of acetonitrile monomers with the aggregates of acetonitrile in the mixtures.  相似文献

Lipophilic paddlewheel biruthenium complexes [Ru(2)(μ-O(2)CR)(3)X](n) (O(2)CR = 3,4,5-tridodecyloxybenzoate, X = Cl, I) self-assemble in organic media to form halogen-bridged coordination polymers. The polymerization is accompanied by spectral changes in π(RuO,Ru(2)) → π*(Ru(2)) and π(axial ligand) → π*(Ru(2)) absorption bands. These polymeric complexes form lyotropic liquid crystals in n-decane at concentrations above ~100 unit mM. The bridging halogen axial ligands (X = Cl or I) exert significant influences on their electronic structures and self-assembling characteristics: the chloride-bridged polymers give hexagonally aligned ordered columnar structure (columnar hexagonal phase, Col(h)), whereas the iodide-bridged polymers form less ordered columnar nematic (Col(n)) phase, as revealed by small-angle X-ray diffraction measurements. Chloro-bridged coordination polymers dispersed in n-decane are thermally intact even at the elevated temperature of 70 °C. In contrast, iodo-bridged polymers show reversible dissociation and reassembly phenomena depending on temperature. These halogen-bridged coordination polymers show unidirectional alignment upon applying alternating current (ac) electric field as investigated by crossed polarizing optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The unidirectionally oriented columns of chloro-bridged polymers are accumulated upon repetitive application of the ac voltage, whereas iodo-bridged coordination polymers show faster and reversible alignment changes in response to turning on-and-off the electric field. The controlled self-assembly of electronically conjugated linear complexes provide a potential platform to design electric field-responsive nanomaterials.  相似文献
