We report for the first time on tunable room temperature cw laser action of a transition metal laser material. In Cr3+:GdScGa-garnet crystals almost the total fluorescence is channelled into the broad band4 T 2→4 A 2 transition. The fluorescence lifetime is τ=120 μs. Laser pumping in the blue-green and yellow-red spectral range yields pump thresholds around 250 mW and slope efficiencies up to 11%. The wavelength of the free running Cr3+ laser is centered at 777 nm. 相似文献

In this work the distribution of interoccurrence times between earthquakes in aftershock sequences is analyzed and a model based on a nonhomogeneous Poisson (NHP) process is proposed to quantify the observed scaling. In this model the generalized Omori's law for the decay of aftershocks is used as a time-dependent rate in the NHP process. The analytically derived distribution of interoccurrence times is applied to several major aftershock sequences in California to confirm the validity of the proposed hypothesis. 相似文献

An expert system for automatic identification of the complex vibrational-rotational spectra of molecules has been developed. An iteration approach is implemented in this system, in which employment of the exact combination rule is combined with determination of the spectroscopic constants by solving of the inverse problems and comparison of the calculated parameters of spectral lines with the corresponding measured values. In order to calculate the energy levels and the frequencies and intensities of lines, the Watson Hamiltonian, the Padé-Borel approximants, and generating functions are used. The system is based on the application of pattern-recognition algorithms. Recognition training makes it possible to obtain the required flexibility of the system and to use different methods of identification based on the application of combination rules both for the analysis of strong bands and for the assignment of weak single lines. The system developed can be used to analyze the spectra of the C s and C 2V molecules, as well as employ the calculated spectrum of a molecule of any type prepared in advance. This system was successfully used to identify the H 2 16 O, H 2 17 O, H 2 18 O, D2O, HDO, H 2 32 S, H 2 34 S, and H 2 33 S and molecules. 相似文献

Structurally different ZnSe ceramics prepared by various techniques were subjected to fallingweight impact fracture. Mechanoluminescence (ML) pulses generated during the motion and multiplication of dislocations were detected, as well as acoustic emission (AE) pulses produced predominantly during the growth of macroscopic (on the specimen scale) cracks. The luminescence began immediately at the moment of contact of a striker with the surface of the specimen, whereas the emission of sound occurred within 50–100 μs after the impact. The emission maxima in the ML and AE time series coincided with each other. The signal series were used to construct energy distributions upon the emission of light and the generation of sound. It was established that the ML amplitude (the number of emitted photons) is proportional to the energy released due to dislocation rearrangements, and the intensity (the square of the amplitude) of AE pulses is proportional to the energy released due to discontinuities of the material. It was found that the ML energy distribution follows a power law, which indicates the self-organization of an ensemble of dislocations during rapid plastic deformation. The AE energy distribution, on the contrary, was found to be random, i.e., typical of the growth of non-interacting cracks. It was shown that the efficiency of the interaction of dislocations depends, to a certain extent, on the technological prehistory of ZnSe ceramics. 相似文献
