Summary This research has demonstrated that the dielectric method can be used successfully for grain moisture measurements for diverse grain types over wide ranges of temperatures if the grain moisture content is below certain (grain-specific) threshold values. These high-moisture limits were estimated. Optimum temperature correction coefficients for 149 MHz moisture measurements were determined for grain samples at different moisture levels. This information should be very helpful for grain moisture meter manufacturers and for moisture meter users who need to determine grain moisture contents at temperature extremes to be able to market grain more efficiently.  相似文献

In scan-mode synthetic aperture imaging radar, spatial resolution in a range is given by a frequency-swept waveform, whereas resolution in the orthogonal direction is derived from the record of phase as the beam footprint executes linear motion over the object. We demonstrate here what is to our knowledge the first two-dimensional imaging that uses exactly this process in the optical domain for a 1 cm x 1 cm object with 90 mumx170 mum resolution.  相似文献

We report the first observation of the effects of exchange bias on the nuclear spin polarization and induced magnetic moments at a magnetic/non-magnetic interface, applying low temperature nuclear orientation (LTNO) to Co/Au(x)/CoO trilayer systems. This technique allows us to determine simultaneously the average alignment of the nuclear moments for the two radioactive probe isotopes 198Au and 60Co with respect to an external magnetic field axis. The total average Au γ-ray anisotropy measured was found (i) to decrease with increasing Au thickness, indicating that large hyperfine fields are restricted to the interfacial Au layers and (ii) to be canted away from the applied field axis even when the Co layers are magnetically saturated. This canting was found to originate at the CoO/Au interface as could be shown from comparative measurements on CoO/Au/CoO trilayers containing two AFM CoO/Au interfaces and on a Co/Au/Co trilayer with two FM Co/Au interfaces. In the case of CoO/Au/CoO, the observed canting was found to be dependent on the Au layer thickness.  相似文献

Ga(1-x)In(x)N(y)As(1-y) is a promising material system for the fabrication of inexpensive "last-mile" optoelectronic components. However, details of its atomic arrangement and the relationship to observed optical properties is not fully known. Particularly, a blueshift of emission wavelength is observed after annealing. In this work, we use x-ray absorption fine structure to study the chemical environment around N atoms in the material before and after annealing. We find that as-grown molecular beam epitaxy material consists of a nearly random distribution of atoms, while postannealed material shows segregation of In toward N. Ab initio simulations show that this short-range ordering creates a more thermodynamically stable alloy and is responsible for blueshifting the emission.  相似文献

Commercially available polymers often exhibit quite poor laser ablation properties for irradiation wavelengths around 248 nm. At these wavelengths, the absorption is due to photostable aromatic groups. Photolabile triazene polymers were developed to compare the influence of a photolabile group on the laser ablation process. The photochemically active triazene group has a strong absorption band at 332 nm, whereas the second absorption maximum at 220 nm is due to the photostable aromatic group. By irradiating at 308 nm and 193 nm, the influence of the photochemically active group on the ablation process can be studied. The etching of the triazene polymer starts and ends with the laser pulse. No surface swelling, which is assigned to photothermal ablation, is detected for fluences above the threshold of ablation. The expansion of the laser ablation induced shockwave was measured for the photolabile triazene polymer and the photostable polyimide. The speed of the shockwave increases with fluence and is higher for irradiation with 193 nm than with 308 nm. A shockwave with equal or higher velocity is observed for the triazene polymer compared with polyimide. The interpretation of two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DGE) profiles can be facilitated by artificial intelligence and machine learning programs. We have incorporated into our 2-DGE computer analysis system (termed MELANIE-Medical Electrophoresis Analysis Interactive Expert system) a program which automatically classifies 2-DGE patterns using heuristic clustering analysis. This program is a step toward machine learning. In this publication, we describe the classification method and the preliminary results obtained with liver biopsy electrophoretograms. Heuristic clustering is also compared to other classification techniques.  相似文献

The first total synthesis of racemic perophoramidine is described. The key step features the highly stereoselective introduction of the vicinial quaternary centers via base-promoted carbon-carbon bond formation between a 3-alkylindole and a 3-bromo-3-alkylindolin-2-one. This transformation presumably proceeds through a conjugate addition or Diels-Alder cycloaddition of the 3-alkylindole with a 3-alkylindol-2-one intermediate.  相似文献

The adsorption kinetics (by thermal desorption spectroscopy) and adsorption dynamics (by molecular beam scattering) have been determined for a number of alkanes, methanol, thiophene, and water on a silica wafer—SiO2/Si(1 1 1). No indications for bond activation were present, i.e., all probe molecules adsorb molecularly obeying 1st order kinetics. The coverage-dependent heat of adsorption has been determined accordingly. The adsorption dynamics are precursor-mediated with Kisliuk-like shapes of the adsorption probabilities at low impact energies and adsorbate-assisted adsorption at large impact energies.  相似文献
