The synthesis and characterisation of new trans 2-(thiophen-2-yl)vinyl pyridinium, imidazolium and quinoilinium iodides is reported together with their solvatochromic shifts and EFISH characterization. 2-{(E)-2-[5'-(dibutylamino)-2,2'-bithien-5-yl]vinyl}-1-methyl pyridinium and quinolinium iodides display high μ.β(vec) values up to 1200 × 10(-48) esu. The promising non-linear optical (NLO) properties of this new family of chromophores, which can be further improved by the design of highly efficient systems exploiting the donor and acceptor properties of both heteroaromatic rings and substituents, make them suitable candidates for second harmonic generation imaging with interesting biological applications.  相似文献

A nonlinear and nonisothermal two-dimensional general rate model is formulated and approximated numerically to allow quantitatively analyzing the effects of temperature variations on the separations and reactions in liquid chromatographic reactors of cylindrical geometry. The model equations form a nonlinear system of convection-diffusion-reaction partial differential equations coupled with algebraic equations for isotherms and reactions. A semidiscrete high-resolution finite volume method is modified to approximate the system of partial differential equations. The coupling between the thermal waves and concentration fronts is demonstrated through numerical simulations, and important parameters are pointed out that influence the reactor performance. To evaluate the precision of the model predictions, consistency checks are successfully carried out proving the accuracy of the predictions. The results allow to quantify the influence of thermal effects on the performance of the fixed beds for different typical values of enthalpies of adsorption and reaction and axial and radial Peclet numbers for mass and heat transfer. Furthermore, they provide useful insight into the sensitivity of nonisothermal chromatographic reactor operation.  相似文献

Carbonic anhydrase (CA II) inhibitors are very important therapeutic targets in drug design for treatment of neuropathic pain and in eradication of glaucoma, cancer, epilepsy, ulcer and obesity. In this study, some two2-substituted benzoxazoles ( 3a-j ) were developed as a new family of carbonic anhydrase II inhibitors by employing acyl thiourea chemistry via a simple and expedient protocol and evaluated for CA II inhibitor activity and radical scavenging ability. Compounds 3f and 3j were found to be the most potent inhibitors, with IC50 values of 0.00564 and 0.00596 μM, respectively which are several times better than that of the standard, acetazolamide (IC50 value 0.997 ± 0.0586 μM). Docking experiments were carried out against the carbonic anhydrase II crystal structure to better rationalize the inhibitory activities of these new structures. Moreover, the results of a DPPH radical scavenging assay showed that the antioxidant profile of compound 3i is superior to those of other derivatives. The results have revealed that derivatives 3f and 3j behave as CA-II inhibitors significantly better than standard and 3i has good anti-oxidation potential.  相似文献

The unified Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolskii (KBM) method is extended for obtaining the transient response of an n-th order (n?2) non-linear system with slowly varying coefficients. The method is a generalization of KBM method and covers all the three cases when the eigenvalues of the unperturbed equation are real, complex conjugate, or purely imaginary. It is shown that by suitable substitution for the eigenvalues in the general result that the solution corresponding to each of the three cases can be obtained. In a preliminary antiprotozoal screening of several Clusiaceae species, the methanolic extracts of Allanblackia monticola and Symphonia globulifera showed high in vitro leishmanicidal activity. Further bioguided phytochemical investigation led to the isolation of four benzophenones: guttiferone A (1), garcinol (2), cambogin (3) and guttiferone F (4), along with three xanthones: allanxanthone A (5), xanthone V1 (6) and globulixanthone C (7) as active constituents. Compounds 1 and 6 were isolated from S. globulifera leaves, while compounds 2-5 were obtained from A. monticola fruits. Guttiferone A (1) and F (4) showed particulary strong leishmanicidal activity in vitro, with IC50 values (0.2 microM and 0.16 microM, respectively) comparable to that of the reference compound, miltefosine (0.46 microM). Although the leishmanicidal activity is promising, the cytotoxicity profile of these compounds prevent at this state further in vivo biological evaluation. In addition, all the isolated compounds were tested in vitro for their anticholinesterase properties. The four benzophenones showed potent anticholinesterase properties towards acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butylcholinesterase (AChE). For AChE, the IC50 value (0.66 microM) of garcinol (2) was almost equal to that of the reference compound galanthamine (0.50 microM). Furthermore, guttiferone A (1) and guttiferone F (4) (IC50 = 2.77 and 3.50 microM, respectively) were more active than galanthamine (IC50 = 8.5) against BChE.  相似文献

The new method is systematic and simple. The solution covers the general initial value problem (i.e., for while the existing solution is determined for a particular case, especially for . High-performance Tm–silica fibre lasers operating at 1.9 μm when pumped at 1319 or 1064 nm have been Q-switched using a rotating mirror mounted at an asymmetric angle. Pumping by 1319 nm gives better performance compared with 1064 nm pumping due to greater excited state absorption (ESA) at 1064 nm. A short Q-switched pulse duration of 25 ns and a peak pulse power of about 2.7 kW has been obtained from a 1.8 m fibre for 3.5 W launched pump power at 1.3 μm. The Q-switch performance has been studied for variation of fibre length and shown that the optimum length under these pumping conditions is around 2 m.  相似文献

Pyridines have been formed by heating azabicyclo[3.2.0]hept-2-en-4-ones in toluene. The generation of a 3-azacyclopentadienone intermediate via a [2 + 2]-cycloreversion is proposed as the key step. A Diels-Alder reaction of a styrene, extrusion of carbon monoxide, and loss of hydrogen then gives the pyridine. The process parallels the well-known synthesis of benzenes from cyclopentadienones. The azabicyclo[3.2.0]hept-2-en-4-ones were synthesized from the reaction between readily available cyclopropenones and 1-azetines, in which the cyclopropenones behave as all-carbon 1,3-dipolar equivalents.  相似文献

Infection with HIV-1, degrading the human immune system and recent advances of drug therapy to arrest HIV-1 infection, has generated considerable research interest in the area. Bonhoeffer et al. (1997) [1], introduced a population model representing long term dynamics of HIV infection in response to available drug therapies. We consider a similar type of approximate model incorporating time delay in the process of infection on the healthy T cells which, in turn, implies inclusion of a similar delay in the process of viral replication. The model is studied both analytically and numerically. We also include a similar delay in the killing rate of infected CD4+ T cells by Cytotoxic T-Lymphocyte (CTL) and in the stimulation of CTL and analyse two resulting models numerically.The models with no time delay present have two equilibria: one where there is no infection and a non-trivial equilibrium where the infection can persist. If there is no time delay then the non-trivial equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable. Both our analytical results (for the first model) and our numerical results (for all three models) indicate that introduction of a time delay can destabilize the non-trivial equilibrium. The numerical results indicate that such destabilization occurs at realistic time delays and that there is a threshold time delay beneath which the equilibrium with infection present is locally asymptotically stable and above which this equilibrium is unstable and exhibits oscillatory solutions of increasing amplitude.  相似文献
