Calculation of aerosol particle trajectories in the velocity hodograph plane

A method is proposed for calculating the trajectories of aerosol particles. The method is based on transforming the equations of particle motion to the variables of the hodograph plane of the carrier phase velocity. This greatly samplifies the integration of the equations. As an example, the problem of an aerosol jet injected from a slit nozzle and spreading over a plane is solved.Kzzan'. Conformational analysis of 5,5-bis(halomethyl)-1,3-dioxanes

Investigation of stationary points on the potential energy surface of a number of 5,5-bis(halomethyl)-1,3-dioxanes using DFT-approximation of PBE/3ζ revealed the only path of chair form interconversion proceeding through an intermediate minimum corresponding to a 2,5-twist-conformer.

Microhardness and fracture toughness of Y<Subscript>2</Subscript>O<Subscript>3</Subscript>-and Y<Subscript>3</Subscript>Al<Subscript>5</Subscript>O<Subscript>12</Subscript>-based nanocrystalline laser ceramics

The microhardness and fracture toughness of laser nanocrystalline ceramics based on the cubic oxides Y₂O₃ and Y₃Al₅O₁₂ are determined experimentally. It is shown by comparative measurements that the fracture toughness and microhardness of Y₂O₃ ceramics exceed the corresponding parameters of Y₂O₃ single crystals by factors of 2.5 and 1.3, respectively. The fine morphology of grains and grain boundaries in fractures is investigated. It is ascertained that changes in the mechanical properties of the nanocrystalline ceramics under study are related to both the sizes and structure of grains and the structure of grain boundaries. It is suggested that twinning processes determine the mechanisms of formation of nanocrystalline ceramics.     

Mass and NMR spectra of haplophyllidine and perforine and of their derivatives

Conclusions The mass and NMR spectra of haplophyllidine, perforine, and their derivatives have been studied. The influence of the open and cyclic forms of the molecular ion on the nature of the fragmentation has been discussed. Fragmentation of some 1,2-epoxyguaianolides

The mass spectra of four guaianolides with epoxy groups of C₁–C₂ have been studied. A mechanism is proposed for the formation of the main ions. Synthesis and valence isomerization of dienicβ-keto esters
