Utilizing resonant inelastic x-ray scattering, we report a previously unobserved mode in the excitation spectrum of La2-xSrxCuO4 and Nd2CuO4 at 500 meV. The mode is peaked around the (pi, 0) point in reciprocal space and is observed to soften, and broaden, away from this point. Samples with x=0, 0.01, 0.05, and 0.17 were studied. The new mode is found to be rapidly suppressed with increasing Sr content and is absent at x=0.17, where it is replaced by a continuum of excitations. This mode is only observed when the incident x-ray polarization is normal to the CuO planes.  相似文献

The electrodialytic transport properties of new anion exchange membranes were evaluated that included the transport numbers of various anions, sulfate, bromide, fluoride, and nitrate ions, relative to chloride ions and current efficiency. The anion exchange membranes were prepared by the reaction of copolymer membranes crosslinked to different extents having chloromethyl groups with 4‐vinylpyridine to form a ladder‐like polymer in the membranes and then with trimethylamine to convert the remaining chloromethyl groups to benzyl trimethylammonium groups. The transport numbers of the sulfate and fluoride ions relative to the chloride ions were markedly less for the membranes that had been reacted with 4‐vinylpyridine and then with trimethylamine compared with those of the membranes that had been reacted only with trimethylamine. On the other hand, the selective permeation of nitrate and bromide ions through the membranes was enhanced by the reaction with 4‐vinylpyridine although the membranes became tighter by the reaction. The decrease in permeation of the sulfate ions was attributed to a synergistic effect involving the decrease in sulfate ions ion‐exchanged with the membranes and the decrease in mobility of the sulfate ions in the membranes with a low degree of crosslinking. Though the ion‐exchanged sulfate ion content was the lowest in the highly crosslinked membranes, the mobility ratio between the sulfate ions and chloride ions did not decrease in the membranes. However, the increase in the permeation of nitrate ions was based on the increase in the ion‐exchanged amount of nitrate ions with the membrane, and not the change in the mobility ratio between the nitrate and chloride ions. The formation of the ladder‐like polymer in the membrane matrix brought on a decrease in the hydrophilicity of the membranes due to pyridine groups and an increase in their tightness. Syntheses and radical ring-opening polymerizations of vinylcyclopropanone derivertives having cyclic six-membered acetal, exomethylene, and phenyl groups; 1-vinyl-6-methylene-4,8-dioxaspiro[2.5&]octane ( 2b ), 1-vinyl-5,7-dimethyl-6-methylene-4,8-dioxaspiro[2.5]octane ( 2c ), 1-vinyl-5-phenyl-4,8-dioxaspiro[2.5]octane ( 2d ), and 1-vinyl-5,7-diphenyl-4,8-dioxaspiro[2.5]octane ( 2e ), were carried out. The monomers were prepared by reactions of 1,1-dichloro-2-vinylcyclopropane and the corresponding diols in DMF in the presence of sodium hydride. Radical polymerizations of 2b – 2e were carried out at 60, 80, and 120°C in the presence of an appropriate initiator (3 mol % vs. monomer) in degassed sealed ampoules for 20 h. Although colorless transparent polymers (M̄n 2300–13,500) were isolated by preparative HPLC for the most monomers, a crosslinked polymer was obtained in the case of 2b . The structures of the polymers were determined to consist of single and double ring-opening units. The content of the double ring-opened unit was 25–75% by comparison of IR spectra to a model compound. It is suggested that the double ring-opened propagating chain end is stabilized by the substituents on the cyclic acetal rings. The two-center energies of the cyclopropane ring and activation energy of ring-opening calculated by molecular orbital methods may explain the selectivity in the cleavage of the cyclopropane ring, and the degree of double ring-opening. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. To perform the neutral-transport simulation with processes in which hydrogen molecules contribute to the reaction such as molecular assisted recombination, the parameters of emitted neutral particles at the wall such as the energy distributions and the form (atom or molecule) of emitted neutral particles are necessary as a boundary condition of the calculation. Therefore, in order to provide information of recycled hydrogen on the divertor to neutral-transport code, molecular dynamics simulation of a hydrogen atom injection into a carbon material is performed to obtain the distributions of emission angle and translational energy of emitted hydrogen atoms and molecules. The distributions of rotational and vibrational energies are also investigated in the case of molecular hydrogen emission. Moreover, the quantum rotational state J, and vibrational state v are estimated from the classical value obtained by the simulation.  相似文献

Heterometal arrays in molecular aggregations were obtained by the spontaneous and ultrasound‐induced gelation of organic liquids containing the chiral, clothespin‐shaped trans‐bis(salicylaldiminato) d8 transition‐metal complexes 1 . Heterometallic mixtures of complexes 1 a (Pd) and 1 b (Pt) underwent strict heterochiral aggregation entirely due to the organic shell structure of the clothespin shape, with no effect of the metal cores. This phenomenon provides an unprecedented means of generating highly controlled heterometallic arrangements such as alternating sequences [(+)‐Pd(?)‐Pt(+)‐Pd(?)‐Pt ??? ] as well as a variety of single metal‐enriched arrays (e.g., [(+)‐Pt(?)‐Pd(+)‐Pd(?)‐Pd(+)‐Pd(?)‐Pd ??? ] and [(+)‐Pd(?)‐Pt(+)‐Pt(?)‐Pt(+)‐Pt(?)‐Pt ??? ]) upon the introduction of an optically active masquerading unit with a different metal core in the heterochiral single‐metal sequence. The present method can be applied to form various new aggregates with optically active Pd and Pt units, to allow 1) tuning of the gelation ultrasound sensitivity based on the different hearing abilities of the metal units; 2) aggregation‐induced chirality transfer between heterometallic species; and 3) aggregation‐induced chirality enhancement. A mechanistic rationale is proposed for these molecular aggregations based on the molecular structures of the units and the morphologies of the aggregates.  相似文献

New hydrogenated ring‐opening metathesis polymers with excellent thermal and optical properties were developed. These polymers were prepared by the ring‐opening metathesis polymerization of ester‐substituted tetracyclododecene monomers followed by the hydrogenation of the main‐chain double bond. The degree of hydrogenation was an important factor for the thermal stability of the polymers, and as complete hydrogenation as possible was necessary to obtain a thermally stable polymer. The completely hydrogenated ring‐opening polymer derived from 8‐methyl‐8‐methoxycarbonyl‐substituted monomer has a glass‐transition temperature of 171 °C and a 5% weight‐loss temperature of 446 °C. This polymer has excellent thermal and optical properties because of its bulky and unsymmetrical polycyclic structure in the main chain and is an alternative to glass or other transparent polymers such as poly(methyl methacrylate) and polycarbonate resin. This polymer has also been used in a wide variety of applications, such as optical lenses, optical disks, optical films, and optical fiber. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Adsorption of fluoride ions onto carbonaceous materials   总被引:9,自引:0,他引:9  
The characteristics of fluoride ion adsorption onto carbonaceous materials were derived as adsorption isotherms at different temperatures and in different pH solutions. The fluoride ion was adsorbed into pores in carbonaceous materials produced from wood; the larger the specific surface area, the more fluoride ions adsorbed. Bone char was the most effective adsorbent. The composition of bone char includes calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, and so on. This suggests that the phosphate ion in bone char was exchanged with a fluoride ion. Moreover, the mechanism of fluoride ion adsorption onto bone char is clearly chemical in nature because the amount of fluoride ion adsorbed onto bone char increased with increasing temperature and decreasing pH. The amount of fluoride ion adsorbed onto bone char was also shown to depend on the concentration of sodium chloride in solution because of the "salting-out" effect. The adsorption of fluoride ion onto bone char is endothermic. Bone char can be utilized to remove fluoride ions from drinking water.  相似文献
