Chloro-dimethylaminosulfonium Salts. Preparation and I. R. Spectra By reaction of bis-dimethylamino-mono- resp. -disulfane with a mixture of chlorine/antimony(V) chloride the chloro dimethylaminosulfonium hexachloroantimonates(V) [(CH₃)₂N]₂SCI^⊕SbCl₆^? (I) and (CH₃)₂NSCI₂^⊕SbCl₆^? (II) are yielded. The i. r. spectra of these compounds were measured and assigned.     

Neue Verbindungen mit Granatstruktur. III. Arsenate des Typs {NaCa2} [M] (As3)O12

Attempts to prepare phosphate granates were without success. However, three arsenate granates of the type {NaCa₂}[M](As₃)O₁₂ with M^II ? Mg, Co, Ni have been prepared by solid state reaction and their lattice constants determined. All these arsenates are characterised by a thermal transformation into a high-temperature form, proceeding monotropically for the Mg compound, and reversibly for the Ni and Co compound.     

Zur Kenntnis der Verbindung H3P–BJ3

Phosphine or phosphonium iodide react with boron triiodide in CS₂ or benzene to form the adduct H₃P–BI₃. The water-sensitive white solid is thermally stable up to ～150°C. Its IR and NMR spectrum are recorded.

Contributions to the Chemical Transport of Metal Oxides. V. Transport of Ternary and Quaternary Mixed Ferrites by their Chlorides The transport by means of HCl as transporting gas in a closed system in the case of the ternary mixed ferrites (Ni_0,8Fe_2,2O₄, Mn_0,75Fe_2,25O₄, Mn_1,286Fe_1,714O₄) and the quaternary mixed ferrites (Mg_0,5Mn_0,5Fe₂O₄, Mg_0,75Mn_0,536Fe_1,714O₄, Mg_0,281Mn_0,469Fe_2,25O₄, Mn_0,5Zn_0,5Fe₂O₄, Mn_0,5Zn_0,45Fe_2,05O₄, Ni_0,5Zn_0,5Fe₂O₄) between T₂ = 1100?1000°C and T₁ = 1000?800°C was investigated. Transported crystals were characterized by chemical analysis and the saturation magnetization, the transport rate has been checked. In the case of Mn_0,5Zn_0,45Fe_2,05O₄ two phases were transported. By discussing the phase diagram an explanation is given.     

Cyclisierungsreaktionen zu Pyrano[3,2-c]pyridinen und pyrano[3,2-c]chinolinen unter Verwendung von Ethoxymethylen-malodinitril bzw.-cyanessigester Synthesen mit Nitrilen, 50. Mitt. pyrano[3,2-c]quinolines with ethoxymethylene-malonitrile and-ethyl cyanoacetate,resp.

Reaction of ethoxymethylene-malonitrile and ethoxymethyleneethyl cyanoacetate, resp., with 4-hydroxy-2-pyridones (1a–b) and 4-hydroxy-2-quinolones (3a–b) leads to 2,5-dioxo-5,6-dihydro-2 H-pyrano[3,2-c]pyridine-(2a–d) and 2,5-dioxo-5,6-dihydro-pyrano[3.2-c]quinoline-derivatives (4a–d), resp.2a–d and4a–d exhibit remarkable visible fluorescence. Absorption- and emmission-data in different solvents are reported.

Herstellung keramischer Pulver. II. Über die Bildung von Mg2TiO4, MgTiO3 und MgTi2O5 durch Hydrolyse von 2-Ethoxyethylaten

Preparation of Ceramic Powders. II. Mg₂TiO₄, MgTiO₃, and MgTi₂O₅ Formed by Hydrolysis of 2-Ethoxyethylates Solutions of 2-ethoxyethylates of magnesium and titanium in 2-ethoxyethanol submitted to hydrolysis, evaporation and heating of the residue up to 450°C allow to prepare Mg₂TiO₄, MgTiO₃, and MgTi₂O₅ in an amorphous state with smaller than 1% of volatile components. Highly dispersed powders showing an increased sintering activity are obtained as a result of recrystallization. Mg₂TiO₄ is formed as inverse spinel phase in a metastable state.     

Photocycloaddition of Cyclohex‐2‐enones to Penta‐1,2,4‐triene

Dihydrothiinone 9a undergoes photocycloaddition regioselectively to all three C?C bonds of penta‐1,2,4‐triene ( 10 ), the relative stabilities of the biradical intermediates determining the product distribution. In contrast, cyclohexenone 9b and dihydropyranone 9c afford more complex mixtures of bicyclo[4.2.0]octanones, which also turn out to be less stable on chromatographic workup, reflecting the higher strain due to the shorter bond lengths (C? O and C? C vs. C? S) in the six‐membered rings, respectively.
