The article reports the first quantitative kinetics model for supercritical water gasification (SCWG) of real biomass (algae) that describes the formation of the individual gaseous products. The phenomenological model is based on a set of reaction pathways that includes two types of compounds being intermediate between the algal biomass and the final gaseous products. To best correlate the experimental gas yields obtained at 450, 500 and 550 °C, the model allowed one type of intermediate to react to gases more quickly than the other type of intermediate. The model parameters indicate that gas yields increase with temperature because higher temperatures favor production of the more easily gasified intermediate and the production of gas at the expense of char. The model can accurately predict the qualitative influence of the biomass loading and water density on the gas yields. Sensitivity analysis and reaction rate analysis indicate that steam reforming of intermediates is an important source of H(2), whereas direct decomposition of the intermediate species is the main source of CO, CO(2) and CH(4).  相似文献

A series of N-ortho-ferrocenyl benzoyl amino acid ethyl esters 3-9 have been prepared by coupling ortho-ferrocenyl benzoic acid 2 to the amino acid ethyl esters of glycine, l-alanine, l-leucine, l-phenylalanine, β-alanine, 4-aminobutyric acid and (±)-2-aminobutyric acid using the conventional 1,3-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, 1-hydroxybenzotriazole protocol. The compounds were fully characterized by a range of NMR spectroscopic techniques and by mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS, ESI-MS). The X-ray crystal structure of the l-phenylalanine derivative 6 has been determined.  相似文献

Natural killer T cells (NKT cells) play a central role in regulating immune responses influencing conditions ranging from autoimmune to infectious diseases. NKT cell responses are induced by recognition of glycolipid antigens presented by CD1d, an antigen presentation protein. In the last 10 years great strides have been made in understanding the types of glycolipids recognized by NKT cells. These advances have included determination of the lipid and carbohydrate recognition requirements for stimulation and identification of "natural" antigens for these cells.  相似文献

We oxidized methanol in supercritical water at 500 degrees C to explore the influence of the water concentration (or density) on the kinetics. The rate increased as the water concentration increased from 1.8 to 5.7 mol/L. This effect of water density on the kinetics observed experimentally was quantitatively reproduced by a previously validated mechanism-based, detailed chemical kinetics model. In this model, reactions of OH radicals with methanol were the fastest methanol removal steps. The rates of these removal steps increased with water density at 500 degrees C because the OH radical concentration increased. The OH radical concentration increased with density because the rates of the steps H + H2O = OH + H2 and CH3 + H2O = OH + CH4, which produce OH radicals, increased. Thus, the main role of water in accelerating methanol oxidation kinetics at 500 degrees C is as a hydrogen donor to a radical (R) in steps such as R + H2O = OH + RH. This system provides a striking example of SCW being involved on the molecular level in the free-radical oxidation as a reactant in elementary steps.  相似文献

Despite the key role of magnesium in many fundamental biological processes, knowledge about its intracellular regulation is still scarce, due to the lack of appropriate detection methods. Here, we report the spectroscopic and photochemical characterization of two diaza-18-crown-6 hydroxyquinoline derivatives (DCHQ) and we propose their application in total Mg(2+) assessment and in confocal imaging as effective Mg(2+) indicators. DCHQ derivatives 1 and 2 bind Mg(2+) with much higher affinity than other available probes (K(d) = 44 and 73 microM, respectively) and show a strong fluorescence increase upon binding. Remarkably, fluorescence output is not significantly affected by other divalent cations, most importantly Ca(2+), or by pH changes within the physiological range. Evidence is provided on the use of fluorometric data to derive total cellular Mg(2+) content, which is consistent with atomic absorption data. Furthermore, we show that DCHQ compounds can be effectively employed to map intracellular ion distribution and movements in live cells by confocal microscopy. A clear staining pattern consistent with known affinities of Mg(2+) for biological ligands is shown; moreover, changes in the fluorescence signal could be tracked following stimuli known to modify intracellular Mg(2+) concentration. These findings suggest that DCHQ derivatives may serve as new tools for the study of Mg(2+) regulation, allowing sensitive and straightforward detection of both static and dynamic signals.  相似文献

We highlight a question about binary necklaces, i.e., equivalence classes of binary strings under rotation. Is there a way to choose representatives of the n-bit necklaces so that the subposet of the Boolean lattice induced by those representatives has a symmetric chain decomposition? Alternatively, is the quotient of the Boolean lattice , under the action of the cyclic group Zn, a symmetric chain order? The answer is known to be yes for all prime n and for composite n≤18, but otherwise the question appears to be open. In this note we describe how it suffices to focus on subposets induced by necklaces with periodic block codes, substantially reducing the size of the problem. We mention a motivating application: determining whether minimum-region rotationally symmetric independent families of n curves exist for all n.  相似文献

We investigate the lifetime of two-electron spin states in a few-electron Si/SiGe double dot. At the transition between the (1,1) and (0,2) charge occupations, Pauli spin blockade provides a readout mechanism for the spin state. We use the statistics of repeated single-shot measurements to extract the lifetimes of multiple states simultaneously. When the magnetic field is zero, we find that all three triplet states have equal lifetimes, as expected, and this time is ~10 ms. When the field is nonzero, the T(0) lifetime is unchanged, whereas the T- lifetime increases monotonically with the field, reaching 3 sec at 1 T.  相似文献
