Aryl isocyanides bearing free‐base and metallo‐porphyrins were prepared and polymerized with a Pd–Pt μ‐ethynediyl complex as the initiator to give polymers with narrow polydispersity indices. The molecular weights of the resulting polymers were precisely controlled by the initial feed ratio of the porphyrin monomer to the initiator. The UV–VIS spectra suggested that the porphyrin pendants are regularly arranged to form stacked columns. Metallo‐porphyrin polymers were also prepared by reacting free‐base porphyrin polymers with metal salts. The successive reactions of free‐base and zinc‐porphyrin monomers resulted in the formation of diblock polymers. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this study, we attempted to control the timing of light-emission from bioluminescent bacteria, by changed cell numbers inoculated into medium. Luminous bacteria express bioluminescence when the number of cells reached a threshold. Inoculated cell density had an effect on the time of bioluminescence starting. Samples were prepared by varying cell density of inoculation. In the results, all the vials showed different luminescence profiles in the order of inoculated cell population.  相似文献

The state of an arsenic layer electrodeposited at various potentials on platinum electrodes has been examined electrochemically. The relation between the state and the electrocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution has been investigated. The number of vacant sites have been found to increase with lowering of the deposition potential. The activity has been found to depend not on the amount of deposited arsenic but on the number of vacant sites. The difference in the effects of arsenic and of copper on hydrogen evolution is pointed out. This is attributed to the difference in the affinity of the ad-atoms for hydrogen.  相似文献

Polymers having stable pendant . radicals were synthesized through their precursor polymers by oxidizing them in air or by H2O2–Na2WO4. Hydrochlorides and sulfates of 4-methacryloylamino- and 4-methacryloyloxy-1-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidines were synthesized as precursor monomers and polymerized by using α,α′-azobisisobutyronitrile under appropriate conditions to precursor polymers of high molecular weight: poly-4-methacryloylamino-/oxy-1-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidinehydrochlorides and sulfates. The precursor polymers were converted to polymers having nitroxyl stable radicals, i.e., poly-4-methacryloylamino-/oxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyls, by oxidation in air or with H2O2–Na2WO4 without any main-chain scission. The structure of the resultant stable radical polymers was determined by infrared, ultraviolet, and ESR spectroscopy. Based on the results of spectroscopic analysis and Kjeldahl analysis, the transformation from precursors to nitroxyl stable radical polymers was found to be quantitative. Investigations on the applicability of polymeric nitroxyl radicals to oxidation-reduction reactions were attempted by means of polarography; the reduction half-wave potential was found to be ?1.16 V for the mercury pool.  相似文献

Radical-anions of iodine, bromine, and monoiodochloride are produced in γ-irradiated amorphous solids at 77 K, and their electronic and ESR spectra measured. On limited warming of the irradiated solution dimerization by the reaction I2? + I2 → I4? occurs to produce the same species as reported by Fornier de Violet et al. The electronic structure of the dimeric anion is discussed in comparison with the monomeric anion.  相似文献

Vinylcyclopropane derivatives, 1-chloro- and 1-bromo-2-vinylcyclopropane, have respectively two stereoisomers, and radical polymerizations of both isomers gave 1,5-type polymers. On the other hand, only the cis isomers gave a polymer which had mainly 1,2-type structural units in cationic polymerizations with Lewis acids. The difference between the cationic polymerizabilities of the cis and trans isomers is interpreted in terms of steric conformation of monomers.  相似文献

Raman spectra of stilbene mono- and di-negative ions in tetrahydrofuran solution were obtained by Ar+ laser exciting lines. A considerable frequency shift was observed for several vibrations in the successive steps: stilbene → (stilbene)? → (stilbene)2?. The observed shift is discussed in a simple VB scheme, particularly in comparison with the results on anthracene negative ions. The resonance Raman effect was striking for both ions with intensity maxima at the exciting wavelengths close to the absorption maxima.  相似文献
