Solubilities and the solvolytic behaviour of various inorganic compounds, Lewis acids and bases in fused monobromoacetic acid at 60 ± 0.5°C are discussed. Ionic compounds are fairly soluble, iodides and thiocyanates being comparatively more soluble than chlorides and bromides. Tetraalkyl ammonium halides are highly soluble in this solvent. Conductometric and spectroscopic studies of various Lewis acids and bases in fused monobromoacetic acid indicate their solvolytic behaviour and their subsequent ionization. The solvolyses products BBr3·CH2BrCOOH and SbCl5·CH2BrCOOH have been observed to be the strongest Bronsted acids. Auto-ionization of this solvent has been supported by acid/base titrations.  相似文献

Summary Ethylene- ando-phenylene-diamine-N, N-bis(dimethylmethylenephosphonic) acids form polymeric complexes of general formula M2L · xH2O (M = MnII, CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII, CdII or PbII; x=2 or 4). These have octahedral geometry and are polymeric, according to i.r. (far and near) and electronic spectral data and magnetic moment and thermogravimetric studies. The ligands are thought to be tetradentate for each metal atom, coordination taking place through phosphoryl oxygen and amino-group nitrogen.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove the first approximate max-flow min-cut theorem for undirected multicommodity flow. We show that for a feasible flow to exist in a multicommodity problem, it is sufficient that every cut's capacity exceeds its demand by a factor ofO(logClogD), whereC is the sum of all finite capacities andD is the sum of demands. Moreover, our theorem yields an algorithm for finding a cut that is approximately minimumrelative to the flow that must cross it. We use this result to obtain an approximation algorithm for T. C. Hu's generalization of the multiway-cut problem. This algorithm can in turn be applied to obtain approximation algorithms for minimum deletion of clauses of a 2-CNF formula, via minimization, and other problems. Cobalt-2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol (5-Br-PADAP)-tetraphenylborate ion associated complex is quantitatively adsorbed on microcrystalline naphthalene in the pH range 3.5-9.5 from a fairly large volume of the aqueous samples (preconcentration factor ~30). After filtration, the solid mass consisting of the cobalt complex and naphthalene was dissolved with 5 ml of dimethylformamide (DMF) and the metal determined by first-derivative spectrophotometry. The cobalt-5-Br-PADAP complex can alternatively be quantitatively retained on ammonium tetraphenylborate-naphthalene adsorbent filled in a column (preconcentration factor 120) in the same pH range and determined similarly. The detection limit is 30 ppb (signal-to-noise ratio=2) and the calibration curve is linear over 0.3-8.0 mug of cobalt in 5 ml of the final DMF solution. Eight replicate determinations of 1.0 mug of cobalt gave a mean peak height of 0.208 (at 611.5 nm) with a relative standard deviation of 1.2%. The sensitivity of the method is 1.04 (dA/dnm) ml mug(-1) found from the slope of the calibration curve. The interference of a large number of anions and cations on the determination of cobalt has been studied and the optimized conditions developed were utilized for its trace determination in various standard alloys and biological samples.  相似文献

SBA-15 was synthesized using non-ionic surfactant as the structure directing agent at 40 °C. It was then impregnated with different loadings (10, 30, 50 and 70%) of phosphotungstic acid. They were characterized by XRD, N2 adsorption, FT-IR and DRIFT techniques. The physicochemical characterization revealed that SBA-15 could accommodate discrete phosphotungstic acid due to its large pore volume and high surface area. The catalytic activity of these materials was examined in the vapour phase tert-butylation of phenol using tert-butyl alcohol as the alkylating agent. The influence of reaction parameters such as reaction temperature, reactant feed ratio, WHSV and time on stream was studied, and the results were correlated with physicochemical characteristics of the catalysts. 4-tert-Butyl phenol was observed as the major product with high selectivity. Among the catalysts, 30% phosphotungstic acid supported SBA-15 showed high phenol conversion under optimum conditions, which is significantly higher than either phosphotungstic acid loaded mesoporous AlPO or AlMCM-41.  相似文献

Summary A modified Wald statistic for testing simple hypothesis against fixed as well as local alternatives is proposed. The asymptotic expansions of the distributions of the proposed statistic as well as the Wald and Rao statistics under both the null and alternative hypotheses are obtained. The powers of these statistics are compared and its is shown that for special structures of parameters some statistics have same power in the sence of order . The results obtained are applied for testing the hypothesis about the covariance matrix of the multivariate normal distribution and it is shown that none of the tests based on the above statistics is uniformly superior. Bis-cage-annulated 18-crown-6 and 20-crown-6 macrocyclic ethers (i.e., 1 and 2, respectively) have been synthesized, and their alkali metal picrate extraction profiles have been determined. Host system 1 proved to be a significantly more avid alkali metal cation complexant than 2 and somewhat more avid than 18-crown-6. Both 1 and 18-crown-6 display modest selectivity toward K+ and Rb+. A stable host–guest complex was prepared by slow evaporation of a CH2Cl2–hexane solution of an equimolar mixture of 2 and potassium picrate. The X-ray crystal structure of this complex reveals that picrate anion functions as a bidentate ligand therein. The gas-phase interaction energy between the 2 K+ complex and picrate anion was calculated to be ca. –64.9 kcal mol–1, thereby indicating that participation of picrate anion as an additional bidentate ligand results in significant stabilization of complex 10.  相似文献

Summary The halogen oxidation and nitrosylation of cis-[(SB)M-(CO)4] [M = Cr or Mo, SB = N,N-ethylenebis(p-tolualideneimine), N,N-ethylenebis(p-N,N-dimethylaminobenzalideneimine) or N,N-ethylenebis(methyl-p-methoxyphenylketimine); M = Mo, SB = N,N-ethylenebis-(cinnamylideneimine) or N,N-ethylenebis(methyl-p-methylphenylketimine)] have been studied. Halogenation of [(SB)Cr(CO)4] yielded [(SB)CrX2] (X = Cl, Br or I) where-as [(SB)Mo(CO)4] gave [(SB)Mo(CO)3X2] (X = Br or I) and [(SB)MoX x ] (X = I, n = 2; X = Cl or Br, n = 4). NOCl produced [(SB)Cr(NO)2Cl2] and [(SB)Mo(CO)2(NO)Cl] when reacted with the corresponding [(SB)M(CO)4]. The complexes were characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic measurements.  相似文献
