Gamma-ray data from Fermi Large Area Telescope reveal a bilobular structure extending up to ~50° above and below the Galactic Center. It has been argued that the gamma rays arise from hadronic interactions of high-energy cosmic rays which are advected out by a strong wind, or from inverse-Compton scattering of relativistic electrons accelerated at plasma shocks present in the bubbles. We explore the alternative possibility that the relativistic electrons are undergoing stochastic 2nd-order Fermi acceleration by plasma wave turbulence through the entire volume of the bubbles. The observed gamma-ray spectral shape is then explained naturally by the resulting hard electron spectrum modulated by inverse-Compton energy losses. Rather than a constant volume emissivity as in other models, we predict a nearly constant surface brightness, and reproduce the observed sharp edges of the bubbles.  相似文献

The accurate temperature measurement of solid samples under magic-angle spinning (MAS) is difficult in the cryogenic regime. It has been demonstrated by Thurber et al. (J. Magn. Reson., 196 (2009) 84-87) [10] that the temperature dependent spin-lattice relaxation time constant of 79Br in KBr powder can be useful for measuring sample temperature under MAS over a wide temperature range (20–296 K). However the value of T1 exceeds 3 min at temperatures below 20 K, which is inconveniently long. In this communication, we show that the spin-lattice relaxation time constant of 127I in CsI powder can be used to accurately measure sample temperature under MAS within a reasonable experimental time down to 10 K.  相似文献

Synthesis of core @ shell (Au @ Ag) nanoparticle with varying silver composition has been carried out in aqueous poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) matrix. Core gold nanoparticle (~15 nm) has been synthesized through seed-mediated growth process. Synthesis of silver shell with increasing thickness (~1–5 nm) has been done by reducing Ag+ over the gold sol in the presence of mild reducing ascorbic acid. Characterization of Au @ Ag nanoparticles has been done by UV–Vis, High resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopic study. The blue shift of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) band with increasing mole fraction of silver has been interpreted due to dampening of core, i.e. Au SPR by Ag. The dependence of nonlinear optical response of spherical core @ shell nanoparticles has been investigated as a function of relative composition of each metal. Simulation of SPR extinction spectra based on quasi-static theory is done. A comparison of our experimental and the simulated extinction spectra using quasi-static theory of nanoshell suggests that our synthesized bimetallic particles have core @ shell structure rather than bimetallic alloy particles.  相似文献

Two-photon absorption(2PA) in zinc sulphide(ZnS) and Mn2+-doped ZnS quantum dots is reported by the z-scan technique,with nanosecond pulsed laser radiation at 355 nm.The observed values of the 2PA cross section of all the samples are 105 times larger than that of bulk ZnS.  相似文献

Two silver salts, silver tetrafluoroborate and silver trifluoromethanesulfonate were dissolved in two different room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs), 1-Butyl-3 methyl imidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([Bmim][BF4]) and 1-Butyl-1 methyl pyrrolidinium trifluoromethanesulfonate ([Bmpy][Tfms]). Triton x-100 (TX-100) surfactant and cyclohexane as nonpolar medium are used to dissolve these RTILs to create reverse micellar system. Pure reverse micellar system is characterized by dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurement. These pure RTIL reverse micellar systems are used to prepare stable silver nanoparticle solution without using any other auxiliary solvent in the whole process.  相似文献

BaTiO3+MgFe2O4 material system was synthesized by hybrid chemical process using chlorides and nitrates of barium, titanium, iron, and magnesium. Magnetic properties of the composite samples measured as a function of annealing conditions indicated soft magnetic behavior. Saturation specific magnetization from 8 21 emu/g was observed for samples annealed at temperature between 950 and 1150 °C. Variation of specific saturation magnetization with respect to annealing temperature was related with the distribution of Fe cations in the tetrahedral and octahedral sites of MgFe2O4. Electrical properties of the samples annealed at different temperatures were measured to analyze the coexistence of ferroelectric phase. Dielectric constant varying from 15 to 200 with respect to frequency was observed for samples annealed from 950 to 1150 °C.  相似文献

We propose a TeV extension of the standard model to generate the cosmological baryon asymmetry with an observable neutron-antineutron oscillation. The new fields include a singlet fermion, an isotriplet and two isosinglet diquark scalars. There will be no proton decay although the Majorana mass of the singlet fermion as well as the trilinear couplings between one isosinglet diquark and two isotriplet diquarks softly break the baryon number of two units. The isosinglet diquarks couple to two right-handed down-type quarks or to a right-handed up-type quark and a singlet fermion, whereas the isotriplet diquark couples to two left-handed quarks. The isosinglet diquarks mediate the three-body decays of the singlet fermion to realize a TeV baryogenesis without fine tuning the resonant effect. By the exchange of one singlet fermion and two isosinglet diquarks and of one isosinglet diquark and two isotriplet diquarks, a neutron-antineutron oscillation is allowed to verify in the future experiments.  相似文献

We show that the heat semigroup generated by certain perturbations of the Laplace–Beltrami operator on the Riemannian symmetric spaces of noncompact type is chaotic   on their LpLp-spaces when 2<p<∞2<p<. Both the range of p and the range of chaos-inducing perturbation are sharp. This extends a result of Ji and Weber [17] where it was shown that under identical conditions the heat operator is subspace-chaotic on these spaces.  相似文献

Maximality of a contractive tuple of operators is considered. A characterization for a contractive tuple to be maximal is obtained. The notion of maximality for a submodule of the Drury–Arveson module on the \(d\) -dimensional unit ball \({\mathbb {B}}_d\) is defined. For \(d=1\) , it is shown that every submodule of the Hardy module over the unit disc is maximal. But for \(d\ge 2\) we prove that any homogeneous submodule or submodule generated by polynomials is not maximal. A characterization of maximal submodules is obtained.  相似文献
