We report on transport measurements of YBa 2Cu 3O (7-delta) single crystals with different oxygen contents in the geometry B, J ||ab (J perpendicularB). Our data show that the vortices become confined between the Cu-O planes below a well-defined temperature at which the effective size 2xi of the vortex core is approximately equal to the period of the Cu-O layers. This confinement strongly increases the vortex liquid freezing temperature. A new melting line is found separating a vortex liquid and a smectic phase, which shows an oscillatory field dependence reflecting differences between commensurate and incommensurate smectic states.  相似文献

A general method for the functionalization of Si-Cl terminated carbosilane dendritic molecules via organolithium or organomagnesium reagents is described. Quantitative exchange of the bromine atoms of 4-bromophenyl-functionalized dendrimers affords polylithiated species that are valuable starting materials for further functionalization, e.g., into pyridyl alcohols. The latter were successfully applied as catalyst precursors in a ruthenium-mediated ring-closure metathesis reaction.  相似文献

The vibrationally resolved electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectra of the two dominant conformers of (R)-(+)-3-methylcyclopentanone in gas phase are computed by density functional response theory, with a full account of Franck-Condon and Herzberg-Teller vibrational contributions at the harmonic level. Proper inclusion of the latter contributions was made possible by the recent implementation of effective-scaling computations of vibrational overlaps and of analytical gradients of time dependent DFT. The Coulomb-attenuated Becke three parameters Lee-Yang-Parr (CAM-B3LYP) functional reproduces both the position and the intensity of the experimental peaks, providing a remarkable improvement over the spectra obtained with the popular hybrid B3LYP functional, and allowing a confident assignment of the CD fine vibrational structure. Franck-Condon and Herzberg-Teller contributions are discussed in detail. The computed decrease of the CD intensity in the gas phase upon increase of the temperature of the sample follows the trend observed experimentally in different solvents.  相似文献

By using calculations rooted in the time dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) we have investigated how the lowest energy excited states of a face-to-face pi-stacked cytosine dimer vary with the intermonomer distance (R). The perfomances of different density functionals have been compared, focussing mainly on the lowest energy single excited state of the dimer (S(1))(2). TD-PBE0, TD-LC-omegaPBE, and TD-M05-2X provide a picture very similar to that obtained at the CASPT2 level by Merchan et al. (J Chem Phys 2006, 125, 231102), predicting that (S(1))(2) has a minimum for R approximately 3 A, with a binding energy of approximately 0.5 eV, whereas TD-B3LYP, TD-CAM-B3LYP, and TD-PBE understimate the binding energy. However, independently of the functional employed, no low-energy spurious charge transfer transitions are predicted by TD-DFT calculations, also when a nonsymmetric dimer is investigated, providing encouraging indications for the use of TD-DFT for studying the excited state of pi-stacked nucleobases.  相似文献

Three forms of chiroptical spectroscopies, electronic circular dichroism (ECD), vibrational circular dichroism (VCD), and optical rotatory dispersion (ORD) have been employed to study the configuration and conformational properties of the three molecules: (S)-3-phenylcyclopentanone, (S)-3-phenylcyclohexanone, and (S)-3-phenylcycloheptanone (including (S)-3-phenylcyclopentanone-2,2,5,5-d4 and (S)-3-phenylcyclohexanone-2,2,6,6-d4). ECD and VCD spectra in the mid-IR for the three molecular systems are marginally dependent on fine conformational details, as interpreted in terms of standard DFT computational methods, with common spectroscopic features to the three systems clearly identified. Accounting for vibronic coupling mechanisms reproduces the structuring of ECD n→π band. The ORD curves are quite similar for the three types of molecules, but their interpretation highlights a crucial role played by conformations of the cycloalkanone ring in the case of (S)-3-phenylcycloheptanone. The same conclusions are reached by considering the VCD spectra in the CH-stretching region.  相似文献

Previous studies of the fractionated venom of the Brazilian armed spider Phoneutria nigriventer, obtained by gel filtration, have demonstrated the presence of a fraction PhM, a pool of small peptides (up to 2000 Da) that provoke contractions in smooth muscle of guinea pig ileum. Initial attempts to sequence these peptides were largely unsuccessful because of the low purification yield and the fact that the majority seemed to be blocked at their N-termini. In the present work, analysis of this venom fraction by mass spectrometry has revealed the existence of a highly complex mixture of peptides with molecular weights corresponding to those observed for the muscle-active peptides previously described (800-1800 Da). These peptides appear to be a family of isoforms with some particular features. The amino acid sequences of 15 isoforms have been determined by tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) using both electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (ESI-Q/ToFMS) and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization tandem time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-ToF/ToFMS). These molecules contain post-translational modifications such as proteolysis and C-terminal amidation, which combine to generate additional isoforms. All the isoforms sequenced in this study possess an N-terminal pyroglutamic acid residue. A search for sequence similarities with other peptides in databanks revealed that these peptides are structurally related to the tachykinins, a family of neuro-hormone peptides. The data obtained in this study will be essential for the subsequent steps of this research, the synthesis of these peptides and pharmacological characterization of their biological activity.  相似文献

We report the first-principle calculation and analysis of the vibrationally resolved steady-state absorption and fluorescence spectra, and of the zero-time fluorescence spectrum of a sizable molecule, coumarin C153, in two different solvents. Our approach, bringing together the most recent developments in the fields of time-dependent density functional theory and of polarizable continuum solvent models, with an efficient method for the computation of vibrational contributions to transition intensities, allows a remarkable agreement with experiments, both concerning the line shapes and the solvatochromic and Stokes shifts. The method is also able to nicely describe the solvent relaxation effect on the fluorescence spectra, perfectly reproducing the energy shift between zero-time and steady-state fluorescence.  相似文献

In this paper the numerical technique, labelled Line Element-less Method (LEM), is employed to provide approximate solutions of the coupled flexure-torsion De Saint Venant problem for orthotropic beams having simply and multiply-connected cross-section. The analysis is accomplished with a suitable transformation of coordinates which allows to take full advantage of the theory of analytic complex functions as in the isotropic case.A boundary value problem is formulated with respect to a novel complex potential function whose real and imaginary parts are related to the shear stress components, the orthotropic ratio and the Poisson coefficients. This potential function is analytic in all the transformed domain and then expanded in the double-ended Laurent series involving harmonic polynomials.The solution is provided employing an element-free weak form procedure imposing that the squared net flux of the shear stress across the border is minimum with respect to the series coefficients.Numerical implementation of the LEM results in system of linear algebraic equations involving symmetric and positive-definite matrices. All the integrals are transferred into the boundary without requiring any discretization neither in the domain nor in the contour.The technique provides the evaluation of the shear stress field at any interior point as shown by some numerical applications worked out to illustrate the efficiency and the accuracy of the developed method to handle shear stress problems in presence of orthotropic material.  相似文献
