Using advanced sample engineering we performed simultaneous measurements of interlayer tunneling characteristics and in situ monitoring of temperature in Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8 + delta) (Bi-2212) mesas. Together with a systematic study of size dependence of interlayer tunneling, this allowed unambiguous discrimination between artifacts of self-heating and gaps in the electronic spectra of Bi-2212. Such a confident spectroscopic information, which is not affected by self-heating or surface deterioration, was obtained for the first time for a high-T(c) superconductor. We also derived general expressions and formulated main principles of self-heating valid for a large variety of materials.  相似文献

PORPHYRIN-INDUCED PHOTODAMAGE TO ISOLATED HUMAN NEUTROPHILS   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Abstract— Human neutrophils were irradiated with light at 340–380 nm in the presence of low concentrations of protoporphyrin or uroporphyrin. At increasing light doses or increasing concentrations of protoporphyrin, the neutrophils rapidly lost the ability of locomotion. Also, neutrophil chemiluminescence and hexose-monophosphate shunt activity rapidly declined. An early event was leakage of endogenous K+ followed by lactate dehydrogenase and at a later stage leakage of particle-bound acid phosphatase. A number of cellular enzymes were inactivated, the susceptibility to inactivation decreased in the order: succinate dehydrogenase > lactate dehydrogenase > glutamate dehydrogenase > acid phosphatase. Uroporphyrin had no effect on neutrophil functions, leakage of K+, or cellular enzymes. The results suggest that photodamage to the plasma membrane and the mitochondria are earlier events than photodamage to lysosomes.  相似文献

(2S,3S)‐2,6‐Dimethylheptane‐1,3‐diol, C9H20O2, (I), was synthesized from the ketone (R)‐4‐benzyl‐3‐[(2R,3S)‐3‐hydroxy‐2,6‐dimethylheptanoyl]‐1,3‐oxazolidin‐2‐one, C19H27NO4, (II), containing C atoms of known chirality. In both structures, strong hydrogen bonds between the hydroxy groups form tape motifs. The contribution from weaker C—H...O hydrogen bonds is much more evident in the structure of (II), which furthermore contains an example of a direct short Osp3...Csp2 contact that represents a usually unrecognized type of intermolecular interaction.  相似文献

We demonstrate efficient multimode (MM) to single-mode (SM) conversion in a 19-port photonic lantern with a 50 μm core MM delivery fiber. The photonic lantern can be used within the field of astrophotonics for coupling MM starlight to an ensemble of SM fibers in order to perform fiber-Bragg-grating-based spectral filtering. An MM delivery fiber spliced to the photonic lantern offers the advantage that the delivery fiber guides the light from the focal plane of the telescope to the splitter. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to have the splitter mounted directly in the focal plane of the telescope. The coupling loss from a 50 μm core MM fiber to an ensemble of 19 SM fibers and back to a 50 μm core MM fiber is below 1.1 dB.  相似文献
