Summary The effect of the Hall current on the directional distribution and attenuation of waves created by a localised periodic source in ionized, incompressible, rotating liquids in the presence of a uniform externally applied magnetic field has been studied using a technique developed by Lighthill1). It is found that the Hall current causes a radialexpansion of Alfvén waves and radialcontraction of Taylor waves). It also alters the modes of decay of these waves.  相似文献

We present a newly devised technique, the dynamic layer-by-layer (LbL) deposition method, that is designed to take advantage of the LbL deposition method and fluidic devices. Polyelectrolyte solutions are sequentially injected through the fluidic LbL deposition device to quickly build well-defined multilayer films on a selected region with a linear increase in the material deposited. Multilayer film fabrication by this new method on a specific region was proven to be fast and effective. The effects on film quality of the processing parameters such as concentration of polyelectrolytes, flow rate, and contact time were investigated. A half-tethered self-standing film on a substrate was fabricated to demonstrate the effectiveness and the region-selective deposition capability of the devised dynamic LbL deposition method.  相似文献

The crystal structure of the potential antitumor metal compound, viz. chloro, mono(phenanthrenequinone thiosemicarbazonato) palladium(II) dimethyl formamide solvate, is reported. The central palladium(II) atom is in a square planar environment provided by the tridentate, monoanionic thiosemicarbazone ligand and the ancillary chloride ion. The compound exhibited remarkable activity against drug-sensitive and drug-resistant breast cancer cell lines and was relatively nontoxic toward the normal mammary epithelial cells. The drug-induced killing effect against breast cancer cell lines was predominantly mediated via apoptosis, a physiologic form of cell death.  相似文献

Summary Cobalt(II), nickel(ll), and copper(II) complexes of piperidinum pentamethylene dithiocarbamate (pipmdte) have been prepared and studied by spectral (i.r. and absorption) and magnetic methods. The study of mixed-ligand complexes [Cux(phen)yLz] (where phen stands for 1,10-phenanthroline and L for aliphatic acids, aromatic acids, amino acids and phenols in the ratio of 1 : 1 : 1 and 1 : 2 : 1) has been made at three different temperatures, namely 30, 35 and 40°C. It is observed that all the complexes follow a partictiar reaction mechanism with temperature, and the half-wave potential shifts towards the more positive side with rise of temperature, indicating easier reduction. Besides the formal rate constant, the activation energy of diffusion, ED, has been calculated for each system. The effect of activation energy and the energy of rearrangement of electronic configuration of the depolarizer has been discussed against availability of the redox orbital for the electroreduction process.  相似文献

Effect of Co, Ru and Cu substitution at B and B’ sites on the magnetic and transport properties of LaSrCoRuO6 have been investigated. All the doped compositions crystallize in the monoclinic structure in the space group P21/n indicating a double perovskite structure. While the magnetization and conductivity increase in Co and Ru doped compounds, antiferromagnetism is seen to strengthen in the Cu doped samples. These results are explained on the basis of a competition between linear Co-O-Ru-O-Co and perpendicular Co-O-O-Co antiferromagnetic interactions and due to formation of Ru-O-Ru ferromagnetic networks.  相似文献
