For decades, organizational researchers have employed standard statistical methods to uncover relationships among variables and constructs. However, in complex organization systems, the prevalence of non-linearity and outliers is to be expected. Under such circumstances, the use of standard statistical methods becomes unreliable and, correspondingly, results in degraded predictions of the relationships within the organizational systems. We describe the use of neural network analyses to model team effectiveness so as to provide more accurate predictions for managers.  相似文献

Dispersion characteristics and wave impedance of trapped coupled image guides are computed by using mode matching techniques. Dispersion curves for trapped coupled image guide are plotted for various dielectric materials and dimensional parameters. Semiconductor nanocrystals consisting of a quantum dot (QD) core and a quantum well (QW) shell, where the QD and QW are separated by a tunneling barrier, offer a unique opportunity to engineer the photophysical properties of individual nanostructures. Using the thicknesses of the corresponding layers, the excitons of the first and second excited states can be separated spatially, localizing one state to the QD and the other to the QW. Thus the wave function overlap of the two states can be minimized, suppressing non‐radiative thermalization between the two wells, which in turn leads to radiative relaxation from both states. The molecular analogy to such dual emission would be the inhibition of internal conversion, a special case that violates Kasha′s rule. Using nanosecond time‐resolved spectroscopy of QDQW CdSe/ZnS onion‐like nanocrystals, an intermediate regime of exciton separation and suppressed thermalization is identified where the non‐radiative relaxation of the higher‐energy state is slowed, but not completely inhibited. In this intermediate thermalization regime, the temporal evolution of the delayed emission spectra resulting from trapped carriers mimic the dynamics of such states in nanocrystals that consist of only a QD core. In stark contrast, when a higher‐energy metastable state exists in the QW shell due to strongly suppressed interwell thermalization, the spectral dynamics of the long‐lived excitations in the QD and QW, which are spectrally distinct, are amplified and differ from each other as well as from those in the core‐only nanocrystals. This difference in spectral dynamics demonstrates the utility of exploiting well‐defined exciton localization to study the nature and spatial dependence of the intriguing photophysics of colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals, and illustrates the power of nanosecond gated luminescence spectroscopy in illuminating complex relaxation dynamics which are entirely masked in steady‐state or ultrafast spectroscopy.  相似文献

Present work demonstrates the utilization of surface modified polycarbonate (PC) membrane as solid phase and antibody conjugated CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) as fluorescent label for the sensitive and selective detection of Salmonella typhi (S. typhi) in water in a period of 2.5 h. PC membrane was surface modified with glycine and activated by EDC/NHS for immobilization of S. typhi specific IgG. Antibody immobilized porous PC membrane was incubated with bacteria contaminated water for immunocapturing of S. typhi. Antibody conjugated QDs were also prepared by using carbodiimide chemistry. Both modified PC membrane and quantum dots were characterized by using various modern analytical tools. It was estimated that 1.95 molecules of QDs were successfully bio-conjugated per unit of IgG. PC membrane with captured bacteria was incubated with prepared IgG conjugated QDs for the formation of sandwich complex. Analysis of the regions of interest (ROI) in fluorescent micrographs showed that newly developed method based on PC and fluorescent QDs has 100 times higher detection sensitivity (100 cells/mL) as compared with detection using conventional dye (FITC) based methods.  相似文献

We report a new series of biscyclohexano-fused Mn(III) complexes of bis(hydroxyphenyl)dipyrromethenes, 4a-c, as potent and orally active peroxynitrite scavengers. Complexes 4a-c are shown to reduce peroxynitrite through a two-electron mechanism, thereby forming the corresponding Mn(V)O species, which were characterized by UV, NMR, and LC-MS methods. Mn(III) complex 4b and its strained BODIPY analogue 9b were analyzed by X-ray crystallography. Finally, complex 4a is shown to be an orally active and potent analgesic in a model carrageenan-induced hyperalgesia known to be driven by the overproduction of peroxynitrite.  相似文献

A rapid, high-precision method for localised plasma-treatment of bonded PDMS microchannels is demonstrated. Patterned electrodes were prepared by injection of molten gallium into preformed microchannel guides. The electrode guides were prepared without any additional fabrication steps compared to conventional microchannel fabrication. Alignment of the "injected" electrodes is precisely controlled by the photomask design, rather than positioning accuracy of alignment tools. Surface modification is detected using a fluorescent dye (Rhodamine B), revealing a well-defined micropattern with regions less than 100 μm along the length of the microchannel.  相似文献

A set of iron(II) complexes of the general formula [Fe(OTf)(2)L(2)] was synthesized in 32 to 78% isolated yields, where L represents a bidentate α-iminopyridine ligand. Four of the iron complexes were characterized structurally, revealing a rich coordination chemistry, because the coordination geometry of the iron complexes strongly depends on the substitution pattern exhibited by the ligands L. The catalytic activity of the new complexes was demonstrated in the oxidation of cyclohexane, activated methylene groups and secondary alcohols to the corresponding ketones utilizing H(2)O(2) and t-BuOOH as the oxidants. The oxidation of activated methylene groups and secondary alcohols to the corresponding ketones with t-BuOOH gave isolated yields between 22 and 91% (4 h, room temperature, 3% catalyst load). The influence of the structure of the ligand on the activity of the corresponding metal complex is also reported. Furthermore, UV-vis experiments were performed which provided evidence for the formation of an [Fe-O-O-t-Bu] intermediate.  相似文献
