The high resolution infrared spectrum and laser Stark spectroscopy of thev8 band of propyne

The perpendicularv ₈ band lying in the 1000–1100 cm^–1 region has been studied from infrared and laser Stark, spectra. We were interested in the part of spectrum corresponding to the spectral range of the 9 m CO₂ laser lines. Assignments of rovibrational lines with J'<40 and K'<6 have been made. About 100 Stark resonances have been assigned to 12 rovibrational transitions. Effective molecular constants and dipole moment have been determined with high accuracy. A list of close resonances with CO₂ laser lines is given and may be used for optical pumping experiments.     

A new high-spin isomer in 39 97 Y58

An isomeric state at 3,523 keV excitation energy in⁹⁷Y with a half-life of 144(10) ms has been discovered with the fission-product separator JOSEF. This isomer is depopulated through aγ transition of 162 keV. AnE3 multipolarity for this transition is consistent with the measured conversion coefficients ofα _K =0.98(20) andα _T =1.00(19). Subsequent electromagnetic transitions populate several new⁹⁷Y levels which have high spins. For the isomer the three-quasiparticle configuration [πg _9/2?ν(h _11/2,g _7/2)]27/2^? is proposed. TheE3 transition with a strength about 2 single-particle units is supposed to be of the typeh ₁₁ ^2/+1 →d ₅ ^2/?1 . These findings provide evidence for the rapid shape transition atA?100 since they indicate shell-model character of ₃₉ ⁹⁷ Y₅₈ even at high excitation energies while the immediate neighbour ₃₉ ⁹⁸ Y₅₉ contains a rotational band based on a level at 495 keV.     

Phase transfer of metal cations by induced dynamic carrier agents: biphasic extraction based on dynamic covalent chemistry

In contrast to the classical method where a single molecule is designed to extract metal cations under specific conditions, dynamic covalent chemistry provides an approach based on the implementation of an adaptive dynamic covalent library for inducing the generation of the extractant species. This approach has been applied to the liquid–liquid extraction of copper(ii) nitrate based on a dynamic library of acylhydrazones constituents that self-build and distribute through the interface of a biphasic system. The addition of copper(ii) cations to this library triggers a modification of its composition and the up-regulation of the ligand molecules driven by coordination to the metal cations. Among these, one species has proven to be sufficiently lipophilic to play the role of carrier agent and its formation by component exchange enables the partial extraction of the copper(ii). The study of different pathways to generate the dynamic covalent library demonstrates the complete reversibility and the adaptability of the system. The detailed analytical investigation of the system provides a means to assess the mechanism of the dynamic extraction process.

Phase transfer of Cu(ii) cations is achieved by component exchange in a dynamic covalent library of acylhydrazone ligands. B1/B2 component exchange leads to the generation of a lipophilic carrier agent that extracts Cu(ii) into chloroform.     

Loniceroside C,an antiinflammatory saponin from Lonicera japonica

A new triterpenoid saponin, loniceroside C was isolated from the aerial parts of Lonicera japonica. Its structure was established to be 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl hederagenin 28-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1-->2)-[beta-D-xylopyranosyl(1-->6)]-beta-D-glucopyranosyl ester by spectroscopic techniques and chemical transformations. Loniceroside C showed in vivo antiinflammatory activity against mouse ear edema provoked by croton oil.     

Hg2(OH)[BF4], the First Basic Mercurous Tetrafluoroborate

The first basic mercurous tetrafluoroborate, Hg₂(OH)[BF₄], was obtained through a synproportionation reaction of red mercuric oxide, HgO, and elemental mercury in a 35% solution of HBF₄ in water as colourless single crystals. The crystal structure (orthorhombic, Pbca, Z = 8, a = 985.0(1), b = 991.0(1), c = 1141.0(2) pm) contains [(HO)_1/2—Hg—Hg—(OH)_1/2]⁺ zig‐zag chains that are further connected via weak Hg—OH interchain interactions to layers between which the [BF₄]^— are located in an up and down fashion.     

Local and global chirality at surfaces: succinic acid versus tartaric acid on Cu110

A detailed comparison of tartaric acid (HOOC-CHOH-CHOH-COOH) and succinic acid (HOOC-CH(2)-CH(2)-COOH) molecules on a Cu(110) surface is presented with a view to elucidate how the two-dimensional chirality exhibited by such robust, chemisorbed systems is affected when both OH groups of the former molecule are replaced with H groups, a stereochemical change that leaves the metal-bonding functionalities of the molecule untouched but destroys both chiral centers. It is found that this change does not significantly affect the thermodynamically preferred chemical forms that are adopted, namely the doubly deprotonated bicarboxylate at low coverages (theta 相似文献   

A rapid radiochemical procedure for indium

A rapid radiochcmical procedure was developed for the separation of indium radionuclides from a mixed fission-product solution. An alcoholic pyridine solution is added to a uranium solution containing indium and tin carriers. The resulting tin precipitate is separated from the indium-containing solution by filtering through a cellulose membrane filter. The decontamination factor for tin is 2·10³. Other fission products are only partially removed. The chemical yield of indium is about 44%, and the time required for the separation is about 10 sec. After the tin-separated indium has decayed, the tin daughters of indium are removed from all the other fission products at a specified time and measured, so that the amount of indium present at the time of the tin precipitation is determined.     

LiTiCl3: Synthesis and thermal behaviour

LiTiCl₃ is obtained as one example within an ample solid solution, Li_24–2nTi_nCl₂₄ (?4?n?10), by synpropotionation of TiCl₃ and Ti in the presence of LiCl (2:1:3 molar ratio) in sealed tantalum tubes at 750°C. It crystallizes with the inverse spinel-type structure according to (Li_0.67)^[4](Li_0.67Ti_1.33)^[4]Cl₄ with, at 25°C, a = 1048.62(4) pm, space group Fd3m. Thermal expansion is linear with α = 4.85 × 10^?5K^?1 up to about 300°C and thereafter, when the migration of Li⁺ from tetrahedral to octahedral interstices becomes increasingly important, it exhibits a relative decrease resulting, finally, in the phase transition to a NaCl-type structure that is observed for the first time at about 575°C.

2-C₅H₅(CO)₂[P(OMe)₃]Mo(W)-substituted 4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxarsolanes and -dioxaphospholanes (Ia–Ic) are obtained from C₅H₅(CO)₃M derivatives via CO/P(OMe)₃ exchange. In all cases the phosphite ligand appears trans to the σ-bonded arsenic heterocycle, which prefers a conformation with the transition metal group in an axial position. The dioxaphospholane-metal (Ia) undergoes isomerization with alkyl migration at 0°C, which due to stereochemical reasons can only occur by an intermolecular mechanism.

Thermal Behaviour of Li₃MnO₄. II. α- and β-Li₂MnO₃ By thermal decomposition of Li₃MnO₄ we obtained two new forms of Li₂MnO₃: α-Li₂MnO₃ crystallizes due to Guinier-Simon photographs cubic face-centered with a = 4.09₂ Å, β-Li₂MnO₃ hexagonal with a = 4,93, c = 14.24 Å, c/a = 2.89. α-Li₂MnO₃ is paramagnetic with μ = 3,82 B.M. Below the Neel temperature (≈? 50 K) β-Li₂MnO₃ is antiferromagnetic. Effective Coordination Numbers, ECoN, are calculated and discussed.
