A detailed comparison of tartaric acid (HOOC-CHOH-CHOH-COOH) and succinic acid (HOOC-CH(2)-CH(2)-COOH) molecules on a Cu(110) surface is presented with a view to elucidate how the two-dimensional chirality exhibited by such robust, chemisorbed systems is affected when both OH groups of the former molecule are replaced with H groups, a stereochemical change that leaves the metal-bonding functionalities of the molecule untouched but destroys both chiral centers. It is found that this change does not significantly affect the thermodynamically preferred chemical forms that are adopted, namely the doubly deprotonated bicarboxylate at low coverages (theta 相似文献

A rapid radiochcmical procedure was developed for the separation of indium radionuclides from a mixed fission-product solution. An alcoholic pyridine solution is added to a uranium solution containing indium and tin carriers. The resulting tin precipitate is separated from the indium-containing solution by filtering through a cellulose membrane filter. The decontamination factor for tin is 2·103. Other fission products are only partially removed. The chemical yield of indium is about 44%, and the time required for the separation is about 10 sec. After the tin-separated indium has decayed, the tin daughters of indium are removed from all the other fission products at a specified time and measured, so that the amount of indium present at the time of the tin precipitation is determined.  相似文献

A simple and fast method was developed to determine non-UV active compounds directly without derivatization. The usefulness of the method was demonstrated by detecting the major components in aminoglycoside antibiotic mixtures using capillary zone electrophoresis with potential gradient detection. Under optimized separation conditions (0.2 mM cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), 1 mM ammonium citrate, pH 3.5), gentamicin was separated into three major peaks (C1, C1a, and C2+C2a) within 15 min. This method showed better sensitivity than other capillary electrophoresis (CE) methods for determining underivatized gentamicin. The linear range was from 10 to 500 ppm. Because of its good repeatability and simplicity, this new method could be a good alternative for the current assays given by US Pharmacopoeia and European Pharmacopoeia.  相似文献

The absorption spectra of Ru(2,2′-bipyridine)2 (2,2′-bipyridine-4,4′-dicarboxylic acid)2+ (I) and its diethyl ester (II) are closely related and are both significantly different from the spectra of the mono-protonated (Ia) and deprotonated (Ib) complexes. Luminescence polarization measurements show that for I and II the luminescent states have the transferred electron in the bipy-4,4′(COOH)2 and bipy-4,4′(COOEt)2 ligands, respectively, rather than in the unsubstituted bipy ligands.  相似文献

ABSORPTION SPECTRAL SHIFTS OF CAROTENOIDS RELATED TO MEDIUM POLARIZABILITY   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:2  
Abstract–Solvent induced absorption spectral shifts of the electronic transition from ground 1 Ag state to the excited 1Bu state in carotenoids have been studied. It is shown that the shift depends only on dispersion interactions in non-polar solvents. In polar media there is just a small extra contribution to the red-shift, due to other forms of interactions. The spectral shifts are well described by the theory, which expresses the shift relative to the gas phase value, as a function of solvent polarizability. The main conclusion is that the dominating mechanism behind the large red-shifted absorbance of carotenoids in the proteinacous environment, in vivo, is the mutual polarizability interactions between the carotenoids and the surrounding medium. The solution-phase values of the dipole moments of the lAg to 1Bu transitions and the differences of isotropic polarizability between 1Bu and lAg states of carotenoids in non-polar solvents are calculated and found to be around 13 D and 360 Å3 respectively. From the great overlap of absorption spectra between carotenoids in quinoline and carotenoids in vivo in purple bacterial antenna complexes, it can be expected that the carotenoids are surrounded by several aromatic amino acids in vivo. Comparisons have been done between the exicted states in carotenoids and in linear conjugated polyenes.  相似文献

A new class of nonstoichiometric layered ternary rare-earth tin antimonides, RESn(x)()Sb(2) (RE = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm), has been synthesized through reaction of the elements at 950 degrees C. In the lanthanum series LaSn(x)()Sb(2), tin can be incorporated from a maximum content of x approximately 0.7 or 0.8 to as low as x approximately 0.10. The structure of lanthanum tin diantimonide with the maximum tin content, LaSn(0.75)Sb(2), has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group -Cmcm with a = 4.2425(5) ?, b = 23.121(2) ?, c = 4.5053(6) ?, and Z = 4. The isostructural rare-earth analogues were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction. The structure of LaSn(0.75)Sb(2) comprises layers of composition "LaSb(2)" in which La atoms are coordinated by Sb atoms in a square-antiprismatic geometry. Between these layers reside chains of Sn atoms distributed over three crystallographically independent sites, each partially occupied at about 20%. The structure of LaSn(0.75)Sb(2) can be regarded as resulting from the excision of RE-Sb and Sb-Sb bonds in the related structures of binary rare-earth diantimonides, RESb(2), and then intercalation of Sn atoms between layers.  相似文献
