We analyze in some detail the course that Ettore Majorana gave on theoretical physics at the University of Naples between January and March 1938, just prior to his mysterious disappearance. We discuss, in particular, the recently discovered Moreno Lecture Notes, in which all of Majorana’s lectures are recorded, six of which are not present in those that are preserved in the Domus Galilaeana in Pisa, Italy. Antonino Drago is a retired professor of history of physics at the University of Naples “Federico II.” Salvatore Esposito is a researcher on theoretical physics and history of physics at the University of Naples “Federico II.”  相似文献

Liquid Phase Photo-Deposition (LPPD) technique has been used to obtain both colloidal particles and thin films of metallic and chloride nickel from solutions of only precursor Ni(acac)2 (acac=2,4-pentandionato). Metallic nickel was obtained from ethanol solutions by direct nickel(II) photoreduction at 254 nm and by acetone sensitised reaction at 300 nm. In this latter process the rate was higher than in the first one. NiCl2 was formed from CCl4 solution by a solvent-initiated reaction. TEM analysis, performed on colloidal particles of nickel, showed that their dimensions are in the range 2–4 nm. The films did not present carbon contamination and were characterized by AFM, XPS and GIXRD. Metallic films consisted of particles of 20–40 nm that are the result of the aggregation of smaller crystallites (4–5 nm). Larger agglomerations (around 200 nm) have been observed for NiCl2 films.  相似文献

2-Nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride reacts with ω-aminoacetophenone and 4-amino-3,5-dimethyl-isoxazole to give 3 and 7, respectively. Reduction of 3 with zinc powder and acetic acid afforded the 2,5-dihydro- and 2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1,2,5-benzothiadiazepine I,1-dioxide derivatives (4 and 5). Catalytic hydrogenolysis of 7 and successive cyclization of the intermediate 8 gave the 3-ace-thyl-2,5-dihydro-4-methyl-1,2,5-benzothiadiazepine 1,1-dioxide (9). The structures were assigned on the basis of correct elemental data and spectroscopic evidences.  相似文献

Angelman syndrome (AS) is a severe neurobehavioural disorder caused by failure of expression of the maternal copy of the imprinted domain located on 15q11-q13. There are different mechanisms leading to AS: maternal microdeletion, uniparental disomy, defects in a putative imprinting centre, mutations of the E3 ubiquitin protein ligase (UBE3A) gene. However, some of suspected cases of AS are still scored negative to all the latter mutations. Recently, it has been shown that a proportion of negative cases bear large deletions overlapping one or more exons of the UBE3A gene. These deletions are difficult to detect by conventional gene-scanning methods due to the masking effect by the non-deleted allele. In this study, we have used for the first time multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) and comparative multiplex dosage analysis (CMDA) to search for large deletions affecting the UBE3A gene. Using this approach, we identified a novel causative deletion involving exon 8 in an affected sibling. Based on our results, we propose the use of MLPA as a fast, accurate and inexpensive test to detect large deletions in the UBE3A gene in a small but significant percentage of AS patients.  相似文献

Organic molecular beam deposition is studied systematically at thermal and hyperthermal regimes aiming at investigating the role of molecular kinetic energy on the growth mechanism of pentacene submonolayers on SiO x /Si. We show that the kinetic energy of the impinging molecule (E k ) plays a crucial role in determining island structure and shape, distribution of island sizes, the crystalline quality of the first monolayer, and even the growth mode of subsequent layers. With increasing E k , the island structure changes from fractal to nonfractal, the shape becomes more anisotropic and the island size more uniform, pointing to correlated island growth. Moreover, while 3D island growth is observed for thermal organic molecular beam deposition, supersonic molecular beam deposition gives rise to layer-by-layer growth, at least for the first two layers. When E k ≥5.0 eV, the first monolayer is composed of large single crystalline domains which can extend over up to 10 μm, inferred from comparing atomic force micrographs of height and net transverse shear force. In these growth conditions both the high surface diffusivity and energy redistribution play a major role. We propose a mechanism where the energy dissipation occurring during the molecule–surface collision leads to the reorientation of whole islands during island coalescence, resulting in the elimination of grain boundaries.  相似文献

A rapid and simple short-end injection capillary zone electrophoresis method was developed for the quantification of plasma uric acid. The separation was performed in an uncoated fused-silica capillary (50 μm ID, 60 cm total length, 10.2 cm effective length) by using as a background electrolyte a 75 mmol/L glycylglycine solution titrated with NaOH 5 mol/L to pH 9.0, a voltage of 28 kV, a cartridge temperature of 15 °C, and direct UV detection at 292 nm. Under optimized conditions, uric acid was determinate in little more than 1 min (1.076 minutes). In order to verify the accuracy of the analysis, urate levels were measured in 543 apparently healthy volunteers by the new assay and our previous method, and the obtained data were compared by Passing–Bablock regression, Bland–Altman test, and a new regression-based approach, which showed a good agreement between two methods.  相似文献
