The first measurement of the charged-particle multiplicity density at midrapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair √ S NN = 2.76 TeV is presented. For an event sample corresponding to the most central 5% of the hadronic cross section, the pseudorapidity density of primary charged particles at midrapidity is 1584 ± 4(stat) ± 76(syst), which corresponds to 8.3 ± 0.4(syst) per participating nucleon pair. This represents an increase of about a factor 1.9 relative to pp collisions at similar collision energies, and about a factor 2.2 to central Au-Au collisions at √ S NN = 2.76 TeV. This measurement provides the first experimental constraint for models of nucleus-nucleus collisions at LHC energies.  相似文献

Double electron capture (DEC) by protons from He was studied in collisions at energies in the keV regime, theoretically and experimentally. Theoretical cross-sections were calculated using the electron nuclear dynamic approach and a binomial distribution method in the energy range 1–100 keV. Experimental cross-sections were measured by means of the grow-rate method in the energy range of 4–10 keV. The cross-sections measured are consistent with those of the previous data at the high energies of the measured interval and show a different trend for the low energy. This behavior is consistent with those of other DEC cross-sections measured by protons from He-like targets. With the two collision models, it is proven that the reference data for this system are consistent only with the assumption of uncorrelated electrons and with independent target-projectile nuclei dynamics.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a predator–prey system which has a factor that allows for a reduction in fitness due to declining population sizes, often termed an Allee effect. We study the influence of the weak Allee effect which is included in the prey equation and we determine conditions for the occurrence of Hopf bifurcation. The prey population is limited by the carrying capacity of the environment, and the predator growth rate depends on past quantities of the prey which is represented by a weight function that specifies a moment in the past when the quantity of food is the most important from the point of view of the present growth of the predator. The stability properties of the system and the biological issues of the memory and Allee effect on the coexistence of the two species are studied. Finally we present some simulations to verify the veracity of the analytical conclusions.  相似文献

Mono-N-protected amino acids (MPAAs) are increasingly common ligands in Pd-catalyzed C−H functionalization reactions. Previous studies have shown how these ligands accelerate catalytic turnover by facilitating the C−H activation step. Here, it is shown that MPAA ligands exhibit a second property commonly associated with ligand-accelerated catalysis: the ability to support catalytic turnover at substoichiometric ligand-to-metal ratios. This catalytic role of the MPAA ligand is characterized in stoichiometric C−H activation and catalytic C−H functionalization reactions. Palladacycle formation with substrates bearing carboxylate and pyridine directing groups exhibit a 50–100-fold increase in rate when only 0.05 equivalents of MPAA are present relative to PdII. These and other mechanistic data indicate that facile exchange between MPAAs and anionic ligands coordinated to PdII enables a single MPAA to support C−H activation at multiple PdII centers.  相似文献
