Identified charged particles in quark and gluon jets

A sample of 2.2 million hadronic Z decays, selected from the data recorded by the Delphi detector at Lep during 1994–1995 was used for an improved measurement of inclusive distributions of and p and their antiparticles in gluon and quark jets. The production spectra of the individual identified particles were found to be softer in gluon jets compared to quark jets, with a higher multiplicity in gluon jets as observed for inclusive charged particles. A significant proton enhancement in gluon jets is observed indicating that baryon production proceeds directly from colour objects. The maxima, , of the -distributions for kaons in gluon and quark jets are observed to be different. Received: 24 January 2000 / Revised version: 15 May 2000 / Published online: 8 September 2000     

B* production in Z decays

The decayB ^*B has been observed with the DELPHI detector at LEP, where theB ^* meson is produced inZ boson decays. The combination of inclusively reconstructedB mesons with well-measured converted photons yields a measurement of the flavour-averagedB ^*-B mass difference of 45.5±0.3 (stat.) ±0.8 (syst.) MeV/c². 95% confidence level upper limits at 6 MeV/c² are placed on both the isospin (i.e.B ⁺-B ⁰) and theB _s -B _ud splitting of the mass difference. The production ratio ofB ^* toB mesons inZ decays is measured to be 0.72±0.03 (stat.) ±0.06 (syst.). Limits on the production cross-section of other hypothetical excitedB hadron states decaying radiatively are established. The differentialB ^* cross section has been measured to be in good agreement with the averageb fragmentation, yielding an average fractionalB ^* energy of x _E =0.695±0.009 (stat.) ±0.013 (syst.). From the decay angular distribution the relative contribution of longitudinalB ^* polarisation states is measured to be _L/(_L + _T) = 0.32 ± 0.04 (stat.) ±0.03 (syst.).CICYT_AEN93-0832     

Measurement of the proton structure functionF2 from the 1993 HERA data

The ZEUS detector has been used to measure the proton structure functionF ₂. During 1993 HERA collided 26.7 GeV electrons on 820 GeV protons. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 0.54 pb^–1, representing a twenty fold increase in statistics compared to that of 1992. Results are presented for 7Q ²<>⁴ GeV² andx values as low as 3×10^–4. The rapid rise inF ₂ asx decreases observed previously is now studied in greater detail and persists forQ ² values up to 500 GeV².supported by Worldlab, Lausanne, Switzerland     

Measurement of the forward-backward asymmetry of charm and bottom quarks at theZ pole usingD*± mesons

The forward-backward asymmetries for the processes and at theZ resonance are measured using identifiedD ^*± mesons. In 905,000 selected hadronic events, taken in 1991 and 1992 with the DEL-PHI detector at LEP, 4757D ^*+D ⁰⁺ decays are reconstructed. Thec andb quark forward-backward asymmetries are determined to be:

Parity-violating electron deuteron scattering and the proton's neutral weak axial vector form factor

We report on a new measurement of the parity-violating asymmetry in quasielastic electron scattering from the deuteron at backward angles at Q2=0.038 (GeV/c)2. This quantity provides a determination of the neutral weak axial vector form factor of the nucleon, which can potentially receive large electroweak corrections. The measured asymmetry A=-3.51+/-0.57 (stat)+/-0.58 (syst) ppm is consistent with theoretical predictions. We also report on updated results of the previous experiment at Q2=0.091 (GeV/c)2, which are also consistent with theoretical predictions.     

First measurement of inclusive B→Xsη decays

We report a first measurement of inclusive B→Xsη decays, where Xs is a charmless state with unit strangeness. The measurement is based on a pseudoinclusive reconstruction technique and uses a sample of 657×10(6)BB pairs accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. For MXs < 2.6 GeV/c2, we measure a branching fraction of [26.1±3.0(stat)-2.1+1.9(syst)-7.1+4.0(model)]×10(-5) and a direct CP asymmetry of ACP=-0.13±0.04-0.03+0.02. Over half of the signal occurs in the range MXs > 1.8 GeV/c2.

本文采用Sevage脱蛋白法、酸溶液浸提法、碱溶液浸提法对啤酒废酵母细胞壁中的β-(1-3)葡聚糖作了提取试验,并对所获多糖进行生化特性分析,阐述了碱溶液浸提法是从啤酒酵母中回收高质量β-(1-3)葡聚糖的理想途径．
