An exact study based on the linear theory of elasticity is presented for the steady-state sound radiation characteristics of an arbitrarily thick radially inhomogeneous elastic isotropic hollow sphere, immersed in and filled with ideal compressible fluids, and subjected to an arbitrary axisymmetric time-harmonic driving force at its internal surface. A modal state equation with variable coefficients is set up in terms of appropriate displacement and stress functions and their spherical harmonics by means of the laminated approximation approach. Taylor’s expansion theorem is subsequently employed to solve the modal state equation, ultimately calculating a global transfer matrix. Numerical results are presented for a water-submerged/air-filled steel/zirconia FGM hollow sphere under an axisymmetric distributed internal pressure force. The effects of shell wall thickness, the material compositional gradient, frequency, and subtended polar angle of the internal pressure force on the far-field radiated pressure directivity patterns as well as the total radiated power are examined. It is demonstrated that the material gradient can significantly change the acoustical characteristics of hollow inhomogeneous sphere, especially for thick shells at high excitation frequencies. Limiting cases are considered and good agreements with available results as well as with the computations made by using a finite element package are obtained.  相似文献

This paper outlines the benefits of computational steering for high performance computing applications. Lattice-Boltzmann mesoscale fluid simulations of binary and ternary amphiphilic fluids in two and three dimensions are used to illustrate the substantial improvements which computational steering offers in terms of resource efficiency and time to discover new physics. We discuss details of our current steering implementations and describe their future outlook with the advent of computational grids.  相似文献

A general fully coupled three-dimensional vibro-acoustic model is developed to investigate the forced non-stationary acousto-structural response of a thin elastic plate of elliptical planform which is backed by a reverberant, rigid, and finite (closed) elliptic cylindrical acoustic enclosure, while under the action of general external transverse loads of arbitrary temporal and spatial variations. The Laplace transform with respect to the time coordinate is invoked, and the classical method of separation of variables in elliptic coordinates is used to obtain the transformed solutions as a linear combination of even and odd modes in terms of products of radial and angular Mathieu functions. A linear system of coupled algebraic equations is ultimately obtained, which is truncated and then solved numerically by implementing Durbin’s numerical Laplace transform inversion scheme. Detailed numerical simulations are conducted for the temporal histories of plate center-point displacement and on-axis cavity acoustic pressure for air-coupled elliptic aluminum plates of selected aspect ratios when subjected to external loadings of practical interest (i.e., an impulsive point load, a uniformly distributed pulse load, and a blast load). Also, acoustic radiation into the backing enclosure is examined by using appropriate 2D images of the internal sound field for selected cavity depths and plate eccentricities. The presented results confirm that the acousto-elastic characteristics of the coupled plate-cavity system are significantly influenced by the plate aspect ratio, cavity depth and the transverse loading configuration. Validity of the work is established through the computations made by using a commercial finite element package.  相似文献

The method of separation of variables in elliptical coordinates in conjunction with the translational addition theorems for Mathieu functions is used to investigate the free flexural vibrations of a fully clamped thin elastic panel of elliptical planform containing an elliptical cutout of arbitrary size, location, and orientation. The first five natural frequencies are calculated for various plate/cutout aspect ratios and selected cutout location/orientation parameters. Also, a number of representative vibration mode shapes are depicted in graphical form. The accuracy of solutions is demonstrated through proper convergence studies, and the validity of results is established with the aid of a commercial finite element package as well as by comparison with those in the existing literature.  相似文献

利用Q-开关Nd:YAG激光器产生的1.06 μm、10 ns的脉冲激光聚焦在空气中的Cu靶上,观测了激光诱导的Cu等离子体发射光谱.采用不同的激光能量,分析了波长范围为440 nm到540 nm的空间分辨发射光谱.在局部热力学平衡(LTE)条件近似下,根据谱线的相对强度,得到了等离子体电子温度约在104 K以上,给出了靶面附近电子温度的空间演化规律,并探讨了N(Ⅱ)500.52 nm谱线的谱线强度和半高全宽随激光能量的变化规律.  相似文献

An exact study of radiation of an acoustic field due to radial/axial vibrations of a baffled cylindrical piston, eccentrically positioned within a fluid-filled thin cylindrical elastic shell, into an external fluid medium is presented. This configuration, which is a realistic idealization of a liquid-filled cylindrical acoustic lens with a focal point inside the lens when used as a sound projector, is of practical importance with a multitude of possible applications in underwater acoustics and ocean engineering. The formulation utilizes the appropriate wave field expansions along with the translational addition theorems for cylindrical wave functions to develop a closed-form solution in the form of an infinite series. Numerical results reveal the key effects of excitation frequency, cap angle, radiator position (eccentricity), dynamics of the elastic shell, and cap surface velocity distribution on sound radiation.  相似文献

A three-dimensional analytical model based on Navier’s displacement equation of motion is developed to describe the free vibrations of a simply supported elastic isotropic solid elliptical cylinder of finite length. Helmholtz decomposition theorem is invoked and the classical technique of separation of variables in elliptical coordinates is employed to solve the subsequent uncoupled governing differential equations as products of ordinary and modified Mathieu functions. Inclusive numerical data are provided in a systematic manner for the first several symmetric/anti-symmetric eigen-frequencies as a function of cross sectional eccentricity for selected cylinder length ratios. The incidences of “mode crossing” and “frequency veering” among different modes of the same symmetry group as well as swapping of the corresponding mode shapes in the veering region are examined. Also, selected three dimensional deformation mode shapes are illustrated. The precision of calculations is checked by performing proper convergence studies, and the correctness of results is demonstrated using a commercial finite element software as well as by comparison with the information in the accessible literature. The collection of presented data is believed to be the first meticulous attempt to determine the free vibration frequencies of finite-length simply-supported elastic elliptical cylinders in an exact manner.  相似文献

The resonance scattering theory (RST) is applied to the problem of sound scattering from an elastic transversely isotropic solid sphere suspended in an ideal acoustic fluid medium. The normal mode expansion technique in conjunction with the Frobenius power series solution method is utilized to deal with the material anisotropy. The presented model, which degenerates to the simple isotropic solution in the case of very weak anisotropy, is initially employed to study sensitivity of various resonant modes of vibration to perturbations in elements of the stiffness matrix. Employing a rigid background subtraction, the target’s spectrum of resonances is extracted from the relevant modal backscattering form functions and subsequently traced and discussed through Regge pole trajectory plots. Also, the backscattering form function and resonance spectra, along with the dispersion curves for selected transversely isotropic solid spheres with distinct degrees of material anisotropy, are calculated and discussed. The various modes of propagation associated with the Rayleigh, Whispering Gallery, and fluid-borne Scholte-Stoneley surface waves are identified and examined. Gallic acid (GA), as a main phenolic acid, has been considered the main player on the human health, including the effects of reduction of cholesterol, depression of hypertension, anti-oxidation, anti-microbial, protection against cardiovascular disease and cancer. This study describes the development, electrochemical characterization and utilization of a novel functionalized graphene oxide/poly(p-aminohippuric acid)–sodium dodecyl sulfate nanocomposite modified glassy carbon electrode (APTS@GO/PPAH-SDS/GCE) for the electrocatalytic determination of GA. The synthesized nanocomposite was characterized by different techniques such as Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, thermo-gravimetric analysis and transmission electron microscopy. The electrochemical oxidation of GA was investigated by cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry and amperometry. The modified electrode showed a potent and persistent electron mediating behavior followed by well-defined oxidation peak of GA and the linear range of 0.006–2000 µmol L?1 with a detection limit of 1.7 nmol L?1 for GA (S/N?=?3) using amperometric method. Also, it was successfully used for the GA determination in the black tea and tab water as real samples. Additionally, this electrode exhibited good stability and reproducibility. The results imply that the APTS@GO/PPAH-SDS nanocomposite might be a promising candidate for practical applications in GA electrochemical detection.  相似文献
