Nanosystems in the static-fluctuation approximation Hubbard model

The anticommutator Green’s functions, correlation functions, and ground-state energies of two-, three-, and four-atom nanosystems are calculated in the static-fluctuation approximation, and comparison with exact results is made.     

The effect of exchange interaction on the energy spectrum of electrons in doped intentionally disordered superlattices

The electron density distribution is calculated for a doped superlattice with controlled vertical disorder caused by fluctuations of the layer thicknesses (quantum well widths) in the growth direction. At low temperatures, the exchange interaction leads to an increase in the scatter of quantum confinement levels and the formation of a soft gap in the electron density distribution over quantum wells of the superlattice.     

The effect of frozen soil layer thickness on thermal emission at the wavelengths 3.6–11 cm

The results of experimental investigation of temporal dynamics of radiobrightness temperature at the wavelengths 3.6, 5, and 11 cm in the course of frost penetration and thawing are presented for the soils with different humus content. Using the method of simulating emission from a horizontally stratified medium, it is shown that radiobrightness temperature variation is related to changes in the frozen soil layer thickness. It is noted that that dielectric permittivity of the frozen layer at the temperatures around 0 °C is controlled by non-frozen bound water, whose content depends on the soil type. It is also underlined that in certain cases proper interpretation of the experimental data requires inclusion of the soil moisture motion towards the cold front into consideration. __________ Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 9, pp. 5–10, September, 2006.     

Radiation beyond four space-time dimensions

We present a set of formulas describing classical radiation of a rank-s tensor field from an accelerated pointlike source in a flat space-time of an arbitrary even dimension d. These formulas allow straightforwardly and algorithmically evaluating the total intensity and radiated momentum for any s and d by hand or using a computer. The practical application of the obtained results is limited for s > 1 because the energy-momentum tensor for the pointlike source is not conserved. Organomagnesium synthesis of vinyl compounds of silicon,germanium and tin

Summary It was shown that condensation of Normant's reagent (CH₂=CHMgBr) with alkylchlorosilanes, -germanes, and -stannanes results in the synthesis of vinyl derivatives of silanes, germanes, and stannanes containing one, two, or three, vinyl radicals.     

The theory of thermionic conductivity in alkaline halide crystals

The kinetic equations developed by the authors are used to explain the phenomenon of thermionic conductivity. The relaxation of A- and K-dipoles in strong fields is considered. The binding energy of the polar complexes is investigated within the framework of elasticity theory. Synthesis of silalactams

The action of ammonia or primary aliphatic amines on dialky-lchlorosilyl-substituted carboxylic acid chlorides has given silalactams and N-alkylsilalactams, which are readily hydrolyzed by water with the formation of siloxanedicarboxamides.
