SAFT-dimer (SAFT-D) theory is reformulated to yield an improved equation of state for the hard sphere chain fluid. Two sets of the equation of state are proposed by employing Chiew's expressions for the contact values of the m hard sphere site-site correlation function g(σ). Comparison with molecular simulation data shows that the improved SAFT-D equation of state predicts the compressibility factor more accurately than Ghonasgi and Chapman's equation of state. It has been shown that SAFT-dimer theory can be applied readily to fused hard sphere chain fluids by considering the correct value of the effective chain length (m*). SAFT-dimer theory is also extended to the 2-dimensional tangent and fused hard disc chain fluids. For the fused hard disc dimer fluid, the SAFT equation of state is found to be more accurate than the Boublik hard disc dimer equation of state. For tangent hard disc chain fluids, the results obtained from SAFT-dimer theory are compared with Monte Carlo results for 5-mers and with GFD theory for 4-mers, 8-mers and 16-mers.  相似文献

A new coordination number model is proposed for square-well fluids at λ?=?1.5. The model modifies the theory previously developed for the coordination number of square-well fluids derived on the basis of the generalized Van der Waals theory by Largo and Solana. The present work proposes a new formula for the maximum reduced density and a new method to solve the integral corresponding to coordination number of hard sphere fluids. Thermodynamic quantities such as pair correlation function at contact, excess internal energy and constant volume excess heat capacity are determined employing the model. Good agreement is achieved between theoretical results and Monte Carlo (M.C.) data. As expected, the results of the excess heat capacity are poor at low temperatures.  相似文献

The thermodynamic activities of sodium and potassium were determined by vapour-phase absorption spectrophotometry of atomic resonance lines. Both components exhibit significant positive deviations from ideality. Excess Gibbs energies computed from the activity data were combined with available heat-of-mixing data to yield values for excess entropies. The entropy of mixing which was found to be ideal in the sodium-rich liquid alloys provides no support for the earlier speculations about the existence of Na2K molecules therein. The partial molar excess entropy of sodium in dilute solution in potassium was found to be surprisingly large and negative for a system of this type. A plausible model, involving sodium-sodium pairing, is proposed to account for the loss of configurational entropy.  相似文献

Ohmic contact formation on n-GaN using a novel Ti/Al/W2B/Ti/Au metallization scheme was studied using contact resistance, scanning electron microscopy and Auger electron spectroscopy measurements. A minimum specific contact resistivity of 7 × 10−6 Ω cm2 was achieved at an annealing temperature of 800 °C. The contact resistance was essentially independent of measurement temperature, indicating that field emission plays a dominant role in the current transport .The Ti began to outdiffuse to the surface at temperatures of ∼500 °C, while at 800 °C the Al also began to intermix within the contact. By 1000 °C, the contact showed a reacted appearance and AES showed almost complete intermixing of the metallization. The contact resistance showed excellent stability for extended periods at 200 °C, which simulates the type of device operating temperature that might be expected for operation of GaN-based power electronic devices.  相似文献

The MgB2 superconductor, synthesized using solid-state and liquid-phase sintering methods, have been characterized for various properties. The upper critical field, irreversibility line and critical current density have been determined using magnetization data. The current-voltage characteristics recorded under an applied magnetic field revealed the existence of vortex glass transition. The surface analysis using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy shows that MgB2 is sensitive to atmospheric degradation.  相似文献

A somewhat more general analysis for solving spatial propagation characteristics of intense Gaussian beam is presented and applied to the laser beam propagation in step-index profile as well as parabolic profile dielectric fibers with Kerr non-linearity. Considering self-action due to saturating and non-saturating non-linearity in the refractive index, a general theory has been developed without any kind of power series expansion for the dielectric constant as is usually done in other theories that make use of paraxial approximation. Result of the steady state self-focusing analysis indicates that the Kerr non-linearity acts as a perturbation on the radial inhomogeneity due to fiber geometry. Analysis indicates that the paraxial rays and peripheral rays focus at different points, indicating aberration effect. Calculated critical power matches with the experimentally reported result.  相似文献

A catalyst-free, one-pot synthesis of bis-spirooxindoles has been carried out by a three-component reaction of bis-isatins, malononitrile, and various cyclic enolizable carbonyl compounds in ethylene glycol at 100?°C. The protocol provides an easy and simple route for the synthesis of such complex compounds, in short reaction times and high yields. Dynamics between particles is governed by Lorentz and CPT symmetry. There is a violation of Parity (P) and CP symmetry at low levels. The unified theory, that includes particle physics and quantum gravity, may be expected to be covariant with Lorentz and CPT symmetry. At high enough energies, will the unified theory display violation of any symmetry? The Standard Model Extension (SME), with Lorentz and CPT violating terms, has been suggested to include particle dynamics. The minimal SME in the pure photon sector is considered in order to calculate the Casimir effect at finite temperature.  相似文献
