First-principles calculations show that [NH(3)] molecules play crucial roles as both activator for the break-up of B-H bond and supplier of protic H for the establishment of dihydrogen bonding, which could facilitate the dehydrogenation of Ca(NH(2)BH(3))(2)·2NH(3) or Mg(NH(2)BH(3))(2)·NH(3) occurring at lower temperatures compared to those of Ca(NH(2)BH(3))(2) and Mg(NH(2)BH(3))(2). Moreover, the calculations of Helmholtz Free energy and [NH(3)] molecule removal energy evidence that coordination between [NH(3)] and Mg cation is stronger than that between [NH(3)] and Ca cation; therefore, Mg(NH(2)BH(3))(2)·NH(3) will undergo directly dehydrogenation rather than deammoniation at lower temperatures. 相似文献

Effects of Ag and Ti nanoparticle coatings on resonant Raman scattering in various ZnO thin films are presented. The longitudinal optical (LO) phonons, irrespective of the ZnO quality, exhibit an enhancement and a weakening by the Ag and Ti nanoparticle coatings, respectively. The enhancement (weakening) is always accompanied by a reduced (an increased) intensity ratio of the second to first‐order LO phonons, which can be associated with changes in the electron‐phonon coupling strength in the probed area of ZnO. Angle‐resolved X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy provides evidence for the bending of the surface energy bands and their changes induced by the metal coatings. The effect of metal nanoparticle coatings on the Raman scattering of ZnO is thus attributed to the changes in the surface electric field. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

In this paper we describe experiments conducted with high-power lasers that are attempting to replicate, for a very short time and in miniature, conditions found in the Sun. Experiments to date have reached conditions in the outer part of the Sun. To reach the Sun's centre requires compression of material to very much greater than solid density and heating to over ten million degrees. A process methodology has been adopted to bond GaN thin films to Si(100) substrates using the combination of laser lift-off and direct wafer fusion. Using optimum excimer laser conditions, 2–10 μm of GaN is lifted-off from sapphire. The lifted-off thin film is cleared from gallium residual and then suitably treated in a hydrofluoric, nitric and acetic acid mixture to render the surface hydrophilic. This treatment provides van der Waals bonds to immediately contact bond with SiO2–Si(100) substrate at room temperature. The bonds are further strengthened by a high temperature annealing at 650 C for 2 h. The structural and mechanical characteristics of the bonded structure reveal uniform and high quality bonding. The optical characteristics of the transferred bonded film on SiO2–Si(100) substrate exhibit similar properties to that of GaN on sapphire. In a similar manner, high-brightness blue LEDs were transferred from sapphire to SiO2–Si(100) substrate with no deterioration in the electrical and optical performance of the device. 相似文献

Site-directed spin labeling of proteins by chemical modification of engineered cysteine residues with the molecule MTSSL (1-oxyl-2,2,5,5-tetramethylpyrroline-3-methyl methanethiosulfonate) has been an invaluable tool for conducting double electron electron resonance (DEER) spectroscopy experiments. However, this method is generally limited to recombinant proteins with a limited number of reactive Cys residues that when modified will not impair protein function. Here, we present a method that allows for spin labeling of protein-nucleotide-binding sites by adenosine diphosphate (ADP) modified with a nitroxide moiety on the β-phosphate (ADP-β-S-SL). The synthesis of this ADP analog is straightforward and isolation of pure product is readily achieved on a standard reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system. Furthermore, analyses of isolated ADP-β-S-SL by LC–mass spectrometry confirm that the molecule is very stable under ambient conditions. The crystal structure of ADP-β-S-SL bound to the ATP pocket of the histidine kinase CheA reveals specific targeting of the probe, whose nitroxide moiety is mobile on the protein surface. Continuous wave and pulsed-ESR measurements demonstrate the capability of ADP-β-S-SL to report on active site environment and provide reliable DEER distance constraints. 相似文献
