Preparation and properties of novel polyhydrazides

A new class of polyhydrazides having aromatic as well as aliphatic units has been synthesized by low-temperature solution polycondensation from equimolar amounts of diacid chloride and dihydrazides in HMPT as solvent. These polyhydrazides have poor solubilities and their intrisnsic viscosities ranged from 0.2 to 0.6 dl/g. X-ray diffractograms of these polyhydrazides show that the polymers having terephthalic acid dihydrazide unit were more crystalline and all the polymers have densities in the range of 1.2-1.8 g/cm³. Thermogravimetric analysis of these polyhydrazides showed initial weight losses commencing at 220–300°C in both air and nitrogen.     

NMR spectra and structure of phospeorylated isothiocyanates

Conclusions The chlorides of dialkyl- and alkylenephosphorous acids react with trimethylsilyl isothiocyanate to give the isothiocyanates of the corresponding phosphorous acids. Gas-Sensitive Properties of SnO2-Based Thin Films Obtained from Film-Forming Solutions

Gas-sensitive properties of SnO₂ thin-film materials doped with antimony(III) with respect to the reducing gases CO, CH₄, and H₂ were studied. The materials were obtained from film-forming solutions of Sn(II) and Sb(III) complexes with acetylacetone.     

Production of Magnetic Supports Coated with Silica Layer from Dispersed Cobalt and Zinc-Nickel Ferrites

The possibility of obtaining dispersed powders of cobalt and zinc-nickel ferrites with particle size of 1-4 m by thermal treatment of the corresponding oxalates was analyzed. Changes in porous characteristics of the ferrites obtained in their thermal treatment were studied.     

Absolute fission yields in the fast neutron induced fission of 233U by track etch combined with gamma-ray spectrometry

The absolute fission yields of twenty seven fission products were determined in the fast neutron induced fission of ²³³U, employing track etch in combination with gamma-ray spectrometry. The total number of fissions was measured by registering the fission tracks on a small strip of lexan, a solid state track detector. The fission products were analysed by gamma-ray spectrometry. The measured yield values were compared to the ENDF/B-VI compilation and show a good agreement.
