A series of liquid crystalline compounds having the difluoropropyleneoxy moiety (–OCF2C2H4–) as a linking group has been synthesized. The physical properties, i.e. dielectric anisotropy, birefringence, viscosity and phase transition temperatures, have been measured. This novel class of compounds shows a larger negative dielectric anisotropy than the corresponding compounds having a propyleneoxy (–OC3H6–) linking group. Their dielectric properties may be explained by the combined effect of fluorine atoms with large electron negativities and the electron donating feature of an oxygen atom substituted on the same carbon atom. The semi‐empirical quantum calculation method (AM1) also confirmed this dielectric behaviour of the difluoropropyleneoxy linkage group.  相似文献

Chiral helical polymers have been expected to exhibit optical activity with a significantly large optical rotation power. In this paper polymethylphenylethylcarbodiimides (Poly-PhEMCDI) with helical structure were synthesized by the insertion polymerization of a corresponding chiral monomeric carbodiimide initiated by a copper complex. The circular dichroism spectra and optical rotation power induced by the ordered rigid main chain helical structure of polycarbodiimides, in solution and as cast films, were studied. Polycarbodiimides have a rigid rod helical structure and form lyotropic liquid crystal (LLC) in organic solvents such as dichloromethane (DCM), chloroform and THF. The LLC phase was studied using polarizing optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction. A chiral nematic phase was formed in DCM and chloroform in the concentration range 20–36%. Spherulites were formed in more concentrated solution. The formation of a LLC phase in polycarbodiimides organic solutions makes it possible to align the polymer helical chain to form an ordered film for electro-optical applications.  相似文献

To obtain information on the environmental impact of materials eluted from volcanic ashes of Mt. Oyama, Miyake Island, which erupted in July 2000, the dissolution behaviours of heavy metals and rare-earth elements from the volcanic ashes were examined. The most important characteristic of the Mt. Oyama eruption is that sulphur dioxide (SO2) gas has been continuously released, and all persons living on Miyake Island have been required to evacuate. To estimate in terms of the volcanic eruption using SO2 gas, the ash nature in Mt. Usu, Hokkaido, was also examined and compared with that in Mt. Oyama. When rain water mixed the ashes, the water from the ashes of Mt. Oyama became acidic because of the sulphuric acid. Therefore, SO2 gas in Mt. Oyama can accelerate the dissolution of protons and heavy metals in the ashes, whereas the rain water in Mt. Usu was not acidic and the dissolution of the heavy metals was not so evident compared with that in the case of Mt. Oyama. With this sulphuric acid, heavy metals such as As, Cd, Pb and Hg in the ashes in Mt. Oyama easily dissolved owing to the low pH. The ashes in Mt. Oyama had been released for eight years and the amount of fallen ashes was estimated to be 33 billion tons. The weights of the harmful heavy metals in the volcanic ashes, such as As, Cd, Pb and Hg, were estimated to be 3.8?×?102, 1.3?×?103, 1.1?×?103 and 29?kg, respectively, and these heavy metals were dissolved and diluted in seawater. Therefore, the concentration and species (chemical form) of these metals should be carefully monitored in the future. Moreover, SO2 gas, which has a direct effect on human health and has been monitored continuously, causes other effects, such as facilitation of metal ion elution and rock aeration.  相似文献

The reactions of 1,1-disubstituted alkenes with 4-hydroxyquinolin-2(1H)-ones under both Mn(III)-catalyzed aerobic oxidation conditions at room temperature and Mn(III)-mediated oxidation conditions at reflux temperature are described. The Mn(III)-catalyzed aerobic oxidation afforded bis(hydroperoxyethyl)quinolinones and azatrioxa[4.4.3]propellanes, while the oxidation with Mn(OAc)3·2H2O produced furo[3,2-c]quinolin-4-one analogues. The existence of a substituent at the 3-position of the 4-hydroxyquinolin-2(1H)-ones prevented a double reaction with the alkenes, and (endoperoxy)quinolinones and/or (hydroperoxyethyl)quinolinones were obtained under the Mn(III)-catalyzed aerobic conditions, while furo[3,2-c]quinolinone hemiacetals and vinylquinolinones were selectively produced under the Mn(III)-mediated oxidation conditions depending on the reaction temperature and times. Cyclic assembly of quinolinone-related 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds such as dihydropyridinones, pyranones, and dimedone derivatives was also examined under elevated temperature conditions.  相似文献

Novel tetra-cationic xanthene derivative (Flu) was synthesized. Its adsorption and photochemical behaviors on the clay surface were investigated. Fluorescence quantum yield (?f) and fluorescence lifetime were 0.50 and 2.9 ns for Flu/clay complex. ?f of Flu was enough high (>0.1) even at high density conditions (0.080 molecules nm−2). It is supposed that the strong interaction between clay and Flu by the ‘Size-Matching Effect’ realizes the highly emissive clay complexes at high density adsorption condition by a suppression of a molecular aggregation, which tends to decrease the photochemical activity.  相似文献

The aim of this study is to clarify the effect of doped metal type on CO2 reduction characteristics of TiO2 with NH3 and H2O. Cu and Pd have been selected as dopants for TiO2. In addition, the impact of molar ratio of CO2 to reductants NH3 and H2O has been investigated. A TiO2 photocatalyst was prepared by a sol-gel and dip-coating process, and then doped with Cu or Pd fine particles by using the pulse arc plasma gun method. The prepared Cu/TiO2 film and Pd/TiO2 film were characterized by SEM, EPMA, TEM, STEM, EDX, EDS and EELS. This study also has investigated the performance of CO2 reduction under the illumination condition of Xe lamp with or without ultraviolet (UV) light. As a result, it is revealed that the CO2 reduction performance with Cu/TiO2 under the illumination condition of Xe lamp with UV light is the highest when the molar ratio of CO2/NH3/H2O = 1:1:1 while that without UV light is the highest when the molar ratio of CO2/NH3/H2O = 1:0.5:0.5. It is revealed that the CO2 reduction performance of Pd/TiO2 is the highest for the molar ratio of CO2/NH3/H2O = 1:1:1 no matter the used Xe lamp was with or without UV light. The molar quantity of CO per unit weight of photocatalyst for Cu/TiO2 produced under the illumination condition of Xe lamp with UV light was 10.2 μmol/g, while that for Pd/TiO2 was 5.5 μmol/g. Meanwhile, the molar quantity of CO per unit weight of photocatalyst for Cu/TiO2 produced under the illumination condition of Xe lamp without UV light was 2.5 μmol/g, while that for Pd/TiO2 was 3.5 μmol/g. This study has concluded that Cu/TiO2 is superior to Pd/TiO2 from the viewpoint of the molar quantity of CO per unit weight of photocatalyst as well as the quantum efficiency.  相似文献

We present a sophisticated optical design method for reducing the number of photodetectors for a specific sensing task. The chosen design parameter is the point spread function, and the selected task is object recognition. The point spread function is optimized iteratively with a genetic algorithm for object recognition based on a neural network. In the experimental demonstration, binary classification of face and non-face datasets was performed with a single measurement using two photodetectors. A spatial light modulator operating in the amplitude modulation mode was provided in the imaging optics and was used to modulate the point spread function. In each generation of the genetic algorithm, the classification accuracy with a pattern displayed on the spatial light modulator was fed-back to the next generation to find better patterns. The proposed method increased the accuracy by about 30 % compared with a conventional imaging system in which the point spread function was the delta function. This approach is practically useful for compressing the cost, size, and observation time of optical sensors in specific applications, and robust for imperfections in optical elements.  相似文献

The loosely cross-linked poly(acryloyl-L -proline methyl ester) gel, which is known as one of the typical thermo-responsive gels, shows a volume transition around approximately 14°C in pure water. This volume transition is shifted to higher temperature by treatment in aqueous sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). The analysis of the swelling-temperature curve (frequency distribution) was performed according to a moment analysis, in which the area under the swelling-temperature curve (AUC), mean swelling transition temperature (MSTT) and variance of swelling transition temperature (VSTT) were calculated. It is shown that the apparent volume transition temperature can be estimated from MSTT and that VSTT can be used to characterize the shape of the corresponding curves.  相似文献

Recently, there has been a strong demand for technologies that use hydrogen as an energy carrier, instead of fossil fuels. Hence, new and effective hydrogen storage technologies are attracting increasing attention. Formic acid (FA) is considered an effective liquid chemical for hydrogen storage because it is easier to handle than solid or gaseous materials. This review presents recent advances in research into the development of homogeneous catalysts, primarily focusing on hydrogen generation by FA dehydrogenation. Notably, this review will aid in the development of useful catalysts, thereby accelerating the transition to a hydrogen-based society.  相似文献
