Pd/Y multilayers are high‐reflectance mirrors designed to work in the 7.5–11 nm wavelength range. Samples, prepared by magnetron sputtering, are deposited with or without B4C barrier layers located at the interfaces of the Pd and Y layers to reduce interdiffusion, which is expected from calculating the mixing enthalpy of Pd and Y. Grazing‐incident X‐ray reflectometry is used to characterize these multilayers. B4C barrier layers are found to be effective in reducing Pd–Y interdiffusion. Details of the composition of the multilayers are revealed by hard X‐ray photoemission spectroscopy with X‐ray standing wave effects. This consists of measuring the photoemission intensity from the samples by performing an angular scan in the region corresponding to the multilayer period and an incident photon energy according to Bragg's law. The experimental results indicate that Pd does not chemically react with B nor C at the Pd–B4C interface while Y does react at the Y–B4C interface. The formation of Y–B or Y–C chemical compounds could be the reason why the interfaces are stabilized. By comparing the experimentally obtained angular variation of the characteristic photoemission with theoretical calculations, the depth distribution of each component element can be interpreted. 相似文献

We report on the most complete investigation to date of the -electron properties at the transition in elemental Ce by resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS). The Ce 2p3d-RIXS spectra were measured directly in the bulk material as a function of pressure through the transition. The spectra were simulated within the Anderson impurity model. The occupation number n(f) and f double occupancy were derived from the calculations in both gamma and alpha phases in the ground state. We find that the electronic structure changes result mainly from band formation of 4f electrons which concurs with reduced electron correlation and increased Kondo screening at high pressure. 相似文献

Symmetrically substituted oligophenylenevinylene (OPV) derivatives bearing terminal p-nitrophenylhydrazone groups have been prepared and used for the synthesis of dumbbell-shaped bis(pyrazolino[60]fullerene)-OPV systems. In these triad arrays, the OPV-type fluorescence is dramatically quenched as a consequence of ultrafast OPV-->C60 singlet energy transfer. In its turn the fullerene singlet state is quenched by pyrazoline-->C60 electron transfer, in line with the behavior of the corresponding reference fullerene molecule. The occurrence of electron transfer in the multicomponent arrays is evidenced by recovery of fullerene fluorescence at 77 K in CH2Cl2 and in toluene at 298 K. Under these conditions the OPV-->C60 energy transfer is unaffected. The rate of this process turns out to be higher for the OPV trimer than for the corresponding pentameric OPV arrays, in agreement with energy-transfer theory expectations. Scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and scanning force microscopy (SFM) revealed that the bis(pyrazolino[60]fullerene)-OPV can self-assemble into ordered layered crystalline architectures on the basal plane of highly oriented pyrolitic graphite. 相似文献

FT-IR and 2D correlation spectroscopy were employed to study the microstructural changes occurring during phase transitions of a liquid crystal poly(amidoamine) codendrimer (PAMAM (L1)16(L2)16) generation 3, functionalized on the terminal groups by one-chain promesogenic calamitic units (4-(4'-decyloxybenzoyloxy)salicylaldehyde (L1)) and two-chain promesogenic calamitic units (4-(3',4'-didecyloxybenzoyloxy)salicylaldehyde (L2)). Spectral modifications associated with molecular conformation rearrangements allowing for molecular shape change on going from a liquid-crystalline organization to another were found. The transition temperatures were calculated, and they are in good agreement with the DSC data. Spectral analysis gives evidence of the LC phase transitions and to an additional transition associated with the existence of conformers. Various types of hydrogen bonding have been established. 相似文献

Reaction of amino acids with N-methyl-N-(tert-butyldimethylsilyl)trifluoroaceamide (MTbSTFA) in acetonitrile affords good yields of amino acid derivatives with excellent gas chromatographic and mass spectrometric properties. The single-step derivatization procedure is highly reproducible. The TBDMS amino acids are stable at room temperature for at least three days. Only a single peak is observed for each amino acid. The procedure allows simultaneous analysis of asparagine and glutamine together with other serum amino acids. Separation is achieved on a borosilicate glass capillary coated with OV-1. The mass spectra of the TBDMS amino acids possess characteristic diagnostic ions. These properties were used in the sensitive detection by GC-MS and SIM-GC-MS of GABA and pipecolic acid in the serum of a newborn suspected of a Zellweger-type syndrome, which could not be detected by other methods. 相似文献

We investigate the magnetic properties of archetypal transition-metal oxides MnO, FeO, CoO, and NiO under very high pressure by x-ray emission spectroscopy at the Kbeta line. We observe a strong modification of the magnetism in the megabar range in all the samples except NiO. The results are analyzed within a multiplet approach including charge-transfer effects. The spectral changes are well accounted for by changes of the ligand field acting on the d electrons and allows us to extract the d-hybridization strength, O-2p bandwidth and ionic crystal field across the magnetic transition. This approach allows first-hand insight into the mechanism of the pressure-induced spin transition. 相似文献
