A novel time-dependent percolation transition has been observed in sheared carbon nanotube (CNT) composites. At a fixed CNT filler loading, the electrical conductivities of CNT composites can change abruptly as much as 8 orders of magnitude as the shear processing time increases. Microstructure characterization shows that the CNTs have aligned along the shear flow direction, which leads to the dramatic increase of the percolation threshold and thereby the dramatic decreases of the electrical conductivities. Our results highlight the great importance of understanding the response of CNT dispersion states to the processing conditions.  相似文献

Liquid 1-octanol and 2-octanol have been investigated by infrared (IR), Raman, and Brillouin experiments in the 10-90 degrees C temperature range. Self-association properties of the neat liquids are described in terms of a three-state model in which OH oscillators differently implicated in the formation of H-bonds are considered. The results are in quantitative agreement with recent computational studies for 1-octanol. The H-bond probability is obtained by Raman data, and a stochastic model of H-bonded chains gives a consistent picture of the self-association characteristics. Average values of hydrogen bond enthalpy and entropy are evaluated. The H-bond formation enthalpy is ca. -22 kJ/mol and is slightly dependent on the structural isomerism. The different degree of self-association for the two octanols is attributed to entropic factors. The more shielded 2-isomer forms larger fractions of smaller, less cooperative, and more ordered clusters, likely corresponding to cyclic structures. Signatures of a different cluster organization are also evidenced by comparing the H-bond energy dispersion (HBED) of OH stretching IR bands. A limiting cooperative H-bond enthalpy value of 27 kJ/mol is found. It is also proposed that the different H-bonding capabilities may modulate the extent of interaggregate hydrocarbon interactions, which is important in explaining the differences in molar volume, compressibility, and vaporization enthalpy for the two isomers.  相似文献

A certain kind of vectorial fields with position-independent stochastic behavior is introduced, for which several main features are preserved upon free propagation. For this set of random electromagnetic fields, it is shown that the uniform degree of polarization, the maximum attainable visibility in a Young experiment, and the expansion of the cross-spectral density tensor as the sum of totally-polarized and unpolarized terms are properties that apply for any propagation distance. [Structure: see text] Chemoselective and completely stereoselective denitrogenation of optically pure pyrazolines, derived from 3-sulfinylfuran-2(5H)-ones, into cyclopropanes can be achieved under substoichiometric Yb(OTf)3 catalysis. Reactions evolve in almost quantitative yields with complete retention of the configuration at both carbons flanking the nitrogen atoms. The resulting enantiomerically pure polysubstituted cyclopropanes, containing up to five substituens, can be desulfinylated with Ra-Ni providing polysubstituted cyclopropanecarboxylic acid derivatives.  相似文献

Different sufficient conditions for stochastic comparisons between random vectors have been described in the literature. In particular, conditions for the comparison of random vectors having the same copula, i.e., the same dependence structure, may be found in Müller and Scarsini (2001). Here we provide conditions for the comparison, in the usual stochastic order sense and in other weaker stochastic orders, of two time transformed exponential bivariate lifetimes having different copulas. A new algorithm for the Maximum Entropy Method (MEM) is proposed for recovering the lifetime distribution in time-resolved fluorescence decays. The procedure is based on seeking the distribution that maximizes the Skilling entropy function subjected to the chi-squared constraint χ 2?~?1 through iterative linear approximations, LU decomposition of the Hessian matrix of the lagrangian problem and the Golden Section Search for backtracking. The accuracy of this algorithm has been investigated through comparisons with simulated fluorescence decays both of narrow and broad lifetime distributions. The proposed approach is capable to analyse datasets of up to 4,096 points with a discretization ranging from 100 to 1,000 lifetimes. A good agreement with non linear fitting estimates has been observed when the method has been applied to multi-exponential decays. Remarkable results have been also obtained for the broad lifetime distributions where the position is recovered with high accuracy and the distribution width is estimated within 3 %. These results indicate that the procedure proposed generates MEM lifetime distributions that can be used to quantify the real heterogeneity of lifetimes in a sample.  相似文献

Background

Several studies have shown that Stroop interference is stronger in children than in adults. However, in a standard Stroop paradigm, stimulus interference and response interference are confounded. The purpose of the present study was to determine whether interference at the stimulus level and the response level are subject to distinct maturational patterns across childhood. Three groups of children (6–7 year-olds, 8–9 year-olds, and 10–12 year-olds) and a group of adults performed a manual Color-Object Stroop designed to disentangle stimulus interference and response interference. This was accomplished by comparing three trial types. In congruent (C) trials there was no interference. In stimulus incongruent (SI) trials there was only stimulus interference. In response incongruent (RI) trials there was stimulus interference and response interference. Stimulus interference and response interference were measured by a comparison of SI with C, and RI with SI trials, respectively. Event-related potentials (ERPs) were measured to study the temporal dynamics of these processes of interference.

Results

There was no behavioral evidence for stimulus interference in any of the groups, but in 6–7 year-old children ERPs in the SI condition in comparison with the C condition showed an occipital P1-reduction (80–140 ms) and a widely distributed amplitude enhancement of a negative component followed by an amplitude reduction of a positive component (400–560 ms). For response interference, all groups showed a comparable reaction time (RT) delay, but children made more errors than adults. ERPs in the RI condition in comparison with the SI condition showed an amplitude reduction of a positive component over lateral parietal (-occipital) sites in 10–12 year-olds and adults (300–540 ms), and a widely distributed amplitude enhancement of a positive component in all age groups (680–960 ms). The size of the enhancement correlated positively with the RT response interference effect.

Conclusion

Although processes of stimulus interference control as measured with the color-object Stroop task seem to reach mature levels relatively early in childhood (6–7 years), development of response interference control appears to continue into late adolescence as 10–12 year-olds were still more susceptible to errors of response interference than adults.  相似文献

The formal insertion of alkenes into aromatic chloro- and bromoalkynes takes place under cationic gold catalysis. This haloalkynylation reaction can be performed with cyclic, gem-disubstituted and monosubstituted alkenes, using BINAP, triazolo[4,3-b]isoquinolin-3-ylidene ligands or SPhos, respectively. The products were isolated in moderate to excellent yields and with complete diastereo- and regioselectivity; the halogen atom bonding the more substituted carbon of the alkene. Preliminary experiments showed that the enantioselective haloalkynylation of cyclopentene can be performed with (S)-BINAP to afford the insertion products with moderate to good enantioselectivities.  相似文献
