The combinatorial screening of different metallic nanoparticles as electrocatalysts was investigated and efficiently applied for the detection of hydrazine. In a first step, glassy carbon microspheres decorated with metallic nanoparticles (Au, Pd, and Ag) were abrasively attached on the surface of a basal plane pyrolytic electrode giving a ‘multi–metal’ nanoarray. In a second step, electrodes modified with only one type of metallic nanoparticles allowed the identification of Pd as the unique catalytic material. In addition, a carbon‐epoxy composite electrode loaded with the Pd nanoparticles was then constructed for a practical use. The carbon‐epoxy composite nanoarray electrode was found to have excellent characteristics as for the sensing of hydrazine with a limit of detection of 2 μM.  相似文献

We present measurements of branching fractions and CP-violating asymmetries in B0-->rho(+/-)pi(-/+) and B0-->rho-K+ decays. The results are obtained from a data sample of 88.9 x 10(6) Upsilon(4S)-->BB decays collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory. From a time-dependent maximum likelihood fit we measure the branching fractions B(B0-->rho(+/-)pi(-/+))=[22.6+/-1.8 (stat)+/-2.2 (syst)]x10(-6) and B(B0-->rho-K+)=(7.3 -1.2( +1.3)+/-1.3)x10(-6), and the CP-violating charge asymmetries A(rhopi)(CP)=-0.18+/-0.08+/-0.03 and A(rhoK)(CP)=0.28+/-0.17+/-0.08, the direct CP violation parameter C(rhopi)=0.36+/-0.18+/-0.04 and the mixing-induced CP violation parameter S(rhopi)=0.19+/-0.24+/-0.03, and the dilution parameters DeltaC(rhopi)=0.28 -0.19( +0.18)+/-0.04 and DeltaS(rhopi)=0.15+/-0.25+/-0.03.  相似文献

We present measurements of branching fractions and charge asymmetries for the decays B-->etaK*, where K* indicates a spin 0, 1, or 2 Kpi system. The data sample corresponds to 344x10(6) BB pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider at SLAC. We measure the branching fractions (in units of 10(-6): B(B0-->etaK*0(892))=16.5+/-1.1+/-0.8, B(B+-->etaK*+(892))=18.9+/-1.8+/-1.3, B(B0-->eta(Kpi)0*0)=11.0+/-1.6+/-1.5, B(B+-->eta(Kpi)0*+)=18.2+/-2.6+/-2.6, B(B0-->etaK2*0(1430))=9.6+/-1.8+/-1.1, and B(B+-->etaK2*+(1430))=9.1+/-2.7+/-1.4. We also determine the charge asymmetries for all decay modes.  相似文献

A search for the lepton-flavor-violating decay of the tau into three charged leptons has been performed using 91.5 fb(-1) of data collected at an e(+)e(-)center-of-mass energy around 10.58 GeV with the BABAR detector at the SLAC storage ring PEP-II. In all six decay modes considered, the numbers of events found in data are compatible with the background expectations. Upper limits on the branching fractions are set in the range (1-3)x10(-7) at 90% confidence level.  相似文献

Magnetic nanoparticles consisting of undecanoate-capped magnetite (average diameter ca. 5 nm) are used to selectively gate diffusional and surface-confined electrochemical reactions. A two-phase system consisting of an aqueous buffer solution and a toluene phase that includes the suspended undecanoate-capped magnetic nanoparticles is used to control the interfacial properties of the electrode surface. Two different phenomena are controlled by attraction of the magnetic nanoparticles to the electrode by means of an external magnet: (i) The attracted magnetic nanoparticles form a hydrophobic layer on the electrode surface resulting in the blocking of diffusional electrochemical processes, while retaining the redox functions of surface-confined electrochemical units. (ii) For certain surface-immobilized redox species (e.g., quinones), the attraction of the magnetic nanoparticles to the electrode surface alters the mechanism of the process from an aqueous-type electrochemistry to a dry organic-phase-type electrochemistry. Also, bioelectrocatalytic and electrocatalytic transformations at the electrode are controlled by means of attraction of the magnetic nanoparticles to the electrode surface. Controlling the catalytic functions of the modified electrode by means of the magnetic nanoparticles attracted to the electrode is exemplified in two different directions: (i) Blocking of the bioelectrocatalyzed oxidation of glucose by glucose oxidase (GOx) using a surface-confined ferrocene monolayer as electron-transfer mediator. (ii) Activation of the microperoxidase-11 electrocatalyzed reduction of cumene hydroperoxide. In the latter system, the hydrophobic magnetic nanoparticles adsorb toluene, and the hydrophobic matrix acts as a carrier for cumene hydroperoxide to the electrode surface modified with the microperoxidase-11 catalyst.  相似文献

PbO-Bi2O3-Ga2O3 glasses present interesting properties such as good transmission in the mid-infrared region, high magnetic Verdet constant and non-linear properties. The processing of these heavy-metal-oxide (HMO) glasses is limited by the high corrosive nature of the melt, even in relation to noble metal crucibles. In this work, three kinds of ceramic crucibles (alumina, tin oxide and zirconia) were tested for melting HMO glasses. The main physical properties of the prepared glasses, such as the characteristic temperatures, optical transmission were studied in function of the crucible nature, time/temperature melting parameters. The incorporation of crucible material in the glasses was determined by ICP and atomic absorption. The maximum glass contamination from the crucible was 2.9, 1.6 and 3.6 mol% for Al2O3, SnO2 and ZrO2 crucibles, respectively, when melting was done at 900 °C/240 min, for zirconia crucibles and at 1000 °C/60 min, for the other two crucibles. The evolution of the physical properties was discussed as a function of contamination degree.  相似文献

We present a study of the decay B--->D(*0)K(*-) based on a sample of 86 x 10(6) Upsilon(4S)-->BBmacr; decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. We measure the branching fraction B(B--->D(*0)K(*-))=(8.3+/-1.1(stat)+/-1.0(syst)) x 10(-4), and the fraction of longitudinal polarization in this decay to be Gamma(L)/Gamma=0.86+/-0.06(stat)+/-0.03(syst).  相似文献

We have performed a search for the decays B+-->J/psip(-)Lambda; and search for B0-->J/psip(-)p. in a data set of (88.9+/-1.0) x 10(6) Upsilon(4S) decays collected by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II e(+)e(-) storage ring at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. Four charged B candidates have been observed with an expected background of 0.21+/-0.14 events. The corresponding branching fraction is (12(+9)(-6)) x 10(-6), where statistical and systematic uncertainties have been combined. The result can be interpreted as a 90% confidence level (C.L.) upper limit of 26 x 10(-6). We also find one B0 candidate, with an expected background of 0.64+/-0.17 events, implying a 90% C.L. upper limit of 1.9 x 10(-6).  相似文献

We present a measurement of the branching fraction for the rare decays B-->rhoenu and extract a value for the magnitude of V(ub), one of the smallest elements of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa quark-mixing matrix. The results are given for five different calculations of form factors used to para-metrize the hadronic current in semileptonic decays. Using a sample of 55 x 10(6) BB meson pairs recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e(+)e(-) storage ring, we obtain B(B0-->rho(-)e(+)nu)=(3.29+/-0.42+/-0.47+/-0.55) x 10(-4) and |V(ub)|=(3.64+/-0.22+/-0.25(+0.39)(-0.56)) x 10(-3), where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and theoretical, respectively.  相似文献
