Microhardness and fracture toughness of highly transparent Y3Al5O12-and Y3Al5O12: Nd3+-based nanocrystalline ceramics are measured for the first time. For the Y3Al5O12: Nd3+ laser ceramics, the use of a longitudinal scheme with a diode-laser pumping at a wavelength of 1.3186 mm (4 F 3/24 I 13/2 channel) enabled one to attain an output power of continuous-wave lasing of ~3.7 W with 35% efficiency.  相似文献

We have analyzed theoretically the dependence of lasing threshold and efficiency of laser crystals powders on the sample thickness, the volume fraction occupied by the particles and the mean particle size. The optimal range of these parameters that minimize the threshold and maximize the efficiency has been determined.  相似文献

We report for the first time to our knowledge an experimental demonstration of wavelength self-tuning in a K5Nd(MoO4)4 broadband-emitting laser crystal (KNM), as well as a theoretical treatment of the system based on its birefringence properties. The self-frequency-tuning of the laser along the full spectral range of the KNM crystal was obtained by rotating a birefringent gain plate in its own plane. The gain plate was placed inside a resonator at Brewster's angle. The tuning characteristics of the spectral filter were obtained by use of the Jones vector formalism. The calculated wavelength-selective tuning precisely matches the experimental observations.  相似文献

In the present study, the low OH content, thulium doped fluorotellurite glasses are defined as low-quenching materials. Two lines of evidence, lifetime and emission spectra measurements, have shown that the depletion of the 3H4 state by cross relaxation processes was highly efficient. The links in question, together with the linear concentration-quenching dependence of the 3F4 state, indicated the regime of fast diffusion processes. The addition of ZnF2 to a tellurite based host significantly improved self-quenching reduction especially for highly doped samples. The increase of the 3F4 state lifetime value for a different ZnF2/ZnO ratio in the glass samples, fabricated inside a glove box, has been demonstrated and discussed.  相似文献

Anti-Stokes laser cooling in Yb(3+)-doped KPb(2) Cl(5) crystal   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
We report internal laser cooling in Yb(3+) -doped KPb(2)Cl(5) . From the quantum efficiency values measured in the heating and cooling regions by use of the photothermal deflection technique, we have obtained a room-temperature cooling efficiency of 0.2% in a sample doped with ~5x10(19)ions/cm(3) . Excitation spectra obtained under high irradiation fluences show an excess of fluorescence with regard to those obtained at low fluences, which agrees with the prediction of a model based on photon-ion-phonon interaction.  相似文献

The Mn(2)(HPO(3))F(2) phase has been synthesized as single crystals by using mild hydrothermal conditions. The compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group, with unit cell parameters of a = 7.5607(8), b = 10.2342(7), and c = 5.5156(4) ?, with Z = 4. The crystal structure consists of a three-dimensional framework formed by alternating (010) layers of [MnO(3)F(3)] octahedra linked up by three connected [HPO(3)] tetrahedra. Luminescence measurements were performed at different temperatures between 10 and 150 K. The 10 K emission spectrum of the octahedrally coordinated Mn(II) cation exhibits a broad band centered at around 615 nm corresponding to the (4)T(1) → (6)A(1) transition. In order to explore the effect of the Mn(II) concentration and the possibility of enhancing the luminescence properties of the Mn(II) cation in Mn(2)(HPO(3))F(2), different intermediate composition members of the finite solid solution with the general formula (Mn(x)Zn(1-x))(2)(HPO(3))F(2) were prepared and their luminescent properties studied. The magnetic and specific heat behavior of M(2)(HPO(3))F(2) (M = Mn, Fe) have also been investigated. The compounds exhibit a global antiferromagnetic ordering with a spin canting phenomenon detected at approximately 30 K. The specific heat measurements show sharp λ-type peaks at 29.7 and 33.5 K for manganese and iron compounds, respectively. The total magnetic entropy is consistent with spin S = 5/2 and S = 2 of Mn(II) and Fe(II) cations.  相似文献

The understanding of energy transfer processes in biological systems occurring among optical centres which exhibit inhomogeneously broadened spectral bands is of paramount importance to determine time constants and spatial distribution of energy flow. A new time resolved‐spectroscopy based on the random laser generation of the optical probes is reported. As an example, the excited state relaxation of Rhodamine B molecules in an organic‐inorganic hybrid material is investigated. This kind of spectroscopy may resolve not only the spectral features of the system but also provide a high speed picture of the energy transfer and excited state relaxation of the involved optical probes. The results could be applied to other kind of efficient interacting chromophore pairs embedded in inhomogeneous scattering structures such as biological tissues.  相似文献
