The gas- and aqueous-phase acidities of a series of oxicams have been computed by combining M05-2X/6-311+G(3df,2p) gas-phase free energies with solvation free energies from the CPCM-UAKS, COSMO-RS, and SMD solvent models. To facilitate accurate gas-phase calculations, a benchmarking study was further carried out to assess the performance of various density functional theory methods against the high-level composite method G3MP2(+). Oxicams are typically diprotic acids, and several tautomers are possible in each protonation state. The direct thermodynamic cycle and the proton exchange scheme have been employed to compute the microscopic pK(a)s on both solution- and gas-phase equilibrium conformers, and these were combined to yield the macroscopic pK(a) values. Using the direct cycle of pK(a) calculation, the CPCM-UAKS model delivered reasonably accurate results with MAD ~ 1, whereas the SMD and COSMO-RS models' performance was less satisfactory with MAD ~ 3. Comparison with experiment also indicates that direct cycle calculations based on solution conformers generally deliver better accuracy. The proton exchange cycle affords further improvement for all solvent models through systematic error cancellation and therefore provides better reliability for the pK(a) prediction of compounds of these types. The latter approach has been applied to predict the pK(a)s of several recently synthesized oxicam derivatives.  相似文献

Polyethylene glycols can be immobilized in glass capillary columns by a new procedure involving covering the glass walls with a layer of graphitized carbon black and by flowing a mixture of the stationary phase and dicumyl peroxide. After curing and conditioning the column is ready for use. Excellent performance is reported for Carbowax 20 M and high molecular weight glycols. For other glycols the immobilized layer is less stable and can be washed out.  相似文献

The chemical and enzymatic deposition of polyaniline (PANI) films by in situ polymerization was studied and the resulting films were characterized. The film formation and polymerization processes were simultaneously monitored by the evolution of the open circuit potential and quartz-crystal microbalance measurements. Different substrates, such as Indium-Tin oxide electrodes and gold-coated quartz-crystal electrodes were used as substrates for PANI deposition. Electroactive PANI films were successfully deposited by in situ enzymatic polymerization at low oxidation potential. The electrogravimetric response of the enzymatically deposited PANI film was studied by cyclic voltammetry in monomer-free acidic medium. The morphology of the films was observed by scanning electron microscopy, revealing a granular structure in enzymatically deposited PANI. The PANI films were also characterized by thermogravimetric analysis, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron and Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy. The simultaneous use of quartz crystal microbalance and open circuit potential is presented as a very useful technique to monitor enzymatic reactions involving oxidoreductases.  相似文献

Formation of self-assembled chains of tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) on the Cu(100) surface has been investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy and density functional theory calculations that include semiempirical van der Waals (vdW) interaction corrections. The calculations show that the chain structures observed in the experiments can only be explained by including the vdW interactions. The molecules are tilted along the chain in order to achieve maximal intermolecular interaction. The chains are metastable on the surface, which is consistent with the experimental observation that they disappear after annealing. The fact that all TTF chains observed in the experiment are short might be possibly explained by the interplay between the stabilizing vdW molecule-molecule interaction and the destabilizing rearrangement of surface atoms due to the strong molecule-substrate interaction.  相似文献

The possible isomers of [Mg(NH3)n = 1 − 10]+ clusters have been investigated using both M06-2X/6-31++G(d,p) and MP2/6-31++G(d,p) levels of theory. The isomeric distribution for each n size has been studied as a function of temperatures ranging from 25 to 400 K. To the best of our knowledge, for clusters size n > 6, this is the first theoretical study available in the literature. From the calculated values in the considered clusters and using a fitting procedure, we have evaluated the binding energies (−14.0 kcal/mol), clustering energies (−10.1 kcal/mol), clustering free energies (−2.8 kcal/mol), and clustering enthalpies (−10.3 kcal/mol). On the basis of our structural and infrared (IR) spectroscopy outcomes, we find that the first solvation shell can hold up to six ammonia molecules. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

We report the structural properties of ultra-small ThO2 and UO2 nanoparticles (NPs), which were synthesized without strong binding surface ligands by employing a covalent organic framework (COF-5) as an inert template. The resultant NPs were used to observe how structural properties are affected by decreasing grain size within bulk actinide oxides, which has implications for understanding the behavior of nuclear fuel materials. Through a comprehensive characterization strategy, we gain insight regarding how structure at the NP surface differs from the interior. Characterization using electron microscopy and small-angle X-ray scattering indicates that growth of the ThO2 and UO2 NPs was confined by the pores of the COF template, resulting in sub-3 nm particles. X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy results indicate that the NPs are best described as ThO2 and UO2 materials with unpassivated surfaces. The surface layers of these particles compensate for high surface energy by exhibiting a broader distribution of Th–O and U–O bond distances despite retaining average bond lengths that are characteristic of bulk ThO2 and UO2. The combined synthesis and physical characterization efforts provide a detailed picture of actinide oxide structure at the nanoscale, which remains highly underexplored compared to transition metal counterparts.

Computational chemistry simulations were performed to determine the effect that the addition of a single formic acid molecule has on the structure and stability of protonated water clusters. Previous experimental studies showed that addition of formic acid to protonated pure water results in higher intensities of large-sized clusters when compared to pure water and methanol-water mixed clusters. For larger, protonated clusters, molecular dynamics simulations were performed on H(+)(H(2)O)(n), H(+)(H(2)O)(n)CH(3)OH, and H(+)(H(2)O)(n)CHOOH clusters, 19-28 molecules in size, using a reactive force field (ReaxFF). Based on these computations, formic acid-water clusters were found to have significantly higher binding energies per molecule. Addition of formic acid to a water cluster was found to alter the structure of the hydrogen-bonding network, creating selective sites within the cluster, enabling the formation of new hydrogen bonds, and increasing both the stability of the cluster and its rate of growth.  相似文献

One of the milestone structures in the development of transition-metal complexes with metal-metal bonds of multiple bond order was the lithium methylchromate dimer Me(8)Cr(2)[Li(donor)](4) (donor = THF or Et(2)O). Using a simple salt metathesis reaction mixing this compound with sodium tert-butoxide, the sodium congener Me(8)Cr(2)[Na(OEt(2))](4) has been synthesized as a green crystalline compound and isolated in 51% yield. Its solid-state structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Exhibiting exact crystallographic C(4h) symmetry, this heavier alkali-metal chromate structure is also dimeric, formally comprising a (Me(8)Cr(4))(4-) tetranionic core with four peripheral Na(+) cations carrying supporting ether ligands. Its salient feature is the long Cr···Cr distance of 3.263(2) ?, which is remarkably elongated compared to that in the lithium THF-solvated congener [1.968(2) ?]. With respect to the methyl C atoms, the Cr coordination is distorted-square-planar. Each Na(+) interacts with four methyl C atoms, and there are also some short Na···H(C) contacts. Unlike for lithium chromate, no NMR spectroscopic data could be obtained for sodium chromate. The paramagnetic character of sodium chromate was confirmed by variable-temperature magnetization measurements, which indicated antiferromagnetic behavior.  相似文献

The catalytic activity of a series of [Rh L-L chel]X complexes, in which we have varied the unsaturated ligand [L-L = cis, cis-cycloocta 1,5-diene(cod) or 2,5-norbornadiene(nbd) the nitrogen chelating ligand [chel = 2,2′-bipyridine(bipy), 2,2′-dipyridylamine(dipyam), 2,2′-bipyrazine (bipz), 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine (4,4′-Me2bipy)] and the counter ion [X = PF6, ClO4, BPh4], has been examined in reactions with phyenylacetylene (PA). The catalytic behaviour of the [Rh(cod)Cl2],tmeda (tmeda = N,N,N′,N′tetramethylethylendiamine), [Rh(cod)Cl2],teda] (teda = triethylendiamine), of the dimer [Rh(cod)Cl]2, and the use of NaOH as cocatalyst in different reaction conditions was also examined. The influence of the ligands on the catalytic activity of these RhI complexes is discussed. 1H and 13C NMR spectra have shown that highly stereoregular polyphenylacetilene can be obtained. Conditions for homogeneous doping of PPA, to obtain materials whose conductivity varies over 10–11 magnitude orders, are proposed. The stability of the doped polymers is also discussed.  相似文献
