Particle samples were collected in August 2004 both inside and outside Emperor Qin's Terra-Cotta Museum in Xi'an, China. Mass and chemical composition of total suspended particles (JSP, particles with aerodynamic diameter less than-30μm), PM2.5(particles with aerodynamic diameter <2.5μm) were determined. The average levels of indoor PM2.5 and TSP were 108.4 and 172.4 μg·m-3, respectively, with PM2.5 constituting 62.9% of the TSP mass. Sulfate ((32.4±6.2)%), organics ((27.7±8.0)%), and geological material ((12.5±3.4)%) dominated indoor PM2.5, followed by ammonium ((8.9±2.8)%), nitrate ((7.0±2.9)%), and elemental carbon (EC, (3.9±1.5)%). Particle size distribution varied with the number of tourists in the museum. The size of sulfate, organics, EC, nitrate, and ammonium was found to vary in the range of 0.43 to 3.3 μm in fraction. Ion balance indicated that the aerosol was acidic, with insufficient ammonium ions to neutralize the sulfuric and nitric acids. High concentrations of acidic aerosols will erode the Terra-cotta warriors and horses especially in the summer season with high temperature (30℃) and relative humidity (70%) and undesirable solar radiation inside the museum. More attention should be paid to protecting these precious antiques made 2000 years ago.  相似文献

In this paper, the fabrication and characterization of multi‐drug‐loaded microparticles are demonstrated for topical glaucoma therapy. Specifically, latanoprost (“LAT”) and dexamethasone (“DEX”) are loaded in monodisperse microparticles (diameter ≈150 μm) of a biodegradable polymer–poly (lactic‐co‐glycolic) acid (PLGA)—using capillary microfluidics coupled with solvent evaporation. Both individual (LAT in PLGA and DEX in PLGA) and combined (LAT and DEX in PLGA) microparticle formulations are demonstrated. The morphology, size distribution and in vitro release kinetics are studied, and in vitro mucoadhesion of the formulated microparticles is also assessed. In addition, discussion is placed in how precise knowledge of the particle composition enabled by the microfluidic fabrication method and in vitro release rate measurements allow for facile topical formulation design and dose optimization. Such precision‐fabricated, multi‐drug loaded, sustained‐release microparticles are envisioned to serve as a promising platform for topical administration of ocular drugs. This could potentially reduce the frequency of eyedrop‐based drug administration from several times a day to merely once a day (or less), thus greatly facilitating patient compliance and adherence to a strict therapeutic drug regimen.  相似文献

A next-to-leading-order (NLO) calculation of neutrino cross sections, including power-suppressed mass terms, is used to evaluate the Paschos-Wolfenstein ratio, in order to better assess the validity and significance of the NuTeV anomaly. We study the shift of sin2thetaW obtained in calculations with parton distribution function sets that allow s(x) not = s(x), enabled by recent neutrino dimuon data from CCFR and NuTeV. The extracted value of sin2thetaW is closely correlated with the strangeness asymmetry. Taken together with recent developments of possible isospin violation and electroweak effects, our results suggest that the new dimuon data, the Weinberg angle measurement, and other data sets used in global QCD parton structure analysis can all be consistent within the standard model. A full NLO analysis of the actual experimental measurement will help to clarify this issue further.  相似文献

Experimental and theoretical evidence is presented for new low-magnetic-field (B<5 kG) 1/B oscillations in the thermoelectric power of a high-mobility GaAs/AlGaAs two-dimensional (2D) electron gas. The oscillations result from inter-Landau-level resonances of acoustic phonons carrying a momentum equal to twice the Fermi wave number at B=0. Numerical calculations show that both 3D and 2D phonons can contribute to this effect.  相似文献

By carefully analyzing the low temperature density dependence of 2D conductivity in undoped high-mobility n-GaAs heterostructures, we conclude that the 2D metal-insulator transition in this 2D electron system is a density inhomogeneity driven percolation transition due to the breakdown of screening in the random charged impurity disorder background. In particular, our measured conductivity exponent of approximately 1.4 approaches the 2D percolation exponent value of 4/3 at low temperatures and our experimental data are inconsistent with there being a zero-temperature quantum critical point in our system.  相似文献

Magnetotransport in a laterally confined two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) can exhibit modified scattering channels owing to a tilted Hall potential. Transitions of electrons between Landau levels with shifted guiding centers can be accomplished through a Zener tunneling mechanism, and make a significant contribution to the magnetoresistance. A remarkable oscillation effect in weak field magnetoresistance has been observed in high-mobility 2DEGs in GaAs -Al Ga 0.3As (0.7) heterostructures, and can be well explained by the Zener mechanism.  相似文献

We report resistivity measurements from 0.03 to 10 K in a dilute high mobility 2D electron system. Using an undoped GaAs/AlGaAs heterojunction in a gated field-effect transistor geometry, a wide range of densities, 0.16 x 10(10) to 7.5 x 10(10) cm(-2), are explored. For high densities, the results are quantitatively shown to be due to scattering by acoustic phonons and impurities. In an intermediate range of densities, a peak in the resistivity is observed for temperatures below 1 K. This nonmonotonic resistivity can be understood by considering the known scattering mechanisms of phonons, bulk, and interface ionized impurities. Still lower densities appear insulating to the lowest temperature measured.  相似文献
