For the first time, bamboo-shaped multiwalled carbon nanotubes, having diameter of the order of 50 nm, have been grown on carbon black in a fluidized bed in bulk amount. The activation energy for the synthesis of the product was found out to be around 33 kJ/mol in the temperature range of 700−900 °C. The carbon nanotubes were separated from the carbon black by preferential oxidation of the later, the temperature of which was determined by thermogravimetry. The transmission electron microscopy revealed different features of the nanotubes such as “Y” junction, bend, and catalyst filling inside the nanotubes. Small angle neutron scattering was performed on the nanotubes synthesized at different temperatures. The data were fitted into a suitable model in order to find out the average diameter, which decreases with increase in synthesis temperature. The Monte Carlo simulation predicts the same behavior. Based on the above observations, a possible growth mechanism has been predicted. The oscillation in carbon saturation value inside the catalyst in the fluidized bed has been indicated as the responsible factor for the bamboo-shaped structure. 相似文献

The benefits of gallium (Ga) grading on Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) solar cell performance are demonstrated by comparing with ungraded CIGS cells. Using drive‐level capacitance profiling (DLCP) and admittance spectroscopy (AS) analyses, we show the influence of Ga grading on the spatial variation of deep defects, free‐carrier densities in the CIGS absorber, and their impact on the cell's open‐circuit voltage Voc. The parameter most constraining the cell's Voc is found to be the deep‐defect density close to the space charge region (SCR). In ungraded devices, high deep‐defect concentrations (4.2 × 1016cm–3) were observed near the SCR, offering a source for Shockley–Read–Hall recombination, reducing the cell's Voc. In graded devices, the deep‐defect densities near the SCR decreased by one order of magnitude (2.5 × 1015 cm–3) for back surface graded devices, and almost two orders of magnitude (8.6 × 1014 cm–3) for double surface graded devices, enhancing the cell's Voc. In compositionally graded devices, the free‐carrier density in the absorber's bulk decreased in tandem with the ratio of gallium to gallium plus indium ratio GGI = Ga/(Ga + In), increasing the activation energy, hindering the ionization of the defect states at room temperature and enhancing their role as recombination centers within the energy band. We calculate the leading and next-to-leading logarithmic resummed distribution for the jet broadening in deep inelastic scattering,
as well as the power correction for both the distribution and mean value. A truncation of the answer at NLL accuracy, as is
standard, leads to unphysical divergences. We discuss their origin and show how the problem can be resolved. We then examine
DIS specific procedures for matching to fixed order calculations and compare our results to the data. One of the tools developed
for the comparison is an NLO parton distribution evolution code. When compared to PDF sets from MRST and CTEQ it reveals limited
discrepancies in both.

The protein, hen egg white lysozyme, on photoexcitation undergoes electron transfer with menadione (2-methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone), a widely known anticancer drug. With the addition of menadione the fluorescence of lysozyme is quenched with the simultaneous formation of an excited state charge-transfer complex in the longer wavelength and a ground state complex. The former is further evident from laser flash photolysis studies, which indicate a tryptophan to menadione electron transfer. From fluorescence quenching studies the binding constant is found to be ∼1.7×104 M−1 with the corresponding changes in enthalpy (ΔH°) and entropy (ΔS°) as 12.24 kJ mol−1 and 124.12 J mol−1 K−1, respectively, indicative of an entropy-driven process. The circular dichroism studies also show some structural changes with increase in α-helical content in the protein on interaction with menadione. Finally, docking studies give some insight into the role of Trp 108 of lysozyme in the interaction. 相似文献

The paper deals with the comparative study of nanocrystalline Lanthanum hexaboride (LaB6) thin films grown on various substrates by Pulsed laser deposition and Arc plasma method. Field emission studies were carried
out on LaB6 films deposited on various substrates show metallic behavior of the emitters. The high value of field enhancement factors,
indicating that the electron emission from LaB6 nanoscale protrusions deposited on emitter surface. The post field emission surface morphology of the emitters showed no
significant erosion of the films during continuous operation. The observed behavior indicates that it is linked with the growth
of LaB6 films on substrate crystal structure. The LaB6 nanocrystallites/nanowires films were synthesized using arc plasma method shows good emission current stability. The LaB6 micro/nanocrystallites were also obtained by picosecond laser irradiation which gives high enhancement β factor, and good emission current stability along with high current density. The results reveal that nanocrystalline LaB6 films, exhibit high resistance to ion bombardment and excellent structural stability and are more promising emitters for

Complete and incomplete fusion cross sections for the 9Be + 144Sm reaction have been measured at near-barrier energies, using the delayed X-ray detection technique. At above-barrier energies these show a suppression of complete fusion for this weakly bound projectile on an intermediate mass target. The suppression factor, attributed to 9Be break-up, was deduced from a comparison of complete fusion yields with coupled-channels calculations, and appears consistent with measured incomplete fusion product yields. At ∼10%, it is considerably smaller than the value of ∼30% previously found for a 208Pb target. Simultaneous measurements of elastic and inelastic scattering permit a clearer picture of the reaction mechanisms. 相似文献

The availability of precisely measured fusion excitation functions have allowed the determination of experimental fusion barrier
distributions. This concept is utilised in 9Be+208Pb reaction, to reliably predict the expected complete fusion cross-sections. However, the measured cross-sections are found
to be only 68% of those predicted. The large cross-sections observed for incomplete fusion products support the interpretation

We demonstrate that a spherical accretion onto astrophysical black holes, under the influence of Newtonian or various post-Newtonian
pseudo-Schwarzschild gravitational potentials, may constitute a concrete example of classical analogue gravity naturally found
in the Universe. We analytically calculate the corresponding analogue Hawking temperature as a function of the minimum number
of physical parameters governing the accretion flow. We study both the polytropic and the isothermal accretion. We show that
unlike in a general relativistic spherical accretion, analogue white hole solutions can never be obtained in such post-Newtonian
systems. We also show that an isothermal spherical accretion is a remarkably simple example in which the only one information–the
temperature of the fluid, is sufficient to completely describe an analogue gravity system. For both types of accretion, the
analogue Hawking temperature may become higher than the usual Hawking temperature. However, the analogue Hawking temperature
for accreting astrophysical black holes is considerably lower compared with the temperature of the accreting fluid. 相似文献
