The use and usefulness of the weak beam technique in studies of defect structures at grain boundaries is discussed. The localization of strain contrast, in this imaging mode, at dislocations makes their detection easier than in conventional imaging modes. Also, the reduction in extinction distance can lead to a fine graticule of extinction contours on which topographical discontinuities may be “mapped”. 相似文献

Spectral characteristics of two different types of electron donor–acceptor (EDA) complexes with charged components (arene–carbenium and anion–π acceptor) are presented. The UV–Vis absorption maxima of the charge‐transfer (CT) band (νmax,CT) of the EDA complexes were measured in various solvents and after adsorption on silica. Tropylium, triarylmethylium and diarylmethylium ions in combination with aromatic π donors, e.g. pyrene, acenaphthene and methoxy‐substituted benzene derivatives and also the tetraethylammonium iodide–1,3,5‐trinitrobenzene complex have been investigated by means of a special UV–Vis technique in transparent slurries of silica nanoparticles in 1,2‐dichloroethane. Multiple linear regression analyses of the νmax,CT values of the EDA complexes in various solvents and on silica with the Kamlet–Taft solvent parameters and structure–reactivity terms of the complex components, e.g. the oxidation potential of the arene component or the Hammett substituent constant, σp+, of the arylmethyl component, show their related properties to the solution complexes. The influence of the electron‐pair donating capacity of a solvent on νmax,CT of carbenium/arene complexes was compared with the property of the silica surface in order to link EDA complexes. An increasing number of newly developed pharmaceutical substances are poorly soluble in both aqueous and organic media. Thus, the application of oral or injectable drugs is often limited by its low bioavailability. An alternative and promising method to improve the bioavailability of pharmaceutical agents is the production of nanoscale particles by the rapid expansion of supercritical solutions (RESS). Our research is aimed towards an improved understanding of the underlying physical phenomena of the relationship between the process conditions and the particle characteristics. Therefore, experimental investigations and numerical simulations were performed. RESS experiments with the pharmaceutical substances β‐sitosterol, griseofulvin, and ibuprofen led to particle sizes in the range of 240±80 nm. In addition, as one step towards intravenous application of poorly soluble drugs, β‐sitosterol was used to produce aqueous suspensions of a water‐insoluble drug with a particle size smaller than or equal to those produced by RESS into air. RESS modeling is focused on the flow through the nozzle, the supersonic free jet, the mach shock, and particle growth in the expansion unit. The comparison with experimental results shows a good agreement in the general trends but does not match exactly the measured mean particle sizes. 相似文献

Sawdust of Scots Pine sapwood was chemically modified with various alkyl- and phenylchlorophosphorus compounds. The formation of covalent bonds was confirmed with solid state CP-MAS 13C NMR.According to thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), all phosphorus compounds decreased the temperature for the maximum rate of pyrolysis (from 350 °C to max. 240 °C) and increased the char formation (from 25% to max. 54%). Variation of the alkyl groups (C2-C8) had no significant effect. Phenylphosphates decrease the temperature of pyrolysis more efficiently than the alkyl analogues, due to higher thermal stability. The order in which the phenylphosphorus compounds affect the pyrolysis of the modified sawdust is consistent with their acidity order: organophosphate > organophosphonate ? organophosphinate.All phosphorus compounds used in this study reduce the equilibrium moisture content (EMC). Whereas the results obtained with the dialkyl phosphates are relatively poor, significant reductions in EMC can be achieved with the phenylphosphorus compounds. 相似文献

Shearography is a full field non-contact optical technique usually used to measure the gradient of the displacement of a surface subjected to thermal or mechanical loading. This paper describes the use of shearography for surface slope and shape measurement. Interferometric speckle patterns obtained before and after displacement of the optical source are correlated to yield correlation fringes which are, in general, a mixture of slope fringes and carrier fringes. This paper contains a full treatment of the sensitivity of slope fringes to the parameters; the illumination and the imaging geometry and the magnitude and the direction of the source displacement. The slope fringes are corrected for distortion, which is due to the necessary off-axis illumination, and are scaled using parameters calculated using a mathematical model. Experimentally generated phase-stepped slope fringes are unwrapped and integrated to recover the object shape. 相似文献
