The structural modifications and the Bronsted acid sites generated during the acid treatment of montmorillonite clay with varied concentration of sulphuric acid was determined using FT-IR spectroscopy. Octahedral sheet is affected at low acid concentration resulting into the dissolution of cations; among them Mg2+ cations are prone to dissolve than Fe2+/3+ and Al3+. Tetrahedral sheet is affected at higher acid concentration. The partial substitution of octahedral Al3+ by Mg2+ or Fe2+/3+ cations and the presence of other non-smectite minerals such as kaolinites was also been clearly identified, thus making FT-IR spectroscopy as a rapid technique for monitoring the structural features of montmorillonite clay.  相似文献

Chiral BINOL was covalently anchored on two different pore sized mesoporous silica (SBA-15 (7.5 nm) and MCF (14 nm)). These heterogenized ligands were used in Ti-catalyzed asymmetric addition of diethylzinc to aldehydes. High catalytic activity with excellent enantioselectivity (up to 94% ee) for secondary alcohols was achieved using MCF supported chiral BINOL under heterogeneous reaction conditions. Good to excellent enantioselectivity (ee, 68–91%) was also achieved with various small to bulkier aldehydes. The MCF supported catalyst was reused in multiple catalytic runs without loss of enantioselectivity.  相似文献

Nano-crystalline sulfated-zirconia solid acid catalyst has been studied for microwave-assisted solvent free synthesis of hydroxy derivatives of 4-methyl coumarin by Pechmann reaction. The catalyst showed good activity for activated m-hydroxy phenol substrates, viz., phloroglucinol and pyrrogallol with ethyl acetoacetate for the synthesis of 5,7-dihydroxy 4-methyl coumarin and 7,8-dihydroxy 4-methyl coumarin, respectively, showing significant yields ranging from 78 to 85% within 5–20 min at 130 °C. However, the less activated phenol and m-methyl phenol was observed to be inactive for the synthesis of 4-methyl coumarin and 4,7-dimethyl coumarin, respectively, under the studied experimental conditions.  相似文献

The catalytic activity of hydrotalcite ([M(II)1−xM(III)x(OH2)]x+(CO32−)x/n·mH2O; where M(II) = Mg, Ni, Zn and M(III) = Al) was evaluated for the synthesis of jasminaldehyde by solvent free condensation of 1-heptanal with benzaldehyde. The effect of activation of as-synthesized Mg-Al hydrotalcite samples of varied Mg/Al molar ratio on its catalytic activity was studied and correlated with their basicity as determined from the model test reaction. The effect of reaction parameters such as, amount of catalyst, benzaldehyde to 1-heptanal molar ratio and reaction temperature on conversion of 1-heptanal and selectivity of jasminaldehyde was studied in detail. Maximum selectivity of jasminaldehyde (86%) with 98% conversion of 1-heptanal was observed using as-synthesized Mg-Al hydrotalcite of Mg/Al molar ratio of 3.5 as a catalyst. The kinetics of the reaction was measured and reaction rate and order of reaction were determined under optimum reaction conditions. The catalyst was re-used upto three cycles without significant loss in its activity. The base catalyzed reaction mechanism for condensation of 1-heptanal with benzaldehyde is proposed.  相似文献

A series of novel 3(5)-aryl/ferrocenyl-5(3)-phenothiazinylpyrazoles and pyrazolines were obtained by substituent-dependent regioselective condensation of the corresponding (E)-3-(2-alkyl-10H-phenothiazin-3-yl)-1-aryl/ferrocenylprop-2-en-1-one with hydrazine or methylhydrazine in acetic acid. The different propensity of the primary formed beta-hydrazino adducts to undergo competitive retro-Mannich reaction was interpreted in terms of tautomerisation equilibrium constants calculated by DFT using a solvent model. The regioselectivity of the cyclisation reactions with methylhydrazine and the substituent-dependent redox properties of pyrazolines were also rationalized by comparative DFT calculations performed for simplified model molecules. On the effect of ultrasound-promoted oxidation with copper(II)nitrate phenothiazine-containing pyrazolines, enones and oxo-compounds were selectively transformed into sulfoxides. Only one sulfoxide enone was partially converted into an oxirane derivative. The structure of the novel products was determined by IR and NMR spectroscopy including COSY, HSQC, HMBC and DNOE measurements.  相似文献

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) may become ideal reinforcing materials for high-performance nano-composites due their exceptional properties. Still, much work is needed to be done before the potentials of CNT based composites can be fully realized. The evaluation of effective material properties of nano-composites is one of many difficult tasks. Simulations using continuum mechanics approach can play a significant role in the analysis of these composites. In the present work, nonlinear heat conduction analysis of CNT based composites has been carried out using continuum mechanics approach. Element free Galerkin method has been applied as a numerical tool. Thermal conductivities of nanotube and polymer matrix are assumed to vary quadratically with temperature. Picard and quasi-linearization schemes have been utilized to obtain the solution of a system of nonlinear equations. Cylindrical representative volume element has been used to evaluate the thermal properties of nano-composites. Present simulations show that the temperature dependent matrix thermal conductivity has a significant effect on the equivalent thermal conductivity of the composite, whereas temperature dependent nanotube thermal conductivity has a small effect on the equivalent thermal conductivity of the composite. The results obtained by Picard method have been found almost similar with those obtained by quasi-linearization approach.  相似文献

We show that the eigenvectors are delocalized and the transfer matrix evolution has a scaling limit given by a stochastic differential equation. In both cases, eigenvalues near a fixed bulk energy E have a point process limit. We give bounds on the eigenvalue repulsion, large gap probability, identify the limiting intensity and provide a central limit theorem.In the second model, the limiting processes are the same as the point processes obtained as the bulk scaling limits of the β-ensembles of random matrix theory. In the first model, the eigenvalue repulsion is much stronger.  相似文献

Information theory is used, under conditions of incomplete data, to provide a maximally conservative prior expectation of a population distribution. This is done by systematically refining the estimates of the full distribution via the incorporation of fragmentary data in the form of conditional probabilities. The net effect is to reduce the available phase space volume of the distribution as more data are incorporated. The above refinements are then applied to calculate estimates of branching ratios for chemical reactions with more than one possible product. Two new branching ratio expressions are derived: one for the case where each product's internal state distribution is known for reactions originating from various specific reactant state?, and when the joint state-to-state reactive probability is known.  相似文献

Summary Trace quantities of naphthoquinones and Methylene Blue are titrated with titanium (III) electrogenerated at a platinum cathode from an electrolyte of 0.4M titanium tetrachloride and 8M sulphuric acid, with potentiometric detection of the end-point. For naphthoquinones, 15–50% of methanol is added to prevent adsorption of the naphthohydroquinone product onto the generating electrode. For Methylene Blue, 2×10–6 M selenium(IV) is added as a catalyst and the titration is performed at 70° C to speed up the titration reaction.
Zusammenfassung Spurenmengen von Naphthochinonen und von Methylenblau lassen sich mit Titan(III) titrieren. Dieses wird auf elektrochemischem Weg an einer Platinkathode aus 0,4-m Titantetrachlorid und 8-m Schwefelsäure gewonnen. Die Endpunktanzeige erfolgt potentiometrisch. Bei der Bestimmung von Naphthochinonen setzt man 15–50% Methanol zu, um die Adsorption von Naphthohydrochinon an der Generatorelektrode zu vermeiden. Für die Bestimmung von Methylenblau verwendet man 2 · 10–6-m Selen(IV)lösung als Katalysator und titriert bei 70° C, um die Reaktion zu beschleunigen.
