Dihedral angle study in Hesperidin using NMR Spectroscopy

Hesperidin is flavonoid molecule found in citrus fruits (Citrus reticulata), especially difficult to extract, classify and characterize. Present work is to study the unresolved relative configuration of Hesperidin through the dihedral angle, coupling constant and different NMR techniques. The Karplus equation and its modifications have been originated from the valence bond theory and associated with dihedral angle and coupling constant. The result data set of calculated dihedral angle can probe significant method to assign the virtual configuration of natural products and also resolved stereochemistry of Hesperidin at C‐2 position in. Noncovalent Intermolecular Interaction in Cofacially Stacked 24π Antiaromatic Hexaphyrin Dimer

π–π Stacking is omnipresent not only in nature but in a wide variety of practical fields applied to our lives. Because of its importance in a performance of natural and artificial systems, such as light harvesting system and working layer in device, many researchers have put intensive effort into identifying its underlying nature. However, for the case of π–π stacked systems composed of antiaromatic units, the understanding of the fundamental mechanisms is still unclear. Herein, we synthesized a new type of planar β,β’-phenylene-bridged hexaphyrin (1.0.1.0.1.0), referred as naphthorosarin which possesses the 24π-electron conjugated pathway. Especially, the corresponding antiaromatic porphyrinoid shows the unique property to form dimeric species adopting the face-to-face geometry which is unprecedented in cases of known annulated naphthorosarins. In order to elucidate the intriguing properties derived from the stacked dimer, the current study focuses on the experimental support to rationalize the observed π–π interactions between the two subunits.     

Direct calculation of time varying Aharonov-Bohm effect

The Aharonov-Bohm effect (ABE) for steady magnetic fields is a well known phenomenon. However, if the current in the infinite solenoid that creates the magnetic field is time-dependent, that is in the presence of both magnetic and electric fields, there is no agreement whether the effect would be present. In this note, we try to investigate time varying ABE by a direct calculation in a set-up with a weak time dependent magnetic field. We find that the electric field arising out of the time-varying magnetic field in the path of the electrons does not enter the action integral but only changes the path of the electron from the source to the slits and then on to the detector. We find a frequency dependent AB phase shift. At low frequencies the result smoothly approaches the one for a constant field as the frequency tends towards zero. On the other hand, for high frequencies such that the AB-phase induced in the path of the wave packet oscillates rapidly, the net effect will be very small which is borne out by our results.     

Estimating Precision in Functional Images

Abstract

Functional imaging of biologic parameters like in vivo tissue metabolism is made possible by Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Many techniques have been suggested for extracting such images from dynamic time-course sequences of reconstructed PET scans. Quantitating the precision of these estimates is important for drawing inferences on the biologic parameters. Analytic variance formulas are not immediate owing to the nonlinear methods used in extraction. The usual resampling approach is infeasible because each image reconstruction in PET is a computationally demanding solution to a high-dimensional linear inverse problem. We suggest an alternative simulation approach that approximates the distribution of reconstructed PET scans and performs a parametric bootstrap in the imaging domain. Results on a simplified model chosen to match the characteristics of PET reconstruction are very encouraging. Mixture analysis is used to estimate functional images; however, the suggested approach is general enough to extend to other techniques or imaging methods.     

Synthesis and in vitro antimicrobial screening of new pyrano[4,3-b]pyrane derivatives of 1H-pyrazole

A new series of pyrano[4,3-b]pyrane 4a-l bearing 1H-pyrazole has been synthesized by one pot base catalyzed cyclocondensation reaction of 1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde la-1,malononitrile 2 and 4-hydroxy-6-methylpyrone 3.All the synthesized compounds were screened against six bacterial pathogens,namely B.subtilis,C.tetani,S.pneumoniae,S.typhi,V.cholerae, E.coli and antifungal activity against,two fungal pathogens,A.fumigatus and C.albicans using broth microdilution MIC method. Some of the compounds are found to be equipotent or more potent than that of commercial drugs,against most of employed strains.     

Fluctuation study of pionisation in ultrarelativistic nucleus-nucleus interaction

The scaled factorial moments and the multifractal moments have been investigated in different??-intervals to study the dynamical fluctuation of pions produced in 200 AGeV³²S-Ag/Br interaction. In order to investigate the detail characteristics of intermittency behaviour, theF-moments are extracted up to the eighth order of moments in differentM-intervals. The analysis indicates a non-thermal phase transition and different regime of particle production during the hadronisation process.
