An in-depth investigation of the dielectric characteristics of annealed phlogopite mica has been conducted in the frequency range 0.1 Hz–10 MHz and over the temperature range 653–873 K through the framework of dielectric permittivity, electric modulus and conductivity formalisms. These formalisms show qualitative similarities in relaxation processes. The frequency dependence of the M″ and dc conductivity is found to obey an Arrhenius law and the activation energy of the phlogopite mica calculated both from dc conductivity and the modulus spectrum is similar, indicating that same type of charge carriers are involved in the relaxation phenomena. The electric modulus and conductivity data have been fitted with the Havriliak–Negami function. Scaling of M′, M″, ac conductivity has also been performed in order to obtain insight into the relaxation mechanisms. The scaling behaviour indicates that the relaxation describes the same mechanism at different temperatures. The relaxation mechanism was also examined using the Cole–Cole approach. The study elaborates that the investigation regarding the temperature and frequency dependence of dielectric relaxation in the phlogopite mica will be helpful for various cutting edge applications of this material in electrical engineering. 相似文献

In this paper, the four wave mixing effect has been compared for different values of ultra low channel spacing and the performance has been evaluated in terms of output spectrums, eye diagrams, BER, eye opening and Q-factor. The simulation results reveal that four wave mixing is minimum at high wavelength spacings. Further, it has been observed that on increasing the spacing between input channels, their interference with each other decreases and thus, the four wave mixing effect also decreases. At ultra low channel spacing of 6.25 GHz, the four wave mixing effects are maximum. 相似文献

Undoped and Erbium (Er) doped zinc oxide (EZO) thin films were deposited on glass substrate by sol–gel method using spin coating technique with different doping concentration. EZO films were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), UV–VIS-NIR transmission and single beam z scan method under illumination of frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser. The deposited films were found to be well crystallized with hexagonal wurtzite structure having a preferential growth orientation along the ZnO (002) plane. A blue-shift was observed in the band gap of EZO films with increasing Er concentration. All the films exhibited a negative value of nonlinear refractive index (n2) at 532 nm which is attributed to the two photon absorption and weak free carrier absorption. Third order nonlinear optical susceptibility, χ(3) values of EZO films were observed in the remarkable range of 10? 6 esu. EZO (0.4 at.%) sample was found to be the best optical limiter with limiting threshold of 1.95 KJ/cm2. 相似文献

The temperature histories are calculated for spherical nano-sized aluminum particles with no protective oxide shell inserted
in air at 300 K. In calculations, initial particle temperatures varied and the minimum initial temperature leading to the
particle ignition was determined. The particle, initially without any oxide coating, was assumed to react adiabatically forming
a monomolecular oxide coverage; the following oxidation was assumed to be governed by the Cabrera–Mott reaction mechanism.

In this paper, all-optical WDM networks based on a slotted multichannel ring topology have been investigated. The nodes are equipped with one fixed-wavelength receiver, wavelength-tunable transmitter and provide packet-mode transport in WDM network. The topology provides one logical channel to be associated with each destination node. Each channel is shared in statistical time division by all nodes transmitting to a given destination. The capacity enhancement has been demonstrated by comparing all optical WDM network by increasing the number of nodes. It is concluded that by increasing the number of nodes in the topology, the token queue length capacity, the token arrival rate are increased and the token arrival period is decreased which results in overall increase in the performance and capacity of the logical WDM network. 相似文献

In this paper, we have analyzed the wavelength conversion for a multihop wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) transport networks to minimize the blocking probability. The analytical model is presented for a static-routing for a multihop paths wavelength conversion. The results have been validated for three cases, without wavelength conversion, with wavelength conversion and limited wavelength conversion. We show that by using wavelength conversion, there is significant improvement in performance of these transport networks. Each of the three cases of wavelength conversion is discussed for different degrees of conversions. It is observed that the higher the degree of conversion is, the lower is the blocking probability. Also as the degree of conversion is increased further, the curve for limited range conversion moves towards the no conversion. 相似文献

The synthesis of the title compounds was accomplished in four steps. The synthetic route involves the preparation of Schiff's base by reacting salicylaldehyde with m‐chloroaniline in EtOH. The Schiff's base was then reduced with NaBH4/MeOH. In the second step, PCl3 was reacted with p‐chlorophenol/p‐bromophenol in THF in the presence of Et3N to obtain P(III) dichloride derivatives. The reduced Schiff's base and dichloride derivatives were reacted in equimolar quantities in the presence of Et3N in THF to get the cyclized product. Alkyl azides were prepared by reacting alkyl bromides with sodium azide, and then alkyl azides were treated with the cyclized product to obtain the title compounds. The structure of these novel compounds was elucidated by elemental analysis, IR, 1H, 13C, 31P NMR, and mass spectroscopy. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The photocatalytic activity of silver deposited Degussa P25 titanium dioxide (Ag-DP25) in the photodegradation of methyl orange (MO) was investigated. The photocatalysts were characterized using PXRD, SEM, EDX, FTIR and UV-vis spectrophotometer. The obtained results show that the silver (Ag0) deposited TiO2 exhibited visible light plasmon absorption band. The degradation experiment reveals that the catalytic property of Ag-DP25 in the degradation of MO is more efficient than that of commercially available Degussa P25 TiO2 (DP25) samples. The improvement of Ag-DP25 catalyst efficiency strongly depends on the content of silver (Ag) deposits. The present study shows that the degradation process is dominated by Ag-TiO2 photocatalytic system, complying with pseudo-first order rate law. The higher rate of photodegradation observed on Ag-DP25 at pH 6.6 can be correlated to the ratios of the concentrations of the ionized to the neutral dye molecules and also to the higher concentration of hydroxylated surface, which are able to effectively scavenge photogenerated valence band holes. Accumulation of the holes in the semiconductor particles increases the probability of formation of excited oxygen atom which is a reactive species readily oxidizing the organic dye molecule. The reduction of pH during the course of the reaction is attributed to the complete mineralization of the dye. 相似文献
