Interaction of phosphate ester dispersants with calcined alumina

The interaction of two commercially available phosphate ester dispersants with calcined alumina has been investigated using the techniques of flow calorimetry and electrophoresis. Flow calorimetric experiments have shown that these dispersants chemically interact with the surface of calcined alumina. The electrical charging of alumina particles in an iso-octane solution containing a phosphate ester indicates that an acid-base interaction mechanism is operative in this system.     

Chemical-electrochemical method for the determination of the positions of coupling in the dimeric one-electron reduction products of ring-substitued 1-alkylpyridinium ions

A previously described procedure for the determination of the positions of coupling in the dimeric one-electron reduction products of 1-alkylpyridinium ions has been extended to the examination of the coupling positions in the dimeric species resulting from one-electron reduction of ring-substituted 1-alkylpyridinium ions.     

A study of np annihilations around 0.65 GeV/c

$\text{n}\text{p}$ annihilations with ? 3 prongs with an incident antineutron momentum between 0.5 and 0.8 GeV/c are analysed. We present the topological branching ratios and cross sections, the resonance production rates and possible ?-ω interference effects.     

Negative muon capture in3He

We compute the partial capture rate of negative muons in³He by following the analysis of Peterson to include the relativistic corrections and the exchange effects, for various values of theg _p /g _A ratio. We also calculate the total capture rate. The ground state of³He is assumed to be spherical. The radial dependence of the ground state wave function is taken to be (a) one parameter Irving function, (b) a modified three-parameter Irving function and (c) a function having ‘soft-core’, whose parameters have been fixed in a variational calculation of the binding energy of the triton using a non-local momentum-dependent potential involvingp ² terms. The calculated values of the capture rates are compared with the experimental data to find a value for theg _p /g _A ratio.     

Critical spin dynamics in the ordered phase of a uniaxial ferromagnet

We report the results of a study of the critical hydrodynamics of an easy axis ferromagnet with weak anisotropic exchange. Self-consistent equations based on the mode coupling hypothesis are solved for the decay rates of the longitudinal and transverse spin fluctuations in the region below the Curie point.
