The application of the G-SERFph pulse sequence is presented on enantiomeric mixtures dissolved in a chiral liquid crystal. It aims at editing, within one single 2D spectrum, every proton coupling which is experienced by a given proton site in the molecule, and leads to real phased T-edited spectroscopy (T=J+2D). This NMR experiment is based on the combination of homonuclear semi-selective refocusing techniques with a spatial frequency encoding of the sample. This approach, which consists in handling selectively each coupling in separate cross sections of the sample, is applied to the visualization of enantiomers dissolved in a chiral liquid crystalline phase. Advantages and limits of this methodology are widely discussed.  相似文献

Results obtained in an experimental optically pumped cesium beam frequency standard in which a single semiconductor laser is used for the state selection and the atom detection are reported. The separation between the two interaction regions is equal to 21 cm. This gives a 500 Hz linewidth which is observed with a signal to noise ratio equal to 10,000 in a 1 Hz noise bandwidth. A quartz crystal oscillator is frequency controlled by the atomic transition. The measured short term frequency stability is given by y()=2×10–12–1/2 for 1 s<500 s. Prospects for improvement of this frequency stability are discussed.  相似文献

We investigate the behavior of a two-level quantum system in contact with a classical heat bath, e.g., a solute particle with internal degrees of freedom immersed in a solvent of massive particles. Using a combination of analytical and numerical methods, we obtain precise information about localization, time-displaced correlation functions, and the frequency-dependent susceptibility of such solute particles. We find that these quantities can have a strong dependence on the density of the solvent fluid, with the maximum changes from the behavior of the corresponding isolated quantum system occurring in many cases at very low densities. We compare the exact results with those obtained by path integral Monte Carlo. There is good agreement with the imaginary time correlations, but analytic continuation to real time proves elusive: even with the best numerical data on the former, we can only get very gross features of the latter.  相似文献

We analyze the thermodynamics of the Overhauser model and demonstrate rigorously the existence of a phase transition. This is achieved by extending techniques previously developed to treat the BCS model in the quasi-spin formulation. Additionally, we compare the thermodynamics of the quasi-spin and full-trace BCS models. The results are identical up to a temperature rescaling.  相似文献

We report on energetic surface reconstruction phenomena observed on bimetallic nanoparticle systems of AuPd and AuCu, similar to a resolidification effect observed during the cooling process in lead clusters. These binary alloy nanoparticles show the fivefold edges truncated, resulting in [100] facets on decahedral structures, an effect largely envisioned and reported theoretically, with no experimental evidence so far. We demonstrate experimentally as well as by computational simulations that this new eutectic structure is favored in such nanoalloy systems.  相似文献

Weight measurements at the bottom of a quasi-2D vertical sheet of static cohesionless grains are carried out. The grains are held between two coaxial cylinders. This peculiar setup allows us to set either periodic or fixed lateral boundary conditions. Huge relative fluctuations in weight measurements appear in case of fixed lateral walls. This may be related to some indetermination in the mobilization state of friction forces on lateral walls. This argument would hold for any piling, but would lead to huge fluctuations in 2D systems only, because of averaging effects in 3D.  相似文献

In this Letter, we introduce the concept of stabilized vector solitons as nonlinear waves constructed by the addition of mutually incoherent fractions of Townes solitons that are stabilized under the effect of a periodic modulation of the nonlinearity. We analyze the stability of these new kinds of structures and describe their behavior and formation in Manakov-like interactions. Potential applications of our results in Bose-Einstein condensation and nonlinear optics are also discussed.  相似文献

We present an erbium-doped dispersion-compensating fiber made up of two asymmetric concentric cores, inner and outer matched claddings, and erbium located in the central core only. We demonstrate a high negative chromatic dispersion value [-700 ps/(nm km) at 1568 nm], significant modification of the gain spectrum compared with that of a classic erbium-doped fiber amplifier, and 30-dB peak small-signal gain at 1535 and 1553 nm.  相似文献
