The impregnated palladium on magnetite catalyst is a versatile system for different reduction processes using inexpensive polymehtylhydrosiloxane, including multicomponent reductive amination reactions, and aldehyde, imine, sulfinimide and sulfoxide reductions. This catalyst avoids the use of any type of expensive and quite expensive organic ligand, showing excellent yields, under mild reaction conditions. The catalyst is easily removed from the reaction medium, just by using a magnet. The catalytic system is very selective permitting the discrimination between ketones and aldehydes in the reductive amination process. 相似文献

The use of non-invasive methods to detect and enrich circulating tumor cells (CTCs) independent of their genotype is critical for early diagnostic and treatment purposes. The key to using CTCs as predictive clinical biomarkers is their separation and enrichment. This work presents the use of a contactless dielectrophoresis (cDEP) device to investigate the frequency response of cells and calculate their area-specific membrane capacitance. This is the first demonstration of a cDEP device which is capable of operating between 10 and 100 kHz. Positive and negative dielectrophoretic responses were observed in red blood cells, macrophages, breast cancer, and leukemia cells. The area-specific membrane capacitances of MDA-MB231, THP-1 and PC1 cells were determined to be 0.01518 ± 0.0013, 0.01719 ± 0.0020, 0.01275 ± 0.0018 (F/m(2)), respectively. By first establishing the dielectrophoretic responses of cancerous cells within this cDEP device, conditions to detect and enrich tumor cells from mixtures with non-transformed cells can be determined providing further information to develop methods to isolate these rare cells. 相似文献

An analysis of the evaporation process of n-hexadecane in a thermogravimetric apparatus was carried out. n-Hexadecane represents a typical example of a high boiling point compound and its study is interesting for understanding those processes where vaporization takes place in parallel with pyrolysis during thermal treatment. The process has been studied under different operating conditions: nitrogen and air atmospheres, and isothermal and dynamic runs with three different heating rates from 5 K/min to 20 K/min. The experimental data were satisfactorily correlated to a n-order model with zero process order and the same apparent activation energy for all runs, but the exponential factors of the different runs depended on the initial mass and the heating rate. The experimental results were compared with those predicted considering the diffusion process inside the crucible, taking into account the vapor pressure and the diffusion coefficient of n-hexadecane. A parameter, product of these two variables, can be estimated from a single TG run, so the vaporization process in other equipment and/or operating conditions can also be estimated. 相似文献

The first experimental evidence of mixing enhancement in a microfluidic system using contactless dielectrophoresis (cDEP) is presented in this work. Pressure-driven flow of deionized water containing 0.5?μm beads was mixed in various chamber geometries by imposing a dielectrophoresis (DEP) force on the beads. In cDEP the electrodes are not in direct contact with the fluid sample but are instead capacitively coupled to the mixing chamber through thin dielectric barriers, which eliminates many of the problems encountered with standard DEP. Four system designs with rectangular and circular mixing chambers were fabricated in PDMS. Mixing tests were conducted for flow rates from 0.005 to 1?mL/h subject to an alternating current signal range of 0-300?V at 100-600 kHz. When the time scales of the bulk fluid motion and the DEP motion were commensurate, rapid mixing was observed. The rectangular mixing chambers were found to be more efficient than the circular chambers. This approach shows potential for mixing low diffusivity biological samples, which is a very challenging problem in laminar flows at small scales. 相似文献

Ground state absorption, first excited-singlet state, and properties of reactive intermediates of mononitropyrene isomers encountered in the atmospheric aerosol have been studied under different conditions that could mimic the environment. The nitro group can present different orientations relative to the pyrene ring depending on its geometric location and could induce differences in the photochemistry of the isomers. The 2-NO(2)Py isomer has the largest red shift and lowest oscillator strength in the UV-visible band associated with the nitro group. The isomers show very low fluorescence yields (10(-3)-10(-4)). Only 1-NO(2)Py and 4-NO(2)Py have phosphorescence emission (Φ(p) ≈ 10(-4)), indicating that the lowest triplet state decays mainly through effective radiationless channels. Laser photolysis produces a low-lying triplet state (τ(T) = 10(-5)-10(-6) s), a long-lived pyrenoxy radical, and a PyNO(2)H radical in solvents in which the triplet can abstract a hydrogen atom. Similar triplet yields were calculated (0.1-0.6) for the isomers, while significant differences in the relative yield of the long-lived species were determined. Differences in the quenching rate constants of the triplet by water and phenols suggest a strong hydrogen-bond interaction with the nitro group in the C-2 position, which provides for radiationless deactivation routes. 相似文献

An Mg/Al layered double hydroxide (LDH) containing carbonate ion in its interlayer region was examined by medium infrared (MIR) and near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS). The MIR and NIR spectroscopy techniques was also used to study two organo-hybrid LDHs containing interlayer dodecylbenzenesulphonate (DBS) and dodecylsulphate (DS) ions, respectively. The in vitro schistosomicidal effects of the essential oil of Ageratum conyzoides L. (Ac-EO) against adult worms of Schistosoma mansoni is reported in this paper. Concerning this activity, Ac-EO was considered to be active, but less effective than the positive control (praziquantel, PZQ) in terms of separation of coupled pairs, mortality, decrease in motor activity, and tegumental alterations. However, Ac-EO caused an interesting dose-dependent reduction in the number of eggs of S. mansoni. Precocene I (74.30%) and (E)-caryophyllene (14.23%) were identified as the two major constituents of Ac-EO. These compounds were tested individually and were found to be much less effective than Ac-EO and PZQ. A mixture of the two major compounds in a ratio similar to that found in the Ac-EO was also less effective than Ac-EO, thus revealing that there are no synergistic effects between these components. These results suggest that the essential oil of A. conyzoides is very promising for the development of new schistosomicidal agents. 相似文献
