Tadpole‐shaped amphiphilic copolymers prepared via RAFT polymerization and click reaction

The tadpole‐shaped amphiphilic copolymers with cyclic polystyrene as the head and a linear poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) as the tail have been successfully synthesized by combination of reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization and “click” reaction. The synthesis involves two main steps: (1) preparation of a linear acetylene‐terminated PNIPAAM‐b‐PS with a side azido group anchored at the junction between two blocks; (2) intramolecular cyclization reaction to produce the cyclic PS block using “click” chemistry under high dilution. The structures, molecular weights, and molecular weight distributions of the resulted intermediates and the target polymers were characterized by their ¹H NMR, FTIR, and gel permeation chromatography. The difference of surface property between tadpole‐shaped polymer and its linear precursor was observed, and the water contact angles on the former surface are larger than that of the latter surface. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Synthesis and micellization of star‐like hyperbranched polymer with poly(ethylene oxide) and poly(ε‐caprolactone) arms

Novel star‐like hyperbranched polymers with amphiphilic arms were synthesized via three steps. Hyperbranched poly(amido amine)s containing secondary amine and hydroxyl groups were successfully synthesized via Michael addition polymerization of triacrylamide (TT) and 3‐amino‐1,2‐propanediol (APD) with feed molar ratio of 1:2. ¹H, ¹³C, and HSQC NMR techniques were used to clarify polymerization mechanism and the structures of the resultant hyperbranched polymers. Methoxyl poly(ethylene oxide) acrylate (A‐MPEO) and carboxylic acid‐terminated poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL) were sequentially reacted with secondary amine and hydroxyl group, and the core–shell structures with poly(1TT‐2APD) as core and two distinguishing polymer chains, PEO and PCL, as shell were constructed. The star‐like hyperbranched polymers have different sizes in dimethyl sulfonate, chloroform, and deionized water, which were characterized by DLS and ¹H NMR. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. On convergence properties of a least-distance programming procedure for minimization problems under linear constraints

In Ref. 1, Bazaraa and Goode provided an algorithm for solving a nonlinear programming problem with linear constraints. In this paper, we show that this algorithm possesses good convergence properties.This paper was written under the guidance of Associate Professor C. Y. Wang. Stability analysis for neural networks with inverse Lipschitzian neuron activations and impulses

In this paper, a new concept called α-inverse Lipschitz function is introduced. Based on the topological degree theory and Lyapunov functional method, we investigate global convergence for a novel class of neural networks with impulses where the neuron activations belong to the class of α-inverse Lipschitz functions. Some sufficient conditions are derived which ensure the existence, and global exponential stability of the equilibrium point of neural networks. Furthermore, we give two results which are used to check the stability of uncertain neural networks. Finally, two numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of results obtained in this paper.     

Determination of the complete nucleotide sequence of HBV adr NC-1 DNA

On the basis of sequencing the large DNA-fragments which have been inserted into M13mp8, we design a simple strategy to determine the complete nucleotide sequence of HBV adr NC-1 DNA with chain termination method. The whole genome is 3195 nucleotides long. Five reading frames are observed. The gene location and organization are shown.     

GaAs,GaP和GaAsxP1-x合金能带的计算

使用分区变分法计算了GaAs,GaP和GaAs_xP_1-x合金的能带。鉴于原胞内包含不同的原子,依据实际原子的大小,对不同原子球选用了不同的半径。晶体势用相应原子势的迭加势来计算。考虑到组成晶体时原子势场由于电子成键而产生畸变,因而在球外成键区选用了一些调整参数来调整势场,然后再用解析表式来逼近这种调整原子势。适当地选择调整参数使算得的能带同已知的实验值接近。对GaAs和GaP已算得了同实验结果符合的能带结构。使用所得的调整原子势进一步计算了GaAs_xP_1-x合金的能带。 关键词：     

耀州窑青瓷白色中间层和化妆土的微观结构

采用体视显微镜和偏光显微镜,对比观察了耀州窑北宋青瓷白色中间层和唐代、五代青瓷化妆土之间的微观结构.结果显示,在体视显微镜下中间层和化妆土层均为白色薄层,但在偏光显微镜下明显可见化妆土层,未见中间层.并探讨了这些现象与二者的化学组成和形成机理的关系.     

Structure elucidation of three diphenyl ether derivatives from the mangrove endophytic fungus SBE‐14 from the South China Sea

Two new natural products, tenelate A ( 1 ) and B ( 2 ), together with the known compound, tenellic acid C ( 3 ), were isolated from the mangrove endophytic fungus Talaromyces sp. (SBE‐14), from the South China Sea. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, mainly 1D and 2D NMR techniques. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
