Numerical analysis of the rotating viscous flow approaching a solid sphere

A numerical simulation is performed to investigate the flow induced by a sphere moving along the axis of a rotating cylindrical container filled with the viscous fluid. Three‐dimensional incompressible Navier–Stokes equations are solved using a finite element method. The objective of this study is to examine the feature of waves generated by the Coriolis force at moderate Rossby numbers and that to what extent the Taylor–Proudman theorem is valid for the viscous rotating flow at small Rossby number and large Reynolds number. Calculations have been undertaken at the Rossby numbers (R_o) of 1 and 0.02 and the Reynolds numbers (R_e) of 200 and 500. When R_o=O(1), inertia waves are exhibited in the rotating flow past a sphere. The effects of the Reynolds number and the ratio of the radius of the sphere and that of the rotating cylinder on the flow structure are examined. When R_o ? 1, as predicted by the Taylor–Proudman theorem for inviscid flow, the so‐called ‘Taylor column’ is also generated in the viscous fluid flow after an evolutionary course of vortical flow structures. The initial evolution and final formation of the ‘Taylor column’ are exhibited. According to the present calculation, it has been verified that major theoretical statement about the rotating flow of the inviscid fluid may still approximately predict the rotating flow structure of the viscous fluid in a certain regime of the Reynolds number. Crystallographic report: Crystal structure of tetra(4‐methyl‐5‐imidazole‐carboxyaldehyde)zinc(II) diperchlorate

提出了基于Karhunen Lo埁ｖｅ变换的小波谱特征矢量量化三维谱像数据压缩方法耍幔颍瑁酰睿澹?Lo埁ｖｅ变换 /小波变换 /小波谱特征矢量量化方法应用了Karhunen Lo埁ｖｅ变换的消除谱相关性优良性能 ,应用二维小波变换消除空间相关性 ,在小波变换域内应用二维集分割嵌入块编码和一维谱特征矢量量化对三维谱像数据压缩 ,获得较高的压缩性能。实验结果表明 :Karhunen Lo埁ｖｅ变换 /小波变换 /小波谱特征矢量量化编码比Karhunen Lo埁ｖｅ变换 /小波变换 /改进对块零树编码和Karhunen Lo埁ｖｅ变换 /小波变换 /快速矢量量化编码方法在同样压缩比条件下 ,峰值信噪比提高 2dB和 1dB以上 ,而速度提高了 1.5和 8倍 ,整体压缩性能有较大的提高     

开关型霍尔传感器的原理与工程实现

介绍了开关型霍尔传感器的工作原理，设计了适用于工程测量的具体线路，并分析了该线路的特点。     

Synthesis of side‐chain liquid‐crystalline homopolymers and triblock copolymers with p‐methoxyazobenzene moieties and poly(ethylene glycol) as coil segments by atom transfer radical polymerization and their thermotropic phase behavior

A series of side‐chain liquid‐crystalline (LC) homopolymers of poly[6‐(4‐methoxy‐4′‐oxy‐azobenzene) hexyl methacrylate] with different degrees of polymerization were synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), which were prepared with a wide range of number‐average molecular weights from 5.1 × 10³ to 20.6 × 10³ with narrow polydispersities of around 1.17. Thermal investigation showed that the homopolymers exhibit two mesophases, a smectic phase, and a nematic phase, and the phase‐transition temperatures of the homopolymers increase clearly with increasing molecular weights. A series of novel LC coil triblock copolymers with narrow polydispersities was synthesized by ATRP, and their thermotropic phase behavior was investigated with differential scanning calorimetry and polarized optical microscopy. The LC coil triblocks were designed to have an LC conformation of poly[6‐(4‐methoxy‐4′‐oxy‐azobenzene) hexyl methacrylate] with a wide range of molecular weights from 3.5 × 10³ to 1.7 × 10⁴ and the coil conformation of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) (number‐average molecular weight: 6000 or 12,000) segment. Their characterization was investigated with ¹H NMR, Fourier transform infrared spectra, and gel permeation chromatography. Triblock copolymers exhibited a crystalline phase, a smectic phase, and a nematic phase. The phase‐transition temperatures from the smectic to nematic phase and from the nematic to isotropic phase increased, and the crystallization of PEG depressed with increasing molecular weight of the LC block. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Analysis of a Duopoly Supply Chain and its Application in Electricity Spot Markets

This paper studies a supply chain consisting of two suppliers and one retailer in a spot market, where the retailer uses the newsvendor solution as its purchase policy, and suppliers compete for the retailer’s purchase. Since each supplier’s bidding strategy affects the other’s profit, a game theory approach is used to identify optimal bidding strategies. We prove the existence and uniqueness of a Nash solution. It is also shown that the competition between the supplier leads to a lower market clearing price, and as a result, the retailer benefits from it. Finally, we demonstrate the applicability of the obtained results by deriving optimal bidding strategies for power generator plants in the deregulated California energy market. Power scaling of printed-circuit-board preionized TEA CO2 laser up to 3.6 kW

A high average power, high-repetition-rate TEA CO₂ laser employing printed-circuit-board preionizer is described. The power scaling of this preionization configuration has been demonstrated. The average output power reaches 3.6 kW at pulse repetition rate of 180 pps. Furthermore, the scaling-up ability of the rotating spark gap as high-voltage switch for high-average-power gas laser has been validated.     

光纤陀螺信号处理中SLD驱动电路设计

光纤陀螺用光源要求输出功率高、相干性低、稳定性好，超辐射发光二极管（SLD）是能满足这些要求的理想光源，目前国内光纤陀螺用的光源基本上主要选择超辐射发光二极管（SLD），从工程实际应用出发，介绍了超辐射发光二极管（SLD）驱动电路设计，以此来提高光纤陀螺性能。     

瑶药野葛花中6种无机元素的测定

用原子吸收光谱法测定野葛花原生药、野葛花汤剂中的 Ca、Mg、Cu、Zn、Fe、Mn等 6种无机元素含量。结果表明 ,原药和水煎液中 Ca、Mg含量比较丰富 ;各种元素的煎出率存在着较大的差异 ,其中 Cu、Zn、Fe的煎出率较高 ,Zn最高 ,达到了 82 .5 6 % ;Ca最低 ,为 5 .5 8%。并且将其结果与葛根的无机元素做了比较。为探讨无机元素与中药药效之间的关系提供了基础数据。     

淋洗液发生器离子色谱抑制电导法测定甜味剂

采用淋洗液发生器阴离子交换-抑制电导检测法,同时分离和检测阿思巴甜、甜蜜素、安赛蜜和糖精4种常见的甜味剂.由于采用了淋洗液发生器,使背景电导大大降低,可以实现甜味剂的高灵敏度检测和分离.该方法具有良好的重现性、线性关系和较低的检测限.阿思巴甜、甜蜜素、安赛蜜和糖精的检测限分别是:1.27、0.045、0.033、0.063 mg/L;样品测定的回收率分别为99.7%、102.8%、98.6%、103.5%.
