We present the first study of the vector (Wess-Zumino) current in tau(-)-->K-pi-K+nu(tau) decay using data collected with the CLEO III detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring. We determine the quantitative contributions to the decay width from the vector and axial vector currents. Within the framework of a model by Kühn and Mirkes, we identify the quantitative contributions to the total decay rate from the intermediate states omegapi, rho(')pi, and K*K.  相似文献

We have studied the color-suppressed hadronic decays of neutral B mesons into the final states D*0pi(0). Using 9.67 x 10(6) BB pairs collected with the CLEO detector, we observe the decays B( 0) --> D0pi(0) and B( 0) -->D(*0)pi(0) with the branching fractions BB( 0) -->D0pi(0)) = (2.74(+0.36)(-0.32) +/- 0.55)x10(-4) and BB( 0) -->D(*0)pi(0)) = (2.20(+0.59)(-0.52) +/- 0.79)x10(-4). The first error is statistical and the second systematic. The statistical significance of the D0pi(0) signal is 12.1sigma ( 5.9sigma for D(*0)pi(0)). Utilizing the B( 0) -->D*0)pi(0) branching fractions we determine the strong phases delta(I,D(*)) between isospin 1/2 and 3/2 amplitudes in the Dpi and D*pi final states to be cosdelta(I,D) = 0.89 +/-0.08 and cosdelta(I,D*) = 0.89 +/- 0.08, respectively.  相似文献

We analyze the optical spectra of Fairall 9,a luminous Seyfert 1 galaxy.They are obtained from the AGN Watch program that has monitored this object for 9 months.The flux and variation of the optical FeII complex is measured using multi-component profile modeling with FeⅡ templates.A convincing intrinsic Baldwin Effect(BEff) of optical FeⅡ emission blends in Fairall 9 is discovered for the first time.The variation of FeⅡ/Hβ(RFe) in Fairall 9 is obtained.We also detect a marginal anti-correla tion between RFe...  相似文献

Using 586 pb(-1) of e+ e- collision data at E(c.m.) = 4170 MeV, produced at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring collider and collected with the CLEO-c detector, we observe the process e+ e- → π+ π- h(c)(1P). We measure its cross section to be 15.6±2.3±1.9±3.0 pb, where the third error is due to the external uncertainty on the branching fraction of ψ(2S) → π0 h(c)(1P), which we use for normalization. We also find evidence for e+ e- → ηh(c)(1P) at 4170 MeV at the 3σ level and see hints of a rise in the e+ e- → π+ π- h(c)(1P) cross section at 4260 MeV.  相似文献

In vivo measurement of basilar membrane stiffness   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Basilar membrane stiffness measurements were made in the base of the gerbil cochlea. Basilar membrane stiffness was determined by contacting the basilar membrane with a stainless steel needle (tip diameter 25 microns) attached to a force transducer, putting the needle/transducer structure through a low-frequency sinusoidal excursion with amplitude 5 or 25 nm, and measuring the restoring force exerted on the needle by the basilar membrane at the applied frequency. Stiffness was calculated as the amplitude of the restoring force divided by the amplitude of the excursion. Stiffness was measured over a 24-microns range of static displacements of the basilar membrane and is presented as stiffness versus static displacement. In cochleas that were not damaged during surgery the stiffness versus displacement characteristic usually had the following features: (1) an initial stiffness plateau with average stiffness 0.6 N/m; (2) a second plateau or level off with average stiffness 9.1 N/m; and (3) an increase in stiffness beyond the second plateau that was consistent with the theoretical stiffness-vs-displacement function of a beam. We measure the mass of the eta meson using psi(2S) --> etaJ/psi events acquired with the CLEO-c detector operating at the CESR e(+)e(-) collider. Using the four decay modes eta --> gamma gamma, 3pi(0), pi(+)pi(-)pi(0), and pi(+)pi(-)gamma, we find M(eta) = 547.785 +/- 0.017 +/- 0.057 MeV, in which the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. This result has an uncertainty comparable to the two most precise previous measurements and is consistent with that of NA48, but is inconsistent at the level of 6.5 sigma with the much smaller mass obtained by GEM.  相似文献

From Kaula’s Earth gravitational potential written in classical orbital elements, the unified ideal model of mean motion resonance of artificial satellites due to geopotential perturbations is developed in this paper first, through a suitable sequence of canonical transformations constructed by implicit functions. This unified ideal orbital resonance model is valid for all the commensurabilities between the rotational angular velocity of the Earth and the angular velocities of mean orbital motion of artificial satellites with arbitrary inclination and small eccentricity, and can be also transformed into Garfinkel’s general expression of ideal resonance problem. Then 1/1 resonance of the 24-hour satellite with arbitrary inclination and small eccentricity is analyzed under the effect of harmonics of J2 and J 22 of the geopotential, based on the unified ideal model of mean motion resonance. The analytical expressions of the libration period and libration half width of the 1/1 resonance of the 24-hour satellite with arbitrary inclination and small eccentricity are presented.  相似文献

In the present age, the potential threat to space projects coming from some intense meteor storms has been noticed. Especially, the increasing activities of mankind in space for scientific, commercial and military purposes have led to an increase in safety-related problems about the satellites, space stations and astronauts. Several new techniques for observing meteors and meteor showers have been developed. However, how to estimate even predict the effect of an intense meteor shower should be further studied. The initial definition about a meteor storm based on visual observations with a Zenithal Hourly Rate of over one thousand seems insufficient, since it only means a storm or burst of meteors in numbers. In 2006 the author suggested a synthetical index of the potential threats about intense activities of meteors; however, it is too complex to determine several parameters. In this paper, the author suggests a Special True Number Flux Density (STNFD). Set a certain energy-limit, or a certain electric-charge-limit, and then calculate the number flux density. Through the comparison between two of the 10 strong meteor showers in recent years it is found that the important factor affecting the space flight security is not only the number of meteoroids, but also their velocities, their average energy and the population index r. Calculations show that Giacobinids, even June Bootids, should be one of the most hazardous meteor showers.  相似文献
