The principal aspects influencing analytical capillary gas chromatography of fatty acids up to C18 have been evaluated. Selected fundamental problems of interlaboratory exchange of retention data were problems of defined temperature in commercial thermostated air baths, of capillary tubing, and of stationary phases. A modification of commercial thermostats has been proposed in order to secure a defined temperature for glass capillary columns. It has been found that retention data of fatty-acid methyl esters can be measured under standard conditions with the same accuracy as retention data of hydrocarbons on squalane. Metal capillary columns coated with Apiezon L were found to be unsuitable for the analysis of fatty-acid methyl esters when compared with the results of their quantitative analysis in packed Apiezon L and polar capillary columns. Possibilities of a nontraditional statistical evaluation of the results of measurements are suggested. A program in FORTRAN IV language is given for the calculation of Kovats' retention indices for fatty-acid methyl esters.  相似文献

Debaryomyces hansenii is a polyol overproducing yeast that can have a potential use for upgrading lignocellulosic hydrolysates. Therefore, the establishment of its tolerance to metabolic inhibitors found in hydrolysates is of major interest. We studied the effects of selected aliphatic acids, phenolic compounds, and furfural. Acetic acid favored biomass production for concentrations <6.0 g/L. Formic acid was more toxic than acetic acid and induced xylitol accumulation (maximum yield of 0.21 g/g of xylose). All tested phenolics strongly decreased the specific growth rate. Increased toxicity was found for hydroquinone, syringaldehyde, and 4-methylcatechol and was correlated to the compound’s hydrophobicity. Increasing the amount of furfural led to longer lag phases and had a detrimental effect on specific growth rate and biomass productivity.  相似文献

The selective determination of trimethylamine (TMA) in air by liquid chromatography is reported. Sampling is effected by flushing air through C18-packed solid-phase extraction (SPE) cartridges at a flow rate of 15 mL/min for 15 min. Next, TMA is desorbed from the cartridges and injected into the chromatographic system. The analyte is then selectively retained on a precolumn (20 mm x 2.1 mm i.d., packed with 30 microm, Hypersil C18 phase), and derivatized on-line by injecting 9-fluorenylmethyl chloroformate (FMOC). Finally, the TMA-FMOC derivative is transferred to the analytical column (125 mm x 4 mm i.d., LiChrospher 100 RP18, 5 microm), and monitored at 262 nm. The method was applied to the measurement of TMA in air in the 0.25-2.5 microg interval (equivalent to concentrations of TMA of 1.1-11 mg/m3), providing good linearity, reproducibility and accuracy. The mean recovery of TMA was (96 +/- 7%) (n = 12), and the limit of detection was 0.05 microg. The proposed procedure allows the selective determination of TMA in the presence of other primary and secondary short-chain aliphatic amines.  相似文献

A new route for the preparation of four new indolizidines, (1R,2S,6S,7S,8aS)- and (1R,2S,6R,7R,8aS)-1,2,6,7-tetrahydroxyindolizidine (30 and 32) and (1S,2R,7S,8S,8aR)- and (1S,2R,7R,8R,8aR)-1,2,7,8-tetrahydroxyindolizidine (44 and 46), is reported. The synthesis is based on Knoevenagel homologation of the readily available enantiomerically pure pyrrolidin-carbaldehydes 13 and 37followed by asymmetric dihydroxylation of the subsequent alkenyl pyrrolidines and cyclization of the corresponding imino-octitols. The new indolizidines and their precursors (imino-octitols 20, 25, 26) and indolizidinones 28a and 28b have been tested for inhibitory activities toward 26 glycosidases. The enzymatic inhibition of trans-7-hydroxy-d-(-)-swainsonine (44) toward alpha-mannosidases is similar to that described for trans-7-hydroxy-l-(+)-swainsonine (11b) toward naringinase (alpha-l-rhamnosidase from Penicillium decumbens).  相似文献

Six new carbocyclic nucleosides were prepared by constructing a purine base (in compounds 9-11) or pyrimidine base (in 6-8) on the amino groups of (+/-)-(1 beta,2 alpha,4 beta)-4-amino-1,2-cyclopentanedimethanol (4) and (+/-)-(1 beta,3 alpha,4 beta)-4-amino-1,3-cyclopentanedimethanol (5), and their activities against a variety of viruses and tumour cell lines were determined.  相似文献

From extraction experiments with 22 Na as a tracer, the exchange extraction constant corresponding to the equilibrium Pb2+ (aq)+2 NaL+ (nb)PbL2 2+ (nb)+2 Na+ (aq) in the two-phase water-nitrobenzene system (L = 15-crown-5; aq = aqueous phase, nb = nitrobenzene phase) was evaluated as log Kex (Pb2+ , 2NaL+ ) = 4.7±0.1. Moreover, the stability constant of the complex PbL2 2+ in nitrobenzene saturated with water was calculated for a temperature of 25 °C as log nb (PbL2 2+ ) = 17.9±0.1.  相似文献

A procedure was developed for modelling the gas chromatographic separation on a system of columns coupled in series. This procedure can be used for computer based optimization of lengths and order of serially coupled columns at isothermal conditions. The sample component retention factors and column resistances needed for the model can easily be measured on each individual column. The proposed procedure was verified by analyzing a 52 component hydrocarbon mixture on three columns of different polarity coupled in series by various column orders. Good agreement between experimental and calculated retention data was found. The procedure is also well suited for optimization of the chromatographic selectivity by coupling columns with different selectivity in series.Dedicated to Professor Dr. h.c. mult. J.F.K. A racemic solution of (I) crystallizes as a conglomerate from which a crystal we selected was found to be (+)546-trans-[Co(3,2,3-tet)(NO2)2]Cl·3H2O (I), CoClO7N6C8H28. It crystallizes in the enantiomorphic space groupP2l2l2l, with lattice constantsa=18.501(15) å,b=14.433(2) å, andc=6.441(3) å;V=1720.07 å3 andd(calc. M.W.=414.73,Z=4)=1.601 g cm?3. A total of 2305 data were collected over the range of 4?≤2θ ≤55?; of these, 1724 (independent and withI > 3σ(I)) were used in the structural analysis. Data were corrected for absorption (Μ=11.920 cm?1), and the relative transmission coefficients ranged from 0.8258 to 0.9565. Refinement was carried out for both lattice enantiomorphs, and at this stage theR(F) andR w (F) residuals were, respectively, 0.0381 and 0.0479 for (+ + +) and 0.0448 and 0.0532 for (? ? ?). Thus, the former was selected as correct for our specimen, and the final cycle of refinement with the (+ + +) model converged toR(F) andR w (F) of 0.0315 and 0.0365. A racemic solution of (II) crystallizes as a conglomerate from which a crystal we selected was found to be (?)589-trans-[Co(3,2,3-tet)Cl2]NO3 (II), CoCl2O3N5C8H22. It crystallizes in the enantiomorphic space groujp,P2l with lattice constantsa=6.395(2) å,b=8.886(2) å,c=13.185(2) å, andΒ=99.24(2)?;V=739.59 å3 andd(calc. M.W.=366.14,Z=2)=1.646 g cm ?3. A total of 2912 data were collected over the range of 4?<2θ<64?; of these, 2147 (independent and withI≥3σ(I)) were used in the structural analysis. Data were corrected for absorption (Μ =15.424 cm?1), and the relative transmission coefficients ranged from 0.9632 to 0.9985. Refinement was carried out for both lattice enantiomorphs, and the finalR(F) andR w (F) residuals were, respectively, 0.0326 and 0.0328 for (+ + +) and 0.0347 and 0.0348 for (? ? ?). Thus, the (+ + +) was selected as correct for our specimen. A racemic solution of (III) crystallizes as a conglomerate from which a crystal we selected was found to be (+)589-trans-[Co(3,2,3-tet)(NO2)2]NO3 (III), CoO7N7C8H22. It crystallizes in the enantiomorphic space group,P2l with lattice constantsa=6.295(1) å, b=15.108(3) å,c=8.029(1) å, andΒ=100.28(2)?;V=751.35 å3 andd(calc. M.W.=387.24,Z=2)=1.712 g cm?3. A total of 2393 data were collected over the range of 4?≤2θ≤60?; of these, 1869 (independent and withI≥3σ(I)) were used in the structural analysis. Data were corrected for absorption (Μ=11.859 cm?1), and the relative transmission coefficients ranged from 0.8814 to 0.9976. Refinement was carried out for both lattice enantiomorphs and the finalR(F) andR w (F) residuals were, respectively, 0.0463 and 0.0482 for (+ + +) and 0.0441 and 0.0442 for (? ? ?). Thus, the latter was selected as correct for our specimen, and the final cycle of refinement with the (? ? ?) model converged toR(F) andR w (F) of 0.0436 and 0.0421. For all three compounds, the six-membered rings are chairs; the secondary nitrogens are chiral centers, and the five-membered rings are ordered and conformationally dissymmetric, as expected. Coincidentally, in (I), (II), and (III) the central rings are right-handed helices withδ(+50.0?),δ(+53.3?), andδ(+48.3?), respectively. Thus, the secondary nitrogens of all three cations are (R), rendering the cations chiral. The incidence of conglomerate crystallization intrans coordination compounds is rare, and those known are asymmetrically substituted (see Ref. 4 for the four known cases). Thus, the incidence of such crystallization mode in a new series of [trans- Co(amine ligands)X2]+ cations bearing symmetrical pairs oftrans ligands was an unexpected and welcomed event. In all three cases, the counteranions are bonded to the hydrogens of the terminal -NH2 moieties, thus forming an overall entity which resembles a macrocycle. In fact, parallels between the crystallization behavior of our compounds and that of macrocycles bearing related fragments is discussed. Finally, in the three compounds, homochiral cations are linked into infinite strings by hydrogen bonds between the axial ligands and amino hydrogens on adjacent cations of the string. In turn, strings are stitched together by the counteranions which form bonds with amino hydrogens on cations of adjacent strings.  相似文献

Summary The interaction of non-anhydrous solutions of the ligand 1,3-bis-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,3-propanedione (bhppH3) with hydrated rare earth chlorides resulted in the formation of anhydrous, non-solvated, complexes M(bhppH2)3 (M=Y, La, Nd, Pr, Sm or Yb). The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, t.g., i.r. and1H n.m.r. spectroscopy. The evidence suggests that the coordination is through the -diketone site.  相似文献
