dependent periodic Navier–Stokes flows were found based on a combination of analysis and computation. This investigation is

We present the first detailed measurement of incoherent photoproduction of neutral pions to a discrete state of a residual nucleus. The 12C(gamma,pi(0))(12)C*(4.4 MeV) reaction has been studied with the Glasgow photon tagger at MAMI employing a new technique which uses the large solid angle Crystal Ball detector both as a pi(0) spectrometer and to detect decay photons from the excited residual nucleus. The technique has potential applications to a broad range of future nuclear measurements with the Crystal Ball and similar detector systems elsewhere. Such data are sensitive to the propagation of the Delta in the nuclear medium and will give the first information on matter transition form factors from measurements with an electromagnetic probe. Intriguing reports of enhanced diffusion in enzymes and molecular catalysts have spurred significant interest in experimental and theoretical investigations, and the mechanism of this phenomenon is the topic of lively debate. Here we use time‐resolved diffusion NMR methods to measure the diffusion coefficients (D) of small molecule species involved in chemical reactions with high temporal resolution. We show the enhanced diffusion of small molecules cannot be explained by reaction velocity, and that apparent measurements of enhanced diffusion by small molecules appear to be caused by bulk fluid flow processes such as convection. 相似文献

We report excellent correlations between the first negative threshold potentials (V(TH)s) for electric conduction, electrochemical potentials, and computed lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energies in a series of phenylene-ethynylene oligomers bearing a sulfur-based anchoring unit and different electroactive substituents on the central benzene ring. The theoretical and electrochemical results strongly suggest that the peaks observed in the i-V curves have a true molecular origin and are associated with distinct unoccupied molecular levels of the compounds that are strongly localized on the central ring (except for compound I). This localization might account for the existence of a long-lived radical-anion state that permits lateral electron hopping and leads to charge trapping and storage. 相似文献

Preterm birth (PTB) related health problems take over one million lives each year, and currently, no clinical analysis is available to determine if a fetus is at risk for PTB. Here, we describe the preparation of a key PTB risk biomarker, thrombin‐antithrombin (TAT), and characterize it using dot blots, MS, and microchip electrophoresis (µCE). The pH for fluorescently labeling TAT was also optimized using spectrofluorometry and spectrophotometry. The LOD of TAT was measured in µCE. Lastly, TAT was combined with six other PTB risk biomarkers and separated in µCE. The ability to make and characterize TAT is an important step toward the development of an integrated microfluidic diagnostic for PTB risk. 相似文献

In this study a bispidine ligand has been applied to the complexation of gallium(III) and radiolabelled with gallium-68 for the first time. Despite its 5-coordinate nature, the resulting complex is stable in serum for over two hours, demonstrating a ligand system well matched to the imaging window of gallium-68 positron emission tomography (PET). To show the versatility of the bispidine ligand and its potential use in PET, the bifunctional chelator was conjugated to a porphyrin, producing a PET/PDT-theranostic, which showed the same level of stability to serum as the non-conjugated gallium-68 complex. The PET/PDT complex killed >90 % of HT-29 cells upon light irradiation at 50 μm . This study shows bispidines have the versatility to be used as a ligand system for gallium-68 in PET. 相似文献

The effects of macroscopic background gradients due to susceptibility differences at the sample interfaces and of radiation damping on pulsed-gradient spin-echo (PGSE) experiments are examined. Both phenomena can lead to the seemingly strange effect of the echo signal growing as the gradient strength increases at low applied gradient strengths. For a freely diffusing species, background gradients manifest themselves as slight concave or convex inflections in the linearized PGSE attenuation curve, depending on the polarity of the applied gradient. The various means of overcoming macroscopic background gradient problems, including bipolar gradients, and their efficacy are examined experimentally and discussed. The effects of radiation damping can also result in the attenuation curve being nonlinear but, different from the effect of background gradients, the nonlinearity does not change with the polarity of the applied gradient. The vulnerability of the stimulated echo-based PGSE sequence and variations of Hahn-based PGSE sequences is investigated. Both background gradients and radiation damping have serious implications for accurate diffusion measurement determination. 相似文献

Using quantum-mechanical simulations based on density-functional perturbation theory, we address the problem of stability of MgSiO3 perovskite to decomposition into MgO and SiO2 at pressures and temperatures of the Earth's lower mantle. We show that MgSiO3 perovskite (and its post-perovskite phase) is more stable than the mixture of oxides throughout the pressure-temperature regime of the Earth's mantle.
