The adsorbed amounts of water vapor onto polyacrylic polymer (polymer ×10) were measured using a thermogravimetry method as a function of pressure at 298 and 313 K. The adsorption isotherms are categorized to type II isotherms by IUPAC classification leading to a hysteresis loop between adsorption and desorption branches. The current study was completed by the measurement of the adsorption heats at 298 K using a differential scanning calorimetry. The calorimetric curves showed two adsorption heats domains. These domains have been attributed to the adsorption of “equivalent monolayer” and the condensation of water between polymeric chains. The correlation of experimental data to some chosen theoretical models shows that the GAB model is the most adequate to describe water vapor sorption isotherms.  相似文献

Carotenoids are employed in light-harvesting complexes of dinoflagellates with the two-fold aim to extend the spectral range of the antenna and to protect it from radiation damage. We have studied the effect of the environment on the vibrational properties of the carotenoid peridinin in different solvents by means of vibrational spectroscopies and QM/MM molecular dynamics simulations. Three prototypical solvents were considered: cyclohexane (an apolar/aprotic solvent), deuterated acetonitrile (a polar/aprotic solvent) and methanol (a polar/protic solvent). Thanks to effective normal mode analysis, we were able to assign the experimental Raman and IR bands and to clarify the effect of the solvent on band shifts. In the 1500-1650 cm(-1) region, seven vibrational modes of the polyene chain were identified and assigned to specific molecular vibrations. In the 1700-1800 cm(-1) region a strong progressive down-shift of the lactonic carbonyl frequency is observed passing from cyclohexane to methanol solutions. This has been rationalized here in terms of solvent polarity and solute-solvent hydrogen bond interactions. On the basis of our data we propose a classification of non-equivalent peridinins in the Peridinin-Chlorophyll-Proteins, light-harvesting complexes of dinoflagellates.  相似文献

The atomic axial tensor (AAT) of vibrational circular dichroism is expressed as the frequency derivative at zero frequency of a linear response function for operators referencing a nuclear displacement and a magnetic field. This is used in the density matrix-based quasienergy derivative Lagrangian approach of Thorvaldsen et al. [J. Chem. Phys., 2008, 129, 214108] to express the AAT in a form where the need to solve response equations for the nuclear displacements is removed, significantly reducing the computation cost compared to existing formulations. The density matrix-based quasienergy derivative Lagrangian approach also allows us straightforwardly to use London atomic orbitals to remove the gauge-origin dependence and to account for the atomic orbitals' dependence on the nuclear coordinates. The formalism is entirely based on atomic-orbital density and integral matrices and therefore amenable to linear scaling for sufficiently sparse matrices and given a linearly scaling response solver.  相似文献

This paper aims to demonstrate the quantitative simulation of photoacoustic signals using finite element modelling software. The software Comsol Multiphysics is used to calculate the response of a differential Helmholtz resonator cell previously modeled using an electrical analogy. Quality factors and resonance frequencies are compared with experimental ones. Moreover, for the first time, the absorption coefficient of the gas sample and the laser intensity are also used to quantitatively predict photoacoustic signal that can be obtained in such a configuration.  相似文献

CoFe2O4 thin films with preferential texture structure, small grain size, and perpendicular magnetic anisotropy can be obtained by the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. In this work, we studied the influence of the Fe3+ ions substitution by three elements from lanthanide group (Dy, La, and Gd) on the structural properties of the thin films. The samples were deposited by Nd:YAG laser (λ=532 nm, 10 ns) ablation of CoFe1.8RE0.2O4, (RE=Dy, La, Gd) targets at various substrate temperatures ranging from room temperature to 600 °C. The microstructure and chemical composition of the thin films were investigated by Raman spectroscopy, XRD, SEM-EDS, and ToF-SIMS. The XRD patterns and Raman spectra of the thin films indicated the formation of a single spinel structure. Thus, the desired substitution of the iron ions in the spinel lattice with the RE elements was achieved in the thin films, although in the bulk material, their presence determined the formation of a residual phase with a perovskite-type structure.  相似文献

Summary Analytic equations of the multiconfigurational SCF (MCSCF) response theory are combined with the finite-field (FF) approach to compute static and frequency dependent electric and magnetic properties of the Argon atom. A complete active space (CAS SCF) function including the 3s, 3p, 3d, 4s and 4p orbitals in the active space and a large (17s 13p 7d 5f 3g) basis set are employed. This permits an accurate determination of various linear and non-linear response properties such as e.g. electric dipole polarisability and second hyperpolarisability, Verdet constant, magnetisability and second hyperpolarisability. The results, both for the static values and for the frequency dependence of these properties, compare well with other most recent experimental and theoretical data.Dedicated to Jan Linderberg on the occasion of his 60th birthday  相似文献
