The purpose of this work is to investigate the dynamic behaviour of an electrically-actuated microbeam. The electromechanical model is based on the strain-gradient elasticity theory and it gives proper account of the nonlinear geometric term due to the mid-plane stretching and of an applied axial load. The free nonlinear vibrations are studied with the energy balance method and the homotopy analysis method Liao (Commun Nonlinear Sci Numer Simul 14(4):983, 2009), thus carrying out a thorough analysis with regard to the nonlinear terms. The analysis is based on a single-degree-of-freedom model, where the nonlinear electric force acting on the beam is approximated by the Chebyshev method and a fringing field correction term is considered as well. A numerical solution, obtained by a 4th order Runge Kutta algorithm, is also proposed as a benchmark for all the semi-analytical results. Major attention is paid to verify the agreement between the different methods and the their accuracy in the pull-in regime.  相似文献

Summary In this paper a tensorial formulation of monoenergetic neutron diffusion theory is presented as can be derived starting from the integral form of the Boltzmann equation. A result of this tensorial approach is that, as a consequence of a spatial variation of the macroscopic cross sections or of the finite dimensions of the body under examination, the diffusion coefficient is no longer a constant scalar quantity, but a second order symmetric tensor, whose components are functions of both the position and the properties of the material the body is made of. The components of the diffusion coefficient tensor are explicitly evaluated in the case of some homogeneous convex bodies.
Sommario In questa nota viene presentata una formulazione tensoriale della teoria della diffusione di neutroni monoenergetici, quale può essere dedotta a partire dalla forma integrale dell'equazione di Boltzmann. Nell'ambito di questa formulazione si precisa che il coefficiente di diffusione, in conseguenza di una variazione regolare delle sezioni d'urto macroscopiche con la posizione o delle dimensioni finite del mezzo in esame, non è più una quantità scalare costante, ma un tensore simmetrico del secondo ordine, le cui componenti sono funzioni della posizione e delle proprietà del materiale. Queste componenti vengono calcolate esplicitamente per alcuni mezzi omogenei convessi.

The physical mechanism of the isentropic thermoelastic effect is investigated in terms of lattice dynamics. The temperature variation arising from a thermal compensation of the strain induced frequency changes of the vibrational modes is the consequence of maintaining constant the entropy (dependent on the phonon population number) during the transformation. The interplay of the mechanical work for elastic deformation of a material and the heat consequently transferred to it is then analyzed according to the principles of thermodynamics within the same frame. The temperature dependence of the energy dissipated during a thermoelastic cycle is numerically evaluated in an appropriate Debye-Grüneisen model.  相似文献

We study the branch of semistable and unstable solutions (i.e., those whose Morse index is at most 1) of the Dirichlet boundary value problem ? Δu = λf(x)/(1 ? u)2 on a bounded domain Ω ? ?N, which models—among other things—a simple electrostatic microelectromechanical system (MEMS) device. We extend the results of 11 relating to the minimal branch, by obtaining compactness along unstable branches for 1 ≤ N ≤ 7 on any domain Ω and for a large class of “permittivity profiles” f. We also show the remarkable fact that powerlike profiles f(x) ? |x|α can push back the critical dimension N = 7 of this problem by establishing compactness for the semistable branch on the unit ball, also for N ≥ 8 and as long as As a byproduct, we are able to follow the second branch of the bifurcation diagram and prove the existence of a second solution for λ in a natural range. In all these results, the conditions on the space dimension and on the power of the profile are essentially sharp. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The introduction of a 1,3-diacetylpyridine moiety, as an additional binding niche in a macrocyclic receptor ligand containing a conjugated, push-pull malonate functionality, leads to, in addition to the 1:1 binding stoichiometry, the equilibrium formation of multiple complexes, specifically 1:2, 2:1, and 3:1 ligand:metal complexes with lanthanide trications. Various binding modes elicit distinctive responses in the visible region, which enhance the potential recognition of lanthanide ions. This paper also highlights the usefulness of a full factor analysis in the elucidation of complex binding phenomena.  相似文献

We show that the evaluation of scattering amplitudes can be formulated as a problem of multivariate polynomial division, with the components of the integration-momenta as indeterminates. We present a recurrence relation which, independently of the number of loops, leads to the multi-particle pole decomposition of the integrands of the scattering amplitudes. The recursive algorithm is based on the weak Nullstellensatz theorem and on the division modulo the Gröbner basis associated to all possible multi-particle cuts. We apply it to dimensionally regulated one-loop amplitudes, recovering the well-known integrand-decomposition formula. Finally, we focus on the maximum-cut, defined as a system of on-shell conditions constraining the components of all the integration-momenta. By means of the Finiteness Theorem and of the Shape Lemma, we prove that the residue at the maximum-cut is parametrized by a number of coefficients equal to the number of solutions of the cut itself.  相似文献

In conformal geometry, the Compactness Conjecture asserts that the set of Yamabe metrics on a smooth, compact, aspherical Riemannian manifold $\left( M,g\right) $ is compact. Established in the locally conformally flat case by Schoen (Lecture Notes in Mathematics, vol. 1365, pp. 120–154. Springer, Berlin 1989, Surveys Pure Application and Mathematics, 52 Longman Science, Technology, pp. 311–320. Harlow 1991) and for $n\le 24$ by Khuri–Marques–Schoen (J Differ Geom 81(1):143–196, 2009), it has revealed to be generally false for $n\ge 25$ as shown by Brendle (J Am Math Soc 21(4):951–979, 2008) and Brendle–Marques (J Differ Geom 81(2):225–250, 2009). A stronger version of it, the compactness under perturbations of the Yamabe equation, is addressed here with respect to the linear geometric potential $\frac{n-2}{4(n-1)} {{\mathrm{Scal}}}_g,\, {{\mathrm{Scal}}}_g$ being the Scalar curvature of $\left( M,g\right) $ . We show that a-priori $L^\infty $ –bounds fail for linear perturbations on all manifolds with $n\ge 4$ as well as a-priori gradient $L^2$ –bounds fail for non-locally conformally flat manifolds with $n\ge 6$ and for locally conformally flat manifolds with $n\ge 7$ . In several situations, the results are optimal. Our proof combines a finite dimensional reduction and the construction of a suitable ansatz for the solutions generated by a family of varying metrics in the conformal class of $g$ .  相似文献

We present an asymptotic analysis for a perturbed prescribed scalar curvature-type equation. A major consequence is a non-existence result in low dimension. Conversely, we prove an existence result in higher dimensions: to this aim we develop a general finite-dimensional reduction procedure for perturbed variational functionals. The general principle can be useful to discuss some other nonlinear elliptic PDE with Sobolev critical growth in bounded domains.  相似文献
